  1. If the object is scripted, you can turn on beacons for scripted items, and you'll see its location as you get closer to it. I'm not sure where that is in your menus, but it's worth a try. Also, can you check for wearing it by detaching ALL items.
  2. Tasish wrote: If all Guides would be like yours we'd have a World of Experts. Thank you. Do you also know how to completely cut out the Background? When i cut out something theres still a fine line around the Object with a mixed Color of the Background and Object. Make the selection of what you want, then shrink the selection 1 pixel or 2 pixels before you copy it and paste it on a new image.

  4. BornToObey Sideshow wrote: @peggy paperdoll No, read it , sorry but blank spaces and return to line have not been taken in count. I don't asl free land with ANY obligations.... At the opposite, I want free lands only when it help LL to get their lands back, by giving them a way to fight about some who buy 2 sqm in a land, to try to get it at a lower price. And secondary, as I have say, ther is no right at all for squatting: you can get it for 2 weeks, or for 2 years, it just depend on when SL will be able to sold it. This make a HUGE difference with people renting a parcel.. Thanks for your answer, it make me explain better LL can take those tiny parcels whenever it wants to ... squatters are not needed.
  5. If you get good at building - which you can do without owning land by using sandboxes - you can sell things on the marketplace and make enough money to rent land. But you seem to think you deserve free land because ...??? I failed to find a good reason. If there is a small ad-farm chunk in the middle of a parcel I wanted, I would file a dupport ticket and ask that it be merged. it's not a problem.

Cindafukinrella wrote: Is there any way to make a texture for a sculpted prim easier than just making loads of textures and hoping I land in the right spot in regards to where I want things to go on the texture? I have bought something that came with the sculpt maps but no texture maps and I need to make my own texture for it. Look me up in-world or in the marketplace, TP to my parcel in Peronaut, and take the Teleport to the skybox classroom. I have a self-paced tutorial and class supplies there that explains how to texture sculpties.
  7. One thing to remember is that many sliders are affected by the settings of another slider ... especially the face sliders. Cheekbone and nose settings affect eye shape, jaw and chin settings affect mouth settings. The most common head flaw I see are the "Jay Leno" chins on female shapes.
  8. I made some acid-proof gloves and a mad scientist coat for a friend, and a clipboard to carry. I really need to put that on the marketplace - it's still cute.
  9. Camron Solo wrote: In still understanding how permissions work I was wondering... Let's say I create a texture that I would like to sell. I put COPY, MOD, and NO TRANS on the texture. The purchaser would still be able to use this in their creations with it NO TRANS, yes? The only thing no trans should prevent them from doing is transferring the texture to someone else. But it should not prevent them from doing anything else as far as applying the texture to something they want to make and sell, right? Thanks in advance! If you have a no-transfer texture, you can't give the texture or a copy of it to anyone else. ALSO you can't sell any object the texture is applied to either. The only textures that are useful to people who create content they intend to sell are full-perm ones.

