  1. Hi, Mesh, unlike sculpts can't be made smaller than .01.once uploaded to SL. So if you are making small pieces you will have to add a larger object attached to it, such as a plane or cube. which will have a different material which you can make transparent once uploaded. Making small individual pieces however is not that efficient and doesn't save prims compared to sculpts. It works better if you can make combined mesh items made of a few objects together (perhaps those with the same material?) or even a whole necklace or section of your design, then use one plane to increase the scaling of the object to very small.   2. Hi, my advice would be to centre your front face, and have the rear faces in quarters in the 4 corners of the texture. Find a really good image of a gemstone face and scale it to fit the front of your gem. If you have used acurate diamond cuts on your model, you can see where to move the same points on your texture to match. Remember to pin your texture so results will remain as you have adjusted them. Make up the back of the gem, using the same texture ensuring direction goes to a point in each corner. It really doesnt matter too much how this looks as very little of a gemstone back is visible once in a setting. This is the method I have used for all my gemstones and I am happy with their look and realism. Btw on one of the images someone has added a photoshopped sparkle which of course is not visible on the object.
  3. Texture change items appear no mod in your inventory by default because of the script which is almost always no mod. If items are mod you would have to rez each one to re-name them before bringing back into your inventory.
  4. As a builder and merchant, simply extra features I use every day, such as copy/paste size rotate and location and align prims. Just makes everything quicker to do without added time to work out maths. One time firestorm was problematic when uploading mesh so mostly I used the official viewer for this task, but lately mesh uploads too are easier with more recent firestorm updates. As Phil says I find it much more useful to use regular profiles, when dealing with customer service, rather than web based ones. And lastly it runs smoothly on my laptop which I use wirelessly.
  5. Thank you everyone for helpful replies. Will have a go and hopfully things will work out better. I think perhaps planning order of appending objects before adding them will be helpful, more thought needed before putting items together may pay dividends. Thanks again Chrissy
  6. Thanks Drongle, for your help I still have a question and I have not found an issue with not using all the materials within the file. I make jewelry and put together gemstones and metals in combinations before upload. Some are appended from a master file with bits and pieces I made for use. In any blender file there maybe several materials, not all used for every model depending on what is needed. Say, I have 2 objects, one uses a metal, a pear gemstone and a brilliant cut gem occupying slots 1 , 2 and 3. The next model only uses a metal and a billiant cut stone so using again face 1 and 2, but this does not match model one where the brilliant cut stone is face 3 in the previous object. It becomes important if I use a script later to change texture on identical objects at the same time. Is there a way in blender to alter the order, of materials for each object so that I can always plan that identical faces have the same number? Or do I always need to plan in what order I need to add them when creating the file? Thank you for any help Chrissy
  7. I wonder if anyone can help, having problems finding a way to change the order of materials in Blender. I want to make sure that face numbers remain consistant within similar objects uploaded in various combinations. I can see the oder of materials in the menu, but how can I change this order before exporting an object to collada. Sorry for this simple question. Thank you in advance for assitance Chrissy
  8. I often make sections of jewelry to upload, which I can still edit for shape in Sl but will still cut down the total prim count. Identical objects share the same faces so you can add quite a few together and mix with a up to 7 different item faces and you can add a plane to the upload to increase the object depth, which can be made transparent I try not to use single prims where possible because unless you use a very high Lod for all distances it will disappear very quickly, being very small, and a larger Lod causes more issues for the wearer and viewer. Bigger sections of jewelry will still show up at a reasonable distance if you select High Lod for the first 3 generations and quite low for the lowest Lod. Chrissy
  9. Hi I think the problem is not with the mesh itself, but the materials or faces. Try adding a new material, say for jewelry add an additional plane with a new texture which you can make transparent later. This often solves the error issue on uploading.

You can still buy Styles of edo items on Marketplace, but there is no longer any inworld store, nor any inworld location where you can find his things. edo Tone is still the owner of the marketplace store, but no new designs will be created for his brand.   11. I think they must have sent this e-mail to all merchants with marketplace listings. I got one but all my stuff is DD and has been for 6 months. Ive no Magic Boxes left at all.
  12. Hi, Your received items folder is not within your main inventory, unless you are using older viewers. Look for the Received items on the bottom of the frame of your inventory. When objects arrive from merchants using direct delivery, objects go into this space and their arrival is marked there being a quantity 1 or more objects next to the received items. Click on the box to open the folder and view what is inside All items remain there until you move them to where you would like them to be. Hope this is helpful Chrissy
  13. To control the angles you need to go to control points in the whilst the curve is in edit (under curve menu) , choose the points where you want to change the angle and select tilt. Can get a bit wild, but can be controlled and click when you have finished Do this when you have the array modifyer on the object so you can see the effect of the tilt. .
  14. Hi, You have to take the test again specifically for the Beta Grid, then wait 24 hours to be able to upload mesh there. I follwed this link for full instructions and the test for Mesh on Beta http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh. Hope this helps. Chrissy

