  1. If the account was actually deleted, you will not find the profile via search, but if you have an item created by the person, you can still get the profile by clicking the creator via properties. The original account never 100% goes away. It has been stated and shown, time and again, that SL is not RL - and many, many things are done differently in SL than in RL. RL anything is not really an argument for why something should or should not be done in SL.
  2. I'm frustrated with the current crankiness on the forums, but overall I'm still doing better than I've been. My daughter and her boyfriend flew in last night, so nice change of pace here. And I actually slept 6 solid hours last night before waking up the first time. Been a while since I've experienced that.
  3. Live chat is available every day during core hours for Premium accounts: Start Live Chat: https://support.secondlife.com/start-chat/ Live Chat is available 6am to 3pm PST every day. You could also possibly contact Billing, as I'm sure LL would be eager to help you continue to pay them money: Billing support phone numbers Toll-Free (US/Canada): 800.294.1067 Long-Distance: 703.286.6277 Our Billing team is available from 9am to 6pm EST(6am to 3pm PST), Monday through Friday. If the above fails, just open a ticket: Create a Support Ticket: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  4. Chain mail is supposed to be leather backed. You'll be dancing around the battlefield like a fairy..."oww....ooh....eek....ouch.." and will give yourself a very painful "Brazillian" when you take it off brother! 🥴 Reality be damned - he wouldn't look near as hot
  5. I know exactly how it's received. Why wouldn't I? If you are not in the 'boomer' age group, with the dismissive phrase directed at you, how could you truly know how it is received. Heaven forbid someone not in the millennial age group make a comment about 'knowing how the millennials feel' about something.
  6. I'm not so sure that video card is good enough to run SL. If it is a laptop, ensure that the SL program is not defaulting to an even worse graphics card - some laptops have two.
  7. So, if Catwa decided she'd had enough of this place and decided to leave and actually have her account deleted, it would be okay for someone else to come along and reuse the name? There are many other creators in SL from long ago that have left, some of which have actually had their accounts deleted, but they are still listed as the creator of the things they made. Why should someone else get to use that name now that the original person is gone?
  8. Contact Support and open a JIRA with screenshots.
  9. Don't worry, having a cluttered unorganized inventory is sort of an SL right of passage. Many of us have been here for over a decade and still much of our inventory is an unsorted mess.
  10. No, it came from Bye Felipe, which itself came from online messages in which men become abusive after women turn them down. There was a particularly famous one from some plank called Felipe, if memory serves. And they say millennials don't know anything useful. Everything I can find about the phrase, says that it did indeed come from the movie Friday. I can't find any other origin.
  11. I'm not all that hip, but didn't that come from some movie like Boyz in the Hood? I had never heard that phrase, so had to look it up. Apparently, it came from a scene in Friday - something I never saw, hence why I never heard this phrase.
  12. The young versus old has always been a thing. The older generation likes to pass on what they consider to be wisdom and advice, things learned over many years. The young, typically think that their viewpoint is correct, that their way of new evolved thinking is superior. This has been going on for generations. It was the same when I was in my teens, and again when I was in my 20s, 30s, etc.... Sometimes the older ones really are correct and sometimes the younger ones are. (yes, lots of generalizations there) I typically saw my mother in a negative light anytime she offered any advice on a situation when the advice differed from whatever I was doing. Looking back, as older ones tend to do, sometimes she was right and sometimes not. Yet we were both sure of our own viewpoints at the time. That didn't make either of us gensplaining to the other or being condescending just because we refused to agree -- or because we just flat out couldn't understand/see the other point of view. Disagreeing with the point of view of someone younger/older than us or expressing our point of view is not necessarily 'gensplaining'. Regardless of how 'OK, Boomer' started out, it has become a total put-down, a complete dismissal of the other person and their viewpoint. Anyone using the phrase, at least in forum arguments, loses respect points in my eyes -- and yes, I know that many don't care about that either. (side note - ditto for anyone referring to another person as 'Karen' if that is not truly their name).
  13. Fixed There was pretty close to 24 hours between your initial 'poor me' post and the last picture that brought the issue back up.
  14. This ^^. So now, anytime I see/hear someone say 'OK Boomer', they immediately go on my list of folks that I have very little respect for. Anyone using the Karen diss is also on that list.
  15. It had been quite a while since I checked on grocery times. Delivery is still running a couple of days out, but I was able to order the items I forgot to get, plus a few more that my husband thought of, for him to pick up tomorrow late morning.
  16. We have 2 of the ones with the bendable strip - they are even N-95 ones - but they still do not fit tight enough across the top edge. Maybe we've washed and reused them too many times. Maybe if I tighten the elastic a bit, since elastic tends to stretch too much after repeated wearings.
  17. It is still really hard to get delivery times here. Maybe time to start spending a bit more time trying to get one --- or at the very least I could order everything and go pick it up. They have special parking spots for that and they bring it to the car. Even if I had to put a mask on to get out and talk to the person, it would only be for a minute or two. Of course that also requires thinking ahead -- which I did not do very well when we went to the store Monday morning, which is why I went again today.
  18. Another reason I hate them damn masks -- besides feeling like I can't breathe at all, when I do breathe, I always end up with fogged glasses resulting in short-term blindness. The perils of having to wear glasses.
