  1. to be clear: this is not about role play. This is about real people who are really vampires.... well, at least in their own minds. I know there has been a lot of past vampire drama in these forums. Let the healing begin. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2015/07/09/researchers-vampires-are-people-too-and-deserve-acceptance-by-medical-professionals/
  2. I'm thinking there is something wrong when I see this: ... and I also see this: See? I mean you don't see. See? I mean I can see this: But - to be completely clear - the Experience Tools Forum in the Creation Forum isn't shown as a forum in that forum. edit: Once again demonstrating that you can lead a horse to water but you can't give a clue to a Linden.

I now know my settings for my home and I was able to un ban my friend because of your post. Thank you, also I didn't abandon my home I just didn't look in the right settings to see the info I needed, which were in the settings that you explained. Hahahaha! Nothing is simple. Have a good second life.
  4. Well, the OP seems to have left the building.... so I'll try to explain what happened. The OP thought they needed to have permission to use things in their video. They usually asked for permission. People usually said yes. When a person recently said no the OP mentioned this to a friend who should know things. The friend said 'You didn't ever need to ask for these permissions." Then the OP came here to have that notion confirmed or denied. They were never asking for permission just to be nice. They were asking because they thought it was necessary. When they were told it wasn't they felt no need to be bound by their previous misunderstandings.
  5. It's likely you made more than one change that you've been trying to solve. Most important is that It sounds as if you have abandoned your Linden Home. You didn't say who the current owner is. To get that information: go inside the Linden Home Use the World menu and select either "about land" or "parcel details Select the "General" tab The parcel name and owner are shown on that tab. If you are not the owner it's likely you abandoned your land. You can check if you own any mainland by logging into you Dashboard (secondlife.com) and selecting Land Manager/My Mainland. If you have in fact abandoned you Linden Home you should gather up your objects (take them back into inventory.) Then you can go through the process to get another Linden Home. Details on Linden Homes here: https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Homes/ta-p/700103
  6. ResonantBlackBlood wrote: I tried everything to unban my friend but my land says I do not have promition to change anything with home. My viewer installed an update today I was hopping it would of helpd, but no. I don't understand how I am aloud to add insdie home but yet I do not own it anymore. How can I get back on as owner so I can unban my friend from my home? I do not know what I pushed or if I am not seeing something right. Please help me this is frustrating. :smileymad: From what you wrote it sounds like you are no longer the owner of the parcel you are trying to change. If you provide more details someone may be able to help. Are you renting the parcel? Is it a Linden Home? Is it on mainland? Do you recognize the owner that is showing now?

I think those who initially created this group, and were working on Exp-Tools, have left LL a few month later. I believe I have left the group a couple of month ago, since it has been just a dead group for all the years. arton, I was feeling fully informed. Now I feel fully foolish. Again.

I think he'd appreciate that. ikr I don't know zen but ... well, I'd emptied my mind by filling it with the nothingness of the Advanced Creator Tools Notifications. I mean - it was advanced nothingness for sure. Until arton.
  10. Just a quick update now that a month and more has flown by. I joined the 'Advanced Creator Tools Notification' group. So I've been receiving all the latest notifications about the Advanced Creator Tools (Experience Tools.) This is soooo cool. It's like having a smart phone that keeps telling you all the moment to moment happenings without you having to lift a finger. For those who aren't members of this group I'll pass on the news: nothing. I know it might feel disappointing to some of you. Try not to think of it as receiving nothing. Think of it as being fully aware that nothing has happened. Worth noting or notifying.

