So the sales efforts are coming from in world but I think they are still going to MP for ease. Yes - visit the store to see and sit and check it out, then buy from Marketplace because there are better records.
  2. The reviewer says ... "Junk. dont even buy not worth it even if it was free" That sort of review is worth nothing because it's an unsupported opinion. No reasons given. If the review had said: "Poor construction: edges of prims have gaps between them, textures misaligned, floors at strange angles, doors don't open" then I would pay some attention to it.
  3. Juicy Littlething wrote: Hi Nefertiti! From your post, I will assume that you are renting from someone else (your land lord), so you'd probably pay a rental box. Some land barons have PayPal option, but most will rez a rental box in 1-2 weeks increments, or monthly. When you pay the rental box, it will reflect the time that's left, and remind you when tier is due again, so you just come back and pay it when it's due. If your landlord doesn't have a rental box, you just pay them directly in increments agreed beforehand. No, I stated that I bought the land from the landlord - he always said he would offer land to his tenants first if he got out of the mainland sim rental business, and he did as he promised. Now that I don't have the rental box, I was wondering what the procedure is. Richie's explanation worked ... they'll take iot from PayPal if I don't have USD in my SL account. I checked right after I bought the parcel, but apparently records had not updated yet.
  4. I abandoned land (mainland) yesterday and was given the "You have 24 hours" notice. All the Release note says is: "Changed abandoned land behavior: parcels abandoned on the Mainland are no longer automatically made available for sale." I would interpret it as meaning that after land has reverted to Gov Linden as owner (after the 24 hours oopsie time) that LL will be looking at land to decide whether to set it for sale as is, or if it makes sense to subdivide, join parcels, clean up boundaries or shut down that sim.
  5. I've been shopping mesh demos and so far, even if I accept their shapes and wear the transparent things, it's pretty ugly. So far nothing has been worth buying the non-demo version, although I am beginning to figure out how to texture them. It doesn't truly stick to the avatar. A skirt that looks great when standing turns into a lapful of puffy stuff when my Avi sits. The best use of mesh so far is for tall boots.
  6. Thanks. I searched but didn'ty see that page. Apparently I can just leave it at Paypal and it automagically happens.

So literally, the amount of prims I need are ..well none if there is a pose stand and I can open boxes. I have a pose stand in the skybox, and if you want to join my group I can let you rez things. Cheap or free. IM me in-world. The tunes? You have to make that happen on your own, like maybe stream Pandora into your headsets
  8. My long-time landlord has decided to sell off his parcels and as he promised, he offered it to his tenants first. So I bought it. When does the bill come due? How do I pay it? PayPal? From my Linden Balance? Dollars in my SL account? How long do I have to pay it?
  9. I am not sure this is the right forum but I have a home that has a basement and needs to be on land that can be teraformed but I live on flat land that cannot be altered..is there anyway I can build something on the base of this house so that the basement is hidden? If you dojn't want to add decks and terraces to hide the basement, look on the marketplace under Home and Garden, then Landscaping, then Caves and Grottos There are hills you might be able to use next to your basement. Just be sure they are flat on one side or it fills your basement. If there aren't any, a basement-hiding 1/2 hill would be a good product.
  10. What you need, if all you want are the URLs of the products is something like this: (Windows Only) http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/url_string_grabber.html Set the view to 100 and run it on each page of product. All the < A href strings will go to your products and there are duplicates) The front part of the URL is going to be https://marketplace.secondlife.com
  11. I also had problems with several third-party viewers. they would open and stop at a black screen. The culprit for that were the @$%$% KDE modules known as Nepomuk and Akonadi sucking up so much CPU time that nothing else could run. I disabled them and Firestorm runs just like it used to.
  12. it's Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) And I'm about to download something else.
  13. I had a forced update to this Linux viewer SecondLife-i686-3.4.3.268262 Now every time I try to open the viewer it briefly shows me the login screen and crashes BEFORE I can click the log-in button. WTF is going on?
  14. I think you need a pose stand. Stand on the pose stand, then right click the hair and select edit. Even no-edit hair can be moved around.
  15. It might also be something in the item description field. Try it with no keywords and see what happens. Add one keyword at a time and see what happens.
  16. So you want "central casting"? That would be an excellent idea. There are some shape and skin designers who do "middle-aged" avatars. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/28692 Atea Aeon has some, and I have seen others (some even free) for average and realistic humans. Send me an IM in-world and I can rummage through my collection. I have a reasonably good looking Asian housewife, mature asian male, and can probably give you the name of the shop where I got some others.
  17. Some merchants have the SLURL in each listing set to land the customer right at the vendor, or at least in the general area of the product. If they changed the general SLURL of their store to a new lobby, they might not want all their carefully selected landing points to be mass changed.
  18. Do you mean the body's UV maps like Chip Midnight's, or actual clothing templates that show me where to draw to make things show up on a blouse, that control sleeve length and leg length, etc.? Two different things.
  19. Deja Letov wrote: Maybe I could just move a few products each week instead of all at once. This could let me build them up without taking them all down to zilch so quickly. Start by creating and posting some NEW products in the alt's name opf the type you want it to specialize in, and then when it's getting some sales move a couple of the older items a week into the new store. That will minimize your financial hit.
  20. Texture animation - shows texture, moves it the offset, shows it again So you should be able to do it by using llSetTexture and then running through the animation offsets with llSetTextureAnim (without LOOP) then setting the next desired texture, animating it ... etc. this has a 4x4 grid of animation poses, continuous loop ================ default { state_entry() { llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | LOOP, ALL_SIDES,4,4,0,0,14.0); } }
  21. It's common for a merchant to become aware of a decline and attach a recent event to it as a cause. "Since __insert_event____ I have seen my sales falling off the cliff!" Usually it's something Linden Labs has done with search, or parcels or something. Sometimes it's seasonal - my sales of things that relate to Christmas decor have climbed, and if I didn't have them, I'd be seeing a drop. You have a lot of competition for customersn in the "cuddle furniture" market. I looked at your marketplace, and you are not very diversified. If they don't buy sex beds, there goes your income. Can you make some seasonal decor? Like a snow-globe sex bed?
  22. Define "Alternative" please. Or link to some mpictures so we can see what you mean. Because when I think of "alternative clothing" for men, I think of pink frilly tutus.
  23. Don't buy mesh if there isn't a demo - some people have shapes it fits, others don't. I was disappointed because altrhough it may look OK for some things, when you sit in a mesh skirt it bulges up (doesn't follow gravity) and lumps up in your lap. I discarded the demos and didn't buy the real thing.
  24. My name is Kajl (Kyle) and I've thought up an idea over the past few months that is appealing to businesses in SL that are based on honesty and fairness, If you are a fair and honest business owner, please contact me in game for more info, I feel posting all the information here will be overwhelming, 1 - If I were a sleazy and dishonest business owner, I'd lie and pretend to be all upright and honest. Wouldn't I? 2 - How can posting it all here one time for everyone to see, read and comment on be more "overwhelming" than dealing with individuals, explaining the same thing over and over again via chat, IM and notecard? If it's worth explaining, it's worth explaining in writing and in public. (Edited because I can't type)
