Yes, I am interested in silhouette as well, this model looking tall skinny woman with Le smoking clothes. I found a Coco tux quite nice but now I need a body base and even the head that goes with it. I styled it with my e-body and head and it did not look good.

Unless you're going to be stripping, you don't need a mesh body underneath full coverage clothes. It won't be seen and just adds extra data to be downloaded. So if a mesh body is getting in the way of the style you want, why bother with it? Separate hands and feet from Slink will do the trick just fine.

  2. Are you after the silhouette or the clothes?

Current trends are the opposite of that silhouette, so if you want it you'll have to concentrate on the shape sliders as much as clothing. Are you new and in need of help with understanding shape and sliders?

The more of a body that's covered, the less a mesh body matters to the appearance. It will either be made transparent ("alpha-ed out") or hidden by the clothes. If the clothes are mesh, then they'll give the silhouette. If the clothes are "rigged", they'll respond to the sliders. It's confusing at first but gets easier with practice.

  3. Any differences between my avs are largely superficial; Bitsy's the steam punk, flapper, banana, time traveler, lady dilettante pirate and purchaser of full perm things, Paisley's a hippy and bohemian, and lately a puppy. But that's just to make clothing acquisition easier. If they could share wardrobes, then who got to wear what would largely be based on which one was logged in or whose current outfit interested me the least on the day. Officially Paisley is the building alt, but the lack of clear boundaries there says everything :)

There is an old, under-used av too. Over the years, she's evolved into a sort of tom-boyish rock chick type clothing-wise, based on the sexiest woman I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in that way and she continues as such to remind me that the common conventions of what's considered sexy in a woman are ridiculously narrow and limiting.

Sometimes I make up wee fragments of meandering stories about them to entertain friends, or talk about the other as if she was a different person. It's always been very fluid and likely to change on a whim. All aspects of myself are present within each. At most you could say Paisley reflects a younger me and Bitsy somewhat older. But then she is presently literally a banana and has just flooded her Linden log cabin to make an aquarium out of the front room, so we might not want to assign relative maturity to either :D

I don't know why, but since the possibility of changing your name, I've never been more proud of belonging to the resident family. I like it better to have just one name all over the place,

Last names root an account in SL's history by indicating when the account was hatched. "Resident" is a very substantial period of that history, so it's right that there are accompanying senses of identity and meaning. Plural because there's never just one for this sort of thing. I hope "Resident" comes to feel less generic than it has.

Of course, you have to be clinically insane to put that much time and effort into a texture like this and that's what's wrong with it. I suppose I ought to see a psychiatrist but I don't dare. ;)

It's not insane if you enjoy the process and the outcome. Speaking from experience here :D

In that case i would want a log cabin that looks like a freaking log cabin.. That looks like a house with siding.. Logs are round. That is the best LL can do? Seriously?

Rounded logs would add enormously to the mesh geometry and render cost. So yeah, it's a necessary compromise for the overall quality of the regions. A different name would be more appropriate though.

Someone posted here that they wanted to change SL to Sexy Disco Life. Well, I think SL SHOULD change...but to PIZZA PARADISE.

All grass/soil/rock in regions should be changed to cheese and pepperoni, or ham and pineapple.

The infohubs should be changed to pizza restaurants and Ebbe and the Lindens should hold a sacred pizza supper at one every Sunday at 6pm.

Linden dollars should be replaced with pizza slices. A pair of converse knee boots on marketplace = 200 pizza slices.I

I would laugh so hard if I came across a parcel like this (even though, or perhaps especially because, I can't have much pizza in RL). Please make one :)

Yeah, at first my password didn't work. The wiki said to contact support if that happens, so I did, and they got me sorted.

What do I do if I run out of L$ on the beta grid? Can I just contact support again and they'll give me more? Is it automatic?

You'll have to do a LOT of uploading to run out. I've gotten more without doing anything so there must be some automation to it, though I don't know the mechanics of it, just that it happens. Good luck with your projects :)

    That'll work I guess. Thanks. 🙂

It might take a couple of log-ins on the beta grid (with some time inbetween) to get it synced with your main grid inventory. I'm not sure what the current process is. For a while it was log in, then log back in after they do whatever they do to resync it at silly o'clock in the morning SLT. Was having problems with it and don't know if that was a temporary glitch or if they've changed it.

If you have problems, ask. Someone here will know.

Once you get it sorted, the beta grid is well worth the effort. Nice quiet place to work on a project and free uploads :)

  11. The friend I'd like to invite in has two small children so her days are pretty full. Had thought to ask when they're older, but maybe I'll put out feelers now. I also know someone whose sense of humour involves insulting people repeatedly. He's not malicious, he genuinely finds it hilarious, but we probably don't want him picking up tips from the info hub griefers :)

SL is an excellent escape from this confinement and since it's a time sink anyway, perfect for those looking to fill long hours. I hope it helps many.

A person who keeps virtue-signalling and keeps arguing against an obvious point that really required no comment at all is not someone who is "not heckling" nor someone wishing me well. Wishing someone well happens when you don't answer an obvious and doable suggestion with vicious and nasty replies. I don't expect people to become able to see themselves, but now might be a good time to start. Bye!

You are literally taking offense and attacking someone FOR WISHING YOU WELL.

I haven't been vicious or nasty. You're the one who does that, Prok. Amongst everything else, you derailed your own thread to have a go at me over the price of something in my shop. The price of something in my shop. Why? Were you hoping to somehow discredit me? Make me feel bad because I lost a sale for something I don't sell?

When you've asserted incorrect things about me, I've attempted to explain and set the record straight in hopes that you might better understand me. Which is what I'm doing here. That's not virtue signalling, it's trying to improve communication between two people. Do you not think improving mutual understanding is a good thing? It does seem to be very important to you that you are understood on your own terms. Can you not extend that to others?

I'd also like you to understand that I mean you no ill will. I genuinely wish you well. Can you set aside the narrative you've invented long enough to take this in?

If you're not interested in conversation, why are you posting in a public discussion forum? I'm asking this sincerely because I'd like to understand why you do this.
