OR Search at Google for this: Second life tutorial clothing You will come up with hundreds of pages. For creating the clothing, I use the free graphics editing program, the GIMP from www.gimp.org
  2. Check the permissions on everything in that product box. It sounds like you havew something there that is no-copy or no-transfer.
  3. So based on one person's statement, and your experience, you concoct this conspiracy to make old Linden alts show up better in the Marketplace? My products keep showing up where I expect them to. That's because the title and the first sentence of the description are descriptive. Oops, I must be part of the conspiracy. My join date is 9/26/2006
  4. I hate them. I only use them for hunts, to get the visitor's attention and make sure they know where the hint box is.
  5. Josh Susanto wrote: Part of my theory (as explained elsewhere) is that the chief malefactor has borked search order to favor accounts older than 2 years because he/she intentionally uses a merchant acount that is older than his/her identity as a Linden. Give me plausible means, motive and opportunity for how this person can manipulate search to favor this person's alt/merchant. It requires influencing the requirements team to get "increase weight for merchant age" into the search requirements, or being soooo high ranking that the dev team and market managers just say "Yes, of course boss, we'll jigger the search for you". Who has that much weight to throw around? OR it means the person managed to get access to the right set of development servers (did they steal a password, call in favors to get a log-in ID, or what?), log in to the correct project, check out the right part of the code, alter the code, debug the code, test the code, check the code back in, and make it invisible to the testing process so the test cases turn out right but make it active only on the Marketplace.
  6. Send me an IM in SL ... you have some things that might sell at my parcel. It's an M-rated sim, but my products are Disney-clean and so is the entire sim. I make 95% of my sales from the Marketplace ... but if you want to try a vendor in world, I'll give you a few months to try it out.

  8. IM me in-world ... I'll let you put one Magic box on one of my sims (quiet mainland residential) for a few months for a really CHEAP rental. I may make you change the shape and texture to make it look like a rock or a bush, but they work no matter ewhat they look like.
  9. Madeliefste Oh wrote: Some marketplace jiras are still assigned to Grant Linden, so they are just sitting there to gether dust? The assignee name on a bug report doesn't prevent others from seeing it. If Quibbling Linden takes over Grant's bugs, Quibbling can log on and look for the bugs assigned to Grant, work on them and report fixes without changing the name.
  10. WADE1 Jya wrote: For those who can't see mesh.... they just see spheres & donuts rendered in place of the mesh items. I feel forced to make a seperate mesh area... and parallel to this, a non-mesh area --- and there is still the problem that if non-mesh viewer users go in the mesh area or even have it in their periphery view from a distance -- things looks real ugly! Don't worry about this ... it may be ugly, but those who don't update can just suffer with the ugly for a while. Isn't simply not rendering mesh for incompatible viewers a much better option? Too hard to program, and I'd be annoyed if my mesh dress VANISHED for anyone with an older viewer.
  11. The commission is calculated on the total amount of the sale. Did they both buy only one thing from you in that transaction? Of someone buys a 9L item, commission is ZERO If someone 2 9L items from me in the same purchase ... I pay commission on the total transaction.
  12. If you buy mainland, you eliminate the landlord hassle because Linden Labs is your landlord. You will have to pay the "purchase" price and then a monthly land use fee in USD$. If you rent from someone (mainland or not) you skip the initial purchase price, but run the risk that your landlord will be a flake and you lose the parcel.Normally you pay in-world in Lindens. $15/month is the land use fee for 2,048 square m ... that's a largish parcel with 248 prims for your use. I have a 1024 with 234 prims and its adequate for my purposes. Your 30x35 house requires 1,050 square meters ... that's HUGE! Skyboxes ... they are the same as a house. You have to own the land directly under them.

I'm just curious because I've been deleted and deleted others for a number of reasons. all replies appreciated. Thanks. They were on my friends list for a specific project, and the project isover They haven't been on-line in months they pissed me off it's no more significant than clearing out your holiday card list

Catwise Yoshikawa wrote: I just notice they did edit some text in Knowledge Base about shopping in the Marketplace that could be the reason for people buying things while they are not logged to SL and making them to lose they purchases because the capped delivery. Now you can read: -------- After you buy After purchasing an item, log into Second Life. You will see a notification like this in your Second Life Viewer: Click the Keep button to confirm you want the item. -------- English is not my mother tongue, but reading this I understand that I can buy items while I'm not online and login later with no problems. Thought they should be logged while they are buying things. It's complicated: A purchase counts as an IM because of the way the purchases are sent, so IF you are offline and your IMs get "capped" (you have too many unread ones) the purchase will fail just like any IM. I found out the hard way when I went on a buying spree and half my purchases failed. IF you have your IMs forwarded to e-mail - as I do now - you can buy as much as you like, whether you are on or off line with no problems.
  15. Josh Susanto wrote: Nefertiti's advice about not rushing the system is not at all dangerous. But 3 things that are even more important about your box: 1) Location 2) Location 3) Location What location characteristics are important, important, important? I've read that mainland is good/bad, that altitude matters/doesn't matter, that nearby scripts matter/don't matter .... All I can say is that with an object in two boxes on different mainland continents - one ground level and one 300m up, one with several near-by scripted objects, I have very few problems.
  16. JT - Make more products for the marketplace. You only have 2 items listed
  17. Contacxt the ORIGINAL designer and let them know. If they choose to do something, they will.
  18. Zhoie - I have far more products in my boxes than you do and have not seen that problem, probably because I don't try to hurry it through. I add the new item or items and wait until the box changes back to its normal color. This can take a minute or more - I have seen it take more than 15 minutes when SL is laggy. Then I log onto the marketplace and click the "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes" button. I wait a few minutes - go get coffee or something - and refresh. One way to crash a database update or query (which is what the box is doing and the sync button is doing - updating the marketplace database; and the refresh button is doing - querying the database to see what has changed for you) is to hammer it with requests while it is in the middle of executing an earlier request. And then it forgets what else was in the box (and you see product vanishing) until you let it have enough time to do a full re-inventory of what it has. It is possible that you are borking the synchronization by trying to synch before the scripts in the box have finished their updates, and hammering the database with refresh queries. NOTE: My 3 boxes (textures, animals, everything else) are on a mainland sim, about 300 feet up in a skybox. There are a few scripted objects in the skybox. I have a duplicate set of boxes on another mainland sim on another continent.
  19. Unless you can pay some high hourly rates for a private tutor, join one of the in-world groups that teaches building and texturing, and take their classes. Builder's Brewery Happy Hippos etc. Look in the EDUCATION tab of the events schedule for classes.
  20. Marcus Hancroft wrote: Pamela Galli wrote: The reason you don't hear complaints is that with Xstreet you would upload a picture completely, which sometimes would take several minutes, then click the button again etc. It was just awful. What we have now is far from ideal but a huge time saver. But this is what we have to do NOW. What I'm asking is if there is a way to upload photos in bulk to a listing like we can inworld INSTEAD of one at a time? And if not, WHY not? I can think of one excellent reason ... if it were extremely easy, then many more people would upload the maximuim number of pictures, the servers would fill up faster, response time would be slower ... etc. By making it less easy, you really have to need all eight pictures to go to the effort of uploading them.
  21. They are downloaded, and in the right directories. The installation instructions forgot to tell me how to activate them. Now what? I restarted SL and it's as ugly and unreadable as ever.
  22. I can't read the white-on-black text on V2 ... for opthamological rewasons I need to have DARK text on Light background. How to I alter the colors in the menus andthe toolbars to be readible. If it's not possible, what viewer can show me mesh and readible menus at the same time?
