  1. Thank you for replying. I have my DD at 32 or 64 depending on how laggy it is and I use Low graphics. I don't have all the features on either, just basic shaders, bump mapping, transparent water, and i think atmospheric shaders. Mesh objects are all on medium, particles 512, Post process quality i never touch so it won't be high and nor is Max complexity.

Last night was a sim with 2 other people and only one was within 100m of me.

  3. Over the last few weeks I've seen a major increase in lag - and I mean major. Half the time I visit a sim (with just 2-3 other people) and I just can't move. In 10 years I've never experienced this and SL is suddenly using a lot more resources on my laptop - 4 times as many.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

  5. "Islands" it is important to note (mostly for new folks that might be confused) can be made in ANY low land by terraforming. This particular plot has plenty of adjoining neighbors, so it isn't actually an island as most folks would suspect. There are waterways but some of those could disappear in a flash.

'Only' if the land allows and not all mainland goes down to sea level. it also connects to protected sea -- so there will always be sea access.

  6. A friend of mine has just lost approx 10k items from their inventory. We've gone through all the procedures to try to recover it - nothing. Some of these were purchased but there were also items which he'd built himself. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue in the last few days and anyone got any bright ideas outside the normal advice given. (and yes he's sent a ticket but without actual names I guess nothing will happen)