Hi, This may be the blind leading the blind as Im not very experienced with blender, but ive used the array and curved modifyer a lot with jewelry pieces. so I would recommend setting the origin to 0 for the object you wish to multiply and then do the steps you already tried, the array then curved modifier. Then try moving the object or the circle up or down and see what happens. I have seen that a horribly distorted looking array can re-form into a circle when ive moved either of the 2 objects. Someone else maybe can answer better but this worked for me. Chrissy
  16. Just an update, on progress I think Ive worked out where I was going wrong on the uploads. I think it was a mistake to set high LOD for every distance, which is what I selected. No one needs to see tiny prims from far away lol. I uploaded the same bracelet and settings with High Lod for close middle and low and furthest away set to only a few tirangles. when linked the same bracelet worth 329 land impact is now worth 6, in fact I went mad and linked 3 together making 16 prims. I was so happy. I would still like some info about groups for help particularly with mesh jewelry in blender or anyone who is prepared to help with questions on jewelry making from time to time. Ive searched the internet for tutorials or just general info with regard to SL and mesh jewelry but I can find nothing of help. Chrissy
  17. Hi, you can tell Im a newbie with mesh lol. When I first uploaded my diamond and settings I generated High and med lod to upload, and I did not choose any physics. Land inpact for a gem and setting was 3 prims. Realising th items disappear only a short distance away, not good enough to take photos say, I uploaded both again using just High Lod, and no physics. Land impact of both settings and diamond was 13 prims. I connected to a cube root prim and set to prim, in fact I tried them all convex hull and none and each time it said I cant select the root prim to have no shape. Not sure what this means, but it made no difference to the impact of the bracelet and necklace.
  18. Hi I am looking for some help with mesh jewelry. I am fairly new to creating with mesh being a blender newbie though quite used to creating sculpt items for my pieces. I wanted to know initially about uploading jewelry and how I can reduce land impact and upload cost. I made a diamond bracelet using 3 ways, all of which prove expensive or unsatisfactory compared to sulpties, though the result is lovely. Ist I created a single diamond and setting with med and high lod as options got them down to 1 prim land impact for the gem and 2 for the setting, but they disappeared from view when not too far away. I figured they need to be High Lod so re-loded them with that option and found the land impact for the bracelet to be 429. (a simple necklace was 770 using the same objects). I then made the whole bracelet in blender, planning to upload them in 2 parts one for the gems and one for the settings. Using High Lod again , and scale to 50% the cost for gems is 150l with land impact of 139 and the settings 220 to upload with a land impact of 250. I am not really saving myself a lot on land impact, but paying a lot more on cost. I was under the impression that creating a whole item to upload was more efficient, saved land cost and helped lag. I must be doing something wrong . Can anyone help me with this and also can anyone help with a general jewelry help in blender, a group perhaps to join or mentors willing to give advice.   19. Hi, Not sure if you have done this but did you remove the magic boxes from the server also, after removing them inworld. Go to the old xstreet site and remove at the bottom of the page, then refresh and sync. when you are back on marketplace. Phantom boxes and their contents stay around until the box is removed from the server too.
  20. Hi You need to set your land to the group your builders are rezzing in. You dont have to deed it, just set . Then allow anyone to build but have auto return for 15 mins, except those building with the group tag the land is set to. Hope this helps
  21. Hi did you remove the Magic Boxes from the server, via the old xtreet site after removing the boxes inworld? If you just pick up the boxes and do not remove from the server it will keep re-listing the items which were inside it. Hopefully that is the problem

Sorry yes forgot to say the name of the creator of the botted items are the sellers for both, and also the items from others, shoes in one case and gowns in another where we have been able to check after buying the name and creation date of the objects. Where there are prims involved it is done using inspect , where you can see the name of each prim which corresponds to the name of the original, say in the case of my jewelry. I use bits of other jewelry often in new creations so many prims are named differently in one linkset. In a copied item all prim names are the same as the origonal creators.
  23. For me jewels , though the creator who alerted us to the seller had shoes copied, so all kinds of products, all different styles dresses gowns shoes jewelry boots. I wish I were so talented lol.
  24. The Items are copies of my own products, and on buying them they had the creator as the seller not myself. There is no question the objects are mine, each prim has the same names as I used on the origonal. All textures are mine, I created them too. I dont give out copies of my textures , let alone give any item full perms. Same goes for several other creators who have been targetted by this seller, the products are all copies of their creations but now bearing the name of the copybot as the maker, the same name as the seller. We have collaborated to alert other creators to items of their design, and they have bought copies to compare and photograph with the origonals to file DMCA Claims.

Ive No idea about your case Ricky but I reviewed 2 products by the same vendor and the seller removed the items on marketplace and in their inventory so when my DMCA Claim went through they couldnt find them to remove. I have since found the 2 objects for sale inworld and am keeping quiet until the lab have a chance to see them, having re-submitted my DMCA. This store also has I suspect copies of Utopia wedding dresses, and other stuff by friends who have submitted their claims. If you want a landmark to take a look please im me inworld and Ill send to you, if you havent seen already. Chrissy