Teri ((THat way, it would get all the posts starting, "I'm new here and I hope this is the right place to . . . ")) I'm thinking either you are joking or you are wrong. Let's just talk about where you are wrong. When a person is viewing an area of the 'Community' and decides to login they should land back in the area they were in. Not some favorite of yours. Suppose someone was reading the latest blog posting by the LL. Then they login. And land in answers? I suppose they would be in the right place to ask why there weren't landing back where they were. So while that makes you a tiny bit right it also makes you hugely wrong. See?
  12. KarenMichelle Lane wrote: That's the new default landing page after login... Weeeee At least the auto log out issue is fixed. That was way more annoying. You're entitled to your OPINION about what's more annoying. But that's not what this thread is all about - it's about sumptin' broken for two whole months and still not fixed.
  13. Coby Foden wrote: Yes. I mentioned about that "dropped into the blogs" in this BUG report, created on April 4, 2015: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-8953 Maybe they aren't going to do anything about that one? The random signed out thing seems mostly been fixed though (in my experience). I know. You'd think anyone responsible for fixing the problem would have it fixed by now. How difficult can it be. I mean - the LL wouldn't put someone incompetent in charge of an area would they. On the other hand the LL does clearly let things wait until the responsible person returns from being away... like if they were on vacation.
  14. Okay - it's only been two months but.... It's been two whole months and the thing where you login at the forums and get dropped into the blogs is still happening.
  15. Hi Jack, I didn't know you were still taking comments. Hang in there. We're all rooting for you. - Qwal
  16. Thanks Qie. It's been less than three years since the first experience tools rolled out. Now here we are almost knowing when it's going live. Exciting times. @Love - I'm glad someone is having a good time here. btw - I was shocked to see that my body shape type is now public information. This is a tiny issue to some residents. I'm not going to post about it because I don't like to complain. But what the zippity do da? No need to ask permission before taking a peek at what I used to consider my little secret? I feel naked.
  17. I know some of you are. So I was wondering... if I wanted to get experienced too.. like what's happening? I know the server support is rolling/rolled out but I don't see any recent announcements. The threads I find are many months old. Is the closed beta over? There's a new beta? Post beta? Link me to something current please.
  18. Thanks James (and Qie) for responding. I didn't read carefully enough. Sorry. I hope you're able to work something out on the parcel you're interested in.
  19. Madelaine McMasters wrote: I think it's a combination of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and ignorance. It takes a while to learn how one's actions affect others in SL. Some of us learn faster than others, either by nature or nurture. I recently had to move all of my sky structures because another resident rezzed a huge dome that encroached on some of them and even enclosed one. I'd done such a good job of making my structures innocuous (some are only visible from above, I make their bottom faces transparent) that they didn't know they'd just build their dome under and around them. They were frightfully sorry when I chatted with them and will hopefully be more careful in the future. Fortunately, Firestorm's "Derender + Blacklist" is easy to use. But - then we forget that our neighbor has rezzed a 60 meter high parcel sized stone column to perch their parcel sized house on. Cuz they bought land on the slope of hilly snow land. So my friends visit and say 'gee Qwal, your view is crap' Then I say - derender and blacklist are easy to use.... Then they leave after derendering the first 25 objects. Okay, my friends don't really visit much. I'm trying to make a point here.
  20. and now you cause wonder because... You have contacted all of the agents of a company and none of them respond. So it's puzzling why you would consider doing business with such a business. So I ask you - why?
  21. Sassy Romano wrote: You mean the limits mentioned on that very page in the wiki? HTTP_BODY_MAXLENGTH 2 [ integer length] [ 2048] Sets the maximum (UTF-8 encoded) byte length of the HTTP body. The maximum that can be set depends upon whichVM is used. Mono Max: 16384 LSO Max: 4096 Well, I think maybe yes. Because it isn't clear that the same number applies both coming and going. I suppose I'm thrown a curve by this caveat: The response body is limited to 2048 bytes by default, see HTTP_BODY_MAXLENGTH above to increase it. If the response is longer, it will be truncated. Which makes me think... oh, that's very clear about the response body but what about the request body? Cuz if it applies to both it could have been written so much more generic. So my setting it to 16384 should be good then. I'll check with the other end. Thanks. Edit to add: Fixed my problem with a later version of Bottle. Request body arrived intact & then confused the earlier Bottle version.
  22. I am a tiny avatar. But this isn't about me. I have a script that sends http [HTTP_METHOD, "POST"] requests to an outside server. I can see in the wiki how to set the maximum body size of the response to an http request. I don't see any mention of the maximum body size that can be sent. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlHTTPRequest I've gotten some hints there is a limit on one or both ends due to some truncation. Anyone know what the LL limit is, if any?
  23. I think nothing is lost by removing this forum. On the other hand It took several years to remove the 'Second LIfe Viewer Basic Mode' forum. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say there were never any threads there regarding Basic Mode. That is if you exclude the ones saying there was no need for a forum about "Second Life Viewer Basic Mode." So I wouldn't invest any effort in pursuing this.
  24. Really this may be one of those situations where working on it while still not working on it is win-win. And I mean for everyone. Or I might be wrong. Well, you know that the JIRA will say awaiting review. Also there is something called Triage... that's a French word maybe. Anyway...don't tell anyone but Triage is actually a type of review. It's the review that's done in the initial stage to decide what to work on first... like priority-wise. Now in this case the LL is working on the problem before deciding what to work on. See? It's like the super efficient version of doing Triage... cuz they skipped it entirely. Now another good thing is going on here. By never doing a Triage the LL leaves the door open to everyone continuing to comment in the JIRA. That way they get maximum dialog with their users. It's totally symbiotic. Okay, they aren't participating in the diolog over there in JIRA land but they are here. It's all connected cloud-wise so just go with the flow. There's another JIRA thing that's happening too...oh yeah. The one where residents don't get their EMailed IMs. It's not assigned to anyone to work on but clearly it's getting worked on cuz the LL is dialoging in the JIRA on that one. And they want more information. More people telling them the names of all the Email systems that are blocking their message and what region they got blocked from. Okay, I admit I don't know if there's anyway to tell if triage has happened or not.... unless you can't comment anymore? Is that still a policy? Maybe it's like the no voting policy where you can still vote to bring back voting.
