It has been sometime since Bubble, Cio and I got together due to timing, RL and demanding significant others. We had a brief get together today and decided to goof off to some fancy places for old time sake.

It might also be possible that LL does not accept your credit card from your country. I had to change mine to PayPal to be billed.

How to see if people are at a location before going
Willow Danube replied to WhiteLione's topic in General Discussion Forum
If you are using the Website to search for places, You can actually see on the right corner of each advert, there is a bar meter of avatars that are in that in location. Try clicking on your Destination Guide and search for the bar meter with the more heads highlighted. -
First, Welcome to Second Life. Finding residents to make friends in Second Life is easy. You can just teleport to the next busy location you can find in your Search window and you can start sending mass request for friendship to anyone there. Now the hard fact: It is not going to be as easy as you think it is. This is not Facebook where you can Friend Request strangers just so you can reach 1000 friends in 3 days. In Second Life, you need to know HOW to make a friend. It is a lot like real life. You don't just go to a person and say Hi and tag him/her on the forehead as friend. Do it with tactics and be polite to them first. A simple Hi may not get you any friends so here are my tips: 1. Introduce yourself in IM or Local Chat and that you are very new to Second Life 2. Ask for a help.. any help. Like, how to change your avatar, where to get freebies and other stuff 3. Compliments the resident's avatars and how well made they are and how you would like to be like one too. It will always get you more than expected. 4. Be appreciative, at least act like one no matter how much of an arse the person was. 5. Ask if you could add him/her as a friend since you feel so lost and needed a direction. In my opinion the opposite gender will always be more willing to help you. So if you are a boy/man... go get yourself a female avatar friend. 6. Friend a fellow newbie like yourself. Chances are they are as lost as you and could use a friend to help each other out. If you see another avatar that looks like you or any of the starter avatars in your viewer, those are newbies. 7. Last but not least, grow a thick skin. You'll need it to survive the first week in SL. I wish you the best.

hi Puff, The sims are mostly empty because there a plenty of events that happening in Second Life now. Some places are not as popular as the others and most people here seemed to have something in common and so the place that identifies them a lot is where they will congregrate. If you would like to know what are the currently hot places frequented by the avatars check on your Destination guide or Search and look for the bar meter on each of the ads you see there. The more you see the bar head lights up in red, the busier the sim will be. Also you might want to have yourself age verified as well. Some places are rated in Mature and Adult so you wanna make sure that you have access to all these rated locations. As for jobs.. I'm sorry I have not worked in Second Life before other than building stuff for fun. I would suggest you to learn all the basic things like changing your clothes and hairs before talking to residents in-world in getting any jobs you preferred. Welcome to Second Life

Project LR - Anyone Playing?
Willow Danube replied to Ciaran Laval's topic in General Discussion Forum
Venus Petrov wrote: whyever would someone walk over something and pick it up? I have never had that experience in SL. Actually Venus, this is not new. If you have been to any of Grimly Darkfold's zombie sims, running over medical, bullet or armour points is something that has been happening for a long time now. I suppose the reason why she did that is so players would dare risk getting killed by the zombies by running over and collecting the points near the zombie spawning areas. That to me is more immersive than simply clicking my points in a distance. I don't see why we need to have everything 'clicked' to work. The way we could pan out and in from a distance, what good would a game be if all you can do is standing in one location and clicking on stuff to get your points? -

... you know what they say, if you first click it and it wont work, try:- 1. Double Click 2. Right Click 3. Run through it 4. Run Over it 5. Say Ala Shazam 6. Say Avacadavre 7. Sit On It 8. Sleep On it 9. Summon Live Help djins 10. Summon the Lindens gods in the forums One of those might work! -
Oh, I used to know someone who had that same thing happened to him before... He died two days later...:matte-motes-confused:

What do you usually buy in SL?
Willow Danube replied to Simplebear Bing's topic in Building and Texturing Forum
I buy more textures and sculpts than hairs and clothes. I'm not too crazy for shoes either. I was thinking if you are skilled in all that, why not sell a complete avatar accessories & appearance in one store? You can also sell sculpt maps and textures independently for all the things you sell in that store. I also find we do not have enough male hairs in SL. Maybe you could design male hair that everybody will like? I went to a biker sim today and I saw plenty of people there hanging around doing nothing with their motorcycles. Most are in long black hairs. If you can make it unisex, the female would buy it too. Oh and one more thing, we do not have enough head or hair accessories like head flowers and diadems. Why not create more of those? -
So, what do you think?
Willow Danube replied to Nimue Mistwalker's topic in General Discussion Forum
Hehehehehe.... Better still, rez a Zombie with no Physical damage and had it follow him instead. It's almost the same thing as what he did to you! -
So, what do you think?
Willow Danube replied to Nimue Mistwalker's topic in General Discussion Forum
Yes, I believe you are. Try turning your land to No Build, No Object entry, No Script and see what happen or just TP to a next sim/region. ETA: You see this a lot in LL's open sandbox. Once, I had a griefer used a cage with a follow script and the only way to get rid of it was to stand in the no Build part of the sandbox. -
I plan to go to the nearest graveyard with a bag of apples and oranges, a roasted chicken, a bottle of sherry and a few of those pungent Incense sticks. I plan to search for the oldest grave in that area where I can use to call upon the dead and to present my humble offerings in return for a few clues of the next Lottery numbers. It will look something like below: Photo was found in a public domain purely used in this thread as a visual reference. This lady was actually performing a Qingming ritual or paying respect to the ancestors as I would call it. Some asian cultures celebrate Hungry Ghost Festival which is equivalent to Halloween, by worshipping and staying away from anything that might get them killed. Hospital workers are the happiest people during this month.

Partner's crashes are wearing me out
Willow Danube replied to Gindipple's topic in Second Life Viewer
Ok, I thought you said she was still having problem even after buying a new pc. So this graphic card installed differently? Just so you know there were reports where people with ATI model having issues SL compared to NVidia but I would imagine a 2GB of graphic card is really good compared to mine and other than lagginess at times, I could run V3 just fine. I also suggest to run the viewer's graphic at high or low setting with view distance set to the lowest. At least only for the sake of logging in and she can turn it on to a higher setting after everything clears out for her. If you do some search here, you will find some really good discussions between SL experts on getting the best settings for the best SL experience. -
Partner's crashes are wearing me out
Willow Danube replied to Gindipple's topic in Second Life Viewer
You remind me of my SL exes who got mad at me for my stubborness to use Emerald or Phoenix. But you should be given some credits for being patience with her. You mentioned ntdll.dll crash log, have you asked her to try reinstalling/reformating entirely? One of my RL friends has had this problem before with SL crashing all too often with her PC, I found out that her basic OS softwares were 'pirated' and wasn't installed properly. Getting it done by a legit computer shop seemed to 'fix' the issue. -

Go to freebie sims. You'll get plenty of outfits for free. Or choose another human avatar with different theme from the same folder. -

You don't need to have a new account. Are you on a Basic or Advance viewer? Basic should gave you avatar photos for you to choose from. For Advance: Go to Inventory - Select My Outfit folder - Choose a folder like Male Biker outfit, expand, right click and wear
