  1. Sandbox is ok, though nothing special... I have a quiet one, or build on my land (one of the reasons to hold premium, the other is the so-called support).

But FURNITURE? SORRY? Thank you, i BUILD furniture...... so this "gift" is a nice kick in the behind.

How about upping the stipend a bit, so people can buy from content creators the furniture they want, and enliven the economy a bit?

Or give something only Linden can, More prims for Mainland-Parcels, more than 512m2 free, a more generous, or even fitted Tier, maybe even the offer to set up a new sim without paying 1000 dollars setup free?

I bet it was good business for "The Loft"..

  2. Great shot against all kind of edicational stuff in SL.

Sorry, i just dont understand your business politics anymore.... You WANT People to leave?

You know, i would love to have a homestead, but no way i would pay for a full Region at THOSE prices first, other grids are just cheaper in that, so what dies Linden have, at PRESENT the biggest grid, do you want to keep being the biggest? Then i would rather make the ground fruitful for educators to set up camp, rather than drive them away.

  3. "Web profiles tend to load slower than old-style sidebar profiles"

OLD STYLE is not having to use the dumb sidebar at all....

Frankly im NOT happy that my Profile in the future will be searchably by Google.. why?

Out of the same reason i dont court Facebook, Twitter and all other "i sell my privacy for free, Advert me please" - sites.

Im sorry to criticize you here Torley, you seem the only Linden interested in your customers (And yes, nice Av )

It's odd that the blog post only obscurely hints at what lays ahead: the current SL profiles system is being thrown out the window in favour of web profiles à la AU; much like the old search system was thrown out the window in favour of a web-only viewer 2 search.

Hey guys - This issue isn't being ignored - it actually has a team assigned and is making good progress. The Profiles team is working on pulling profiles out of the sidetray and viewer XUI entirely and turning them into web assets that can either be viewed/edited from the viewer or from your dashboard.

This means that when you search for someone and click on their name, that persons profile will open in the search floater, or you will be able to open it in a new floater (just like opening a link in a new window in a web browser). Opening a profile from your friends list, or chat, or another area will pop the profile open in a larger, resizable webkit floater in the middle of your screen. Opening multiple profiles can open multiple floaters, and each floater will allow you to drag-and-drop an inventory offer.

The first project deliverable is to provide parity between current profile features, with a bit of a style refresh. After profiles become web data (instead of stuff embedded in the viewer) we'll be able to more quickly provide new profile features, allow new ways to access and edit your profile, and generally make them more useful.

So, as you think about tear-off sidetray tabs, please keep in mind that the "my profile" tab will be going away entirely, and that others' profiles will no longer be displayed in the sidetray.

New stuff like selling us to facebook easier? To note, all those "Join MyTwitBook today" links are annoying.

@Theme: Yeah seems to be common in the sharkpool of business... Buy it, Slaughter it, Kill it.

I wont miss the site..(though im sad its the next after OnRez and Xstreet).... but i feel concerned about the non SL-Users on that site.
