I been playing at nice little combat sim for maybes the last three months. This last 3-4 days are the worst I can recall, overall SL performance-wise, since I joined SL. Way to go, Ebbe. Put Rod's golf clubs away and roll your sleeves up.

On top of these tools, many talented script writers offer excellent tool sets on the Marketplace aid in the management of griefing as well as normal social annoyances. Have Linden Research sponsored events been griefed? They sure have. I have some great pictures from a few of these polluted with various textures of exaggerated body part images. Yeps, you overreacted. Poitical correctness has formed it's own poison within society, in general, not just SL., There was recently a real life experiment, where a little girl was positioned in a mall, and approached grown-ups of both sexes for help, saying she was lost, etc. As I recall, I don't think any of the men helped her, because as one put it after having been stopped and informed it was a experiment for TV, 'if you a grown man is even seen talking to a little girl, these days, it can be taken the wrong way'. Had she asked you for virtual sex, then wow get onto the lab, but telling her her conversation was 'creepy' was a kneejerk reaction, which I suspect you already know hence your post.

Is that so? Personally, I find it hard to forgive the Lindens for Viewer2. I mean what sort of company would even release something that atrocious? As for their latest viewer, I am happy for you. It is high time they got something right. Nonetheless. my money is on at least 2 of the TPV's being superior. As has been the case for years. Sometimes even a dev acting pretty much alone, a superior viewer results. Funny that, isn't it?

Did he now? Well, there is a slight problem; the CEO is there to benefit the many not the few, by his or her abilities. In this, Rod 'take the money and run' Humble was a unmitigated disaster. He never communicated with the customers as a whole. He never made the customer feel that LL actually give a s**t. The extremely rare times he was actually inworld say it all. Hardly a example to the other 'stay at home and party fri afternoon' Lindens. SL was not transformed in the slightest by Humble for the better.

As I have maintained steadily, Humble was a disaster. It only shows just how hapless LL are the very fact they hired him and allowed him to stay for three years. He was the ultimate 'invisible' CEO, and has laughed his way to the bank, and learned that customers can be treated with borderline contempt at certain companies. I honestly don't think LL have the time, now, to get someone capable in as CEO. SL's slide has not been halted under Humble's dynamic stewardship. I always took a very cynical view of Humble -call it gut instinct, being much older than 90% of the residents, here - and I believe I have been proved absolutely right. 'It's been a great three years', he says. I bet it has, Rod. For you. Question is, will LL have learned their lesson? I think we already know the answer to that, depressing as it is. Humble says he wants to start some airy fairy 'arty' thing. Frankly, Rod, you would be a splendid wall street or city of london banker. I recall a friend who many years ago, was perma banned from SL because he copied for about a week some of the - frankly, mediocre - stuff inworld at the time. Still, he broke the TOS he signed up to uphold, so I was not particularly sympathetic. However, as you have pointed out, things are now laughable vis a vis some of the stuff on MP - that LL gets a tasty cut of, let us not forget. These creators - ahem - are making money for poor Rod and his beleaguered troops. You have to ask, therefore, does anyone from LL look at the MP? Monitor it? Are they, perhaps, the right Linden to be doing so? Perhaps, Bethesda are doing ok enough to not worry, because rest assured they are aware of it. Nice. Let me ask you something, though; do you love LL with the same passion? Secondlife is amazing. Still. Not because of LL, however, but despite them. Not to mention the patience of their customers. Any of the top three or four games studios would run SL infinitesmally better, without breaking sweat. LL banned Redzone in no small part because the Greenzone group formed to combat this spyware and were effectively blacklisting stores and malls and clubs with redzone and using the Greenzone hud to broadcast this. LL were, imo, perfectly happy to rake in cash from Redzone's creator for a very long time before having to act. The whole thing is still a grey area, the paranoid people you mention now buy other dubious security devices such as a certain alt detector , which is sold to - cough - stop all those 'millions' of alts stealing sploder prizes from gambling, oops.....sorry.... I meant 'skill', um, games. This device's creator even more audaciously listed all members of Greenzone on a site of his own, and in SL sent them a threatening message to leave the Greezone group or by labelled as 'griefers'. What did LL do about this flagrant abuse/blackmail? Sweet F.A. Greenzone group chat is still regularly trolled by his 'staff'......for want of a better name. Re. your points, no. 3 is a grey area. As I understood it, the more recent viewers - even if media is set to default - relay a warning about the type of media a particular sim is requesting? Plenty people like to have their music on, in particular, and even if they decide to be cautious, how do they know what a sim is doing to them when they visit somewhere new? It is a right royal mess, as per usual.
