  2. I just had a chat with Sonny and he is not interested in re-uniting for your next HBO special.
  3. Why don't you come by my church and we will see about getting those little devils out of you. One way or the other.

We are not role playing but thank you for your comment. How many of you are there in there with you? Do they all know of the others existence? Are you the dominant personality, or are you merely the spokesperson for the one who controls the others? Are the rest of the "we" you refer to as psychotic as you are?

  6. Colby Firehawk wrote: @ LL decides if, when and how to enforce their rules... You have no recourse. I can talk like that too! This thread was start to finish about what the rules mean, not about enforcing them. It's pretty obvious it's up to SL to decide what to enforce. So far I haven't ask they enforce anything at all, so duh, they haven't done anything. I think I have the answers I wanted at this point. It is time to move on. Thanks to those that answered in earnest! Implicit in my statement was the understanding that only LL determines what the ToS and CG mean, which specifically addresses your OP. It doesn't matter what anyone elses interpretation of the ToS or CG is, you have no recourse. Sorry, you do. Hire a lawyer and take them to court to enforce their rules. I hope you have deep pockets though because the shyster will soak you for every penny you have trying to win that one. PS Your imitation of my style impresses me not. But perhaps your parents will be enthralled by your achievement.
  7. LL decides if, when and how to enforce their rules. Bottom line. End of story. You have no recourse. Move on.
  8. You can post any chat logs on an external website. Public or private.
  9. Having watched the Dr. Phil episode that Ebbe attended I would like to ask Ebbe if Phil is as much of a dick in RL as he appears to be on TV? Also, Ebbe you looked uncomfortably out of place on the show. Do you often feel uncomfortable in the presence of others?
  10. To clarify things a bit it must be understood that 'healing' was not considered 'magic' Healing was evidence for the goodness of God. It was believed that in conjunction with whatever medical intervention undertaken, either by a classically trained medical practioner (of which there were very few at the time) or whether by a woman or man utilizing ubiquitous folk medicines, prayer and faith in God is what caused healing to occur and would therefore be deemed 'miraculous' or evidence for the existence of God. The feminist historical interpretation that a patriarchal medical community repressed women healers to maintain power is nonsense. As was noted above, every household would have practiced folk medicine to some degree, simply because trained physicians were so rare or too expensive to employ, as that knowledge was passed from generation to generation. Children, male and female, would have learned at their mother's knee, as women's roles were to maintain the household, about which herbs to use under which circumstance. That being the case, everyone could theoretically be classified a 'witch' based simply on their common knowledge. Which of course wasn't the case. However, that is not to say that that knowledge would or could not have been used at trial against the person. So as was alluded to by the Drake and others, people were charged with heresy, for being a witch, for politcal or economic reasons. In some circumstances I am sure out of vengeance, jealousy and envy as well. People covet. And the best way to get what they have is to get them out of the way. Accusing someone of witchcraft, to bring down a charge of heresy by the ecclesiastical authorities was at the time a good way to do that. Guilt was easily proven under pain of torture and sentence of death (in most cases) therefore justified.

It's not my fault that your statement was not worded in the way that you meant. You never stated "As per the beliefs of the time". Also, next time you want to say that someone is inferior intellectually, I suggest you use spell check. Your pitiful use of spelling leads me to believe that you are, in fact, the less intelligent of the two of us. By the way, MENSA doesn't feel that I have a small brain. "Way to take my words out of context. Please, for the love of god (who probably doesn't exist), never reply to me again, or even hop on a discussion such as one as intellectual as this when it's apparent you're retarded." FIFY! P.S. I really don't have a CLUE where you got the idea that I am a "bible thumper". (That one really made me laugh) It isn't the size that matters. Actually, they are more concerned with whether you 'put out'.

I have one of almost every extant operating system version on my home network - and also some that are supposedly discontinued - and I find that, although the principal Linux variants are significantly less prone to interference and meddling by commercial entities, XP is still the most stable and manageable, and a combination of common sense, Tor and designating a read-only memory card as the C Drive allows me to manipulate disposable online identities and waste the time of data collectors. Alec - understanding the media before I use it Migrate? When the weather has been so wonderful of late? Perhaps in November. Tell me, does Linux have nice sandy beaches? That reminds of a woman I once knew, Sandi Beech, a wonderful girl who had an equally enthralling friend Tawnee Bush. I had the pleasure of their pleasure one weekend in a November many years ago. To say they were unabashed would be an understatement, and their propensity for them to exhibit their free wheeling spirit often led them to leave the door ajar just enough so anyone passing by may catch a glimpse of the goings on. When I queried them on this they stated that it was nice to see who was looking in from time to time. In much the same way I like to think that it is a two way street. One never knows when you might like to fudge with the data or perhaps send a packet along to those doing the watching. PS If you ever wondered why women prefer not to drink beer at the beach it is because they don't want to get sand in their Schlitz.
  13. I just finished the upgrade and logged in with Firestorm and got a message that the Viewer couldn't read the saved data files. So I had to re-enter my name and pw as nothing was saved. I will have to go into the Redbook and get all my alts and their pw's re-entered now too. I was hoping to avoid this type of thing because I was planning a clean install of Win 10 but then got the pop-up unexpectedly and went ahead with the write-over upgrade figuring that all the data would be saved. Sadly this appears not to be the case and I will have to go through everything now to see what works and what doesn't.

This is a cop-out. Do not blame the toys for poor parenting skills. do you have kids? i'm thinking that you don't. any parent out there will agree with that statement about it life is nothing like it was when we were kids. who are you to judge anyones parenting skills anyway? I have two daughters, one a teen the other a tween.. I monitor everything they do online. They can't get online unless i give them the wi-fi password (Which i change every so often.) Life is never the same as the previous generation, what is your point? Piss poor parenting is just that. Correct me if i am wrong but the outdoors does still exxist, right? Can't your kids go to the park, or gods forbid read a book? Monitor your damn kids. By the way, it is against the ToS to allow someone else to use your account. Just an FYI for when your kid wants to use it again. Damn right!

Yes, I have two boys, 18 and 22. The younger is entering his last year of high school the older is entering his 4th year at University completing a double Honours BA in Psych and Criminology. So your statement beginning "I'm thinking..." is an oxymoron because your conclusion demonstrates an absence of thought. Additionally, any parent who blindly agrees with sweeping genralizations does not have a valid opinion on parenting, or any other subject for that matter. Who am I to judge? I am a successful parent, that is what gives me the right to judge. If that isn't enough, then I will throw in my 3 degrees in Psychology, Education and History. You see, I am licensed to make exactly those types of judgements.

Then most people will go there just for the money, and will therefore care even less than usual about such things :smileywink: i realize that now for the simple fact that the owner doesn't care what is being said in his room. what bothers me is that it's a G rated room and she is saying some adult things. my son was playing once and she called me a Lag Hag bit*h. i would let him play the games because they are fun. he nor any other teen should hear those things. expecially about thier mother. by your profile you are 19 in RL... I seriously hope you were not letting your child play in SL. Let them play candy crush or angry birds on your phone.. Good lord. And people wonder why todays youth in screwed up. this is my second avatar. she knew my first one so i tried to change somethings in my new ava. i let my name slip one day and she knew who i was then. and my son is actually 17. i know he swears like a saylior but it was the fact that she was saying about me and he saw what she was calling me. that's what bothered me. i let him play nodevil or games like that and i wouldn't let him in an adult room. the room i play in is G rated. i agree that we do let our children play to many advanced games. my 14 year old wants to play the games his friends play. it's hard to be a parent these days. it's not like it was when we were young. too many electronics for them. i'm changing my profile now because i guess it's pointless to keep it. by the way i'm 38 years. In any case, to link another thread with some relevant discussion, I posted a reference to the Variety piece in Perrie's thread "My Opinion About the Next Generation Platform." Ideally, I'd wish to link to the SLU post that brought it to my attention, but that's verboten here, so instead there's Inara Pey's superbly reference-complete blog post today summarizing a raft of recent Sansar information, as well as Ciaran Laval's Thursday blog post about the Variety piece and his Wednesday post citing a related article on MMORPG. (You might think I'm obsessed with Sansar. In fact, I think it's very likely a colossal squandering of opportunity cost, rivalled in SL history only by the stupendous calendar sink of Viewer 2 development. But I still hope I'm wrong.) Thank you Qie! I'm catching up on your posts and linked articles & threads. OMG - We both thought the same thing... We both said "of all Places" in regards to the article, although your use of the phrase in the opening sentence is better than mine. - Jinx! [Oh shucks, you posted before me so you win! ] No wonder the post-lashing a few folks decided to give me. Sheese! I agree with your assessment of the article as well. I too hope Sansar when delivered in 2016 will be a wondrously joyful experience versus a long learning curve experiment in patience. Two things: firstly, Job would be drivien to self-evisceration regarding the length and steepness of the learning curve, secondly, "wondrously joyful", will anything served over the internet ever be wondrously joyful? Don't hold your breath in either case.

You'll pay a yearly fee for a domain and host your land yourself. That was exactly what I did for Highfidelity. I have said it before, the new platform is codeveloped with HF, and there will be some changes that sets it apart, but technically very much the same. No, it's not codeveloped with HiFi. Two different companies. It is only that every time I read or hear something you have said, or others have said (who think they are in the know) I get deja vús about what I see in HIghfidelity. – Which I think is not very good (neither from a technological or marketing perspective.) Precisely Gav. I have seen enough polibiz double speak to be able to see through this as well.

Here's hoping the new 'spaces' aren't big rocks floating in the sky. Please no more rocks floating in the sky! It would be interesting to know how interconnected Project Sansar and High Fidelity are, given that Linden Lab is listed as one of the six major investors in High Fidelity on their website. Be careful Conifer, any suggestion along those lines usally gets met with a hostile rebuke form the LL Sansar fanbois stomping their little feet screaming, "It isn't the same!!!!, they are two completely different companies!!!!, it is a whole new platform that is completely different!!!!, and it IS going to be wonderful!!!"