  11. danicah wrote: Just wondering if its allowed to name a clothing store in SL after a RL brand name for noodles, soup or whatever. Theres alot of nice brand names for food, snacks ect. so i'm just wondering if i could get in trouble if i would give my clothing store in SL one of these names? Does anyone know? It's a trademark issue. Go to this website uspto.gov and search for the trademark names you are hoping to use. Read what they have trademarked it for ... and don't use it for the same things. EXAMPLE: "Baja Fresh" is a chain of fast food mexican grills. I look them up and see this: Goods and Services IC 043. US 100 101. G & S: restaurant services. FIRST USE: 20080814. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20080814 So, if I want to do a line of beach clothing, I'm OK. Anything food-related would be not OK. If they had also trademarked it for a line of clothing, I couldn't use it for clothing.
  12. One common reason for this is that the person forgets that user@hotmail.com and user@hotmail.com.br (or other country) are not the same. I have a Brazilian slang word for my hotmail address, and get a lot of stuff for the person who is using the same word at hotmail.com.br ... including his or her SL messages. I just sent an IM telling them that theuir mail needed to be fixed.
  13. One thing you can do is make sure the ad's title very clearly states "for Zooby Prim Baby". If someone reports the item for being mis-placed, the mods are not going to read the entire ad before deciding what to do. They will go by the title and the picture and maybe take one glance at the first paragraph. EXAMPLE: "Baby Letter Jacket" should be "Letter Jacket for Zooby Prim Baby" If I search for Prim Baby Letter Jacket, I don't find it. And that's hurting your sales.
  14. Did you try Syncing it from here ... On your Manage Inventory page you should see a button at the upper right, above the list of inventory (or where is should be) labeled "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes" Click that and see what happens. I'm seeing things in your shop - poses - but maybe they aren't in your inventory list?
  15. NiaSilk Pearl wrote: Thanks Pussycat I will check out Lyrical. Question what does it mean when free items are a demo or says demo? It means that there is a stamp in a prominent place that says DEMO, or some other means of making the skin usable to check the looks but not wearable for public appearances.
  16. So out of a total 1695427 marketplace items, approx 45% of them are listed at 0 to 100L$. Nearly half of the marketplace items are valuIed at less than 100 L$ Yes, they are. And suddenly - faced with some facts about the number of freebies and cheapies, it's not the free and <10L items you are whining about, it's everything under $100L. Nice mobile goalposts you have there. That's not good for Linden Labs and not good for creators I think you need to prove that point. It's been VERY good to me, as a player and a creator. Digital goods and the skills needed to create digital goods are being devalued. Maybe you feel devalued, but I don't. But the main issue with 0 - 10L$ content is PRODUCT PLACEMENT. This low quality, low cost content should not take up the first pages when searching Relevance. Your assumption that low price automatically means low quality has not been proven. It appears that your gripe is that your alt's higher priced stuff is not on the first page. Free and cheaper content should not be given priority placement. Linden Lab don't make any decent commission from it and the merchant themselves don't make any real money. If Linden Labs was not making enough money on the free and cheaper content, they could ban it or increase the commissions. It appears that you would like to ban the lower-priced competition to increase your alt's income. It's all bad. It devalues the marketplace and obscures good quality content. Still conflating higher price with higher quality, eh?
  17. ralph Alderton wrote: 10L$ content is bad for everybody including the people who make it. It degrades the value of virtual goods and is degrading to content creators. OK, I'm degraded! But my mostly $9L products are paying the rent on my parcel, paying my premium account dues, and I have lindens left over to upload more cheap products, buy things from other creators, and donate to sandboxes to keep them open.
  18. And Ralph appears once again with his rant about freebies destroying SLAWKI (Second Life As We Know It). But when I check the marketplace, I don't see what the problem is. 1,695,433 items found. (I removed the Real estate listings, which are all ZERO, and it's PG and M listings) L$0 – L$ 10 > 148,919 L$11 – L$100 > 627,625 L$101 – L$500 > 752,051 L$501 – L$1,000 > 110,289 L$1,001 – L$5,000 > 52,827 Over L$5,000 > 3,716 8.7835379% of the listings are for 10L or less. Yes, imminent doom is upon us. REPENT!!! REPENT!!!

I opened it up and then it came with a user agreement stuffs and all that, which was not listed in the purchase before hand. I did not agree to alot of their what i view exterme terms. I asked for a refund they refused. So now am somewhat in a bitter place, of well legely they did not give me notice before I purchased and they will not refund. Do I know hold the right to use them as I see fit, as they did not make any warning of a user agreement before purchase? If the product listing in the marketplace said "full perms" ... it's full perms. That was the contract they offered in the sale page, and the one you agreed to hwen you clicked the buy button. Make a screenshot of the sale page in case they try to inflict the user agreement on you. I'd be annoyed enough to file an AR for "Item not as advertised" if anyone did something stupid like that with a product I bought.
  20. That's funny, I don't find that list - when clicking on your name I see just your profile. The list of items should show up when it loads. 1) The item itself will not appear in search results TRUE ... the parcel will show up, click on the parcel and the list of things on the parcel appears (after leg) 2) Your shop will also not appear in the search result either, since there is not a way of registering your shop. Only if you control the whole parcel. If I were to rent a shop, I owuld want the area under the shop to be subdivided out so I could have it show in search. The whole parcel may come out in the search result, but not your shop, is what I am hearing. For your specific shop to get attention it seems you need a paid classified ad, although I still don't understand how these are ranked.... OR find a shopping area where the individual shops are independent parcels.
  21. Josh - Remember, the tinfoil hat must be worn shiny side out. For those of you who slept through English classes, the bolded, underlined phrase is a modifier that modifies the phrase that precedes it. This has been fixed in our development environment and is currently being tested for a release to production next week. For those who have no software development and testing experience, large projects are typically created, improved and debugged in one set of computers (the "development environment"), then the changes are tested in a second set of computers (the test environment), before being inflicted released to the users in the "production" environment. What this means is that they found a bug and and fixed it. They are now trying various tests to see if the bug that was fixed makes the problem go away before they upgrade all the servers we use.
  22. DanielNX wrote: I have a shop in world. When I set up a box for sale (in world) I have the option to tick for "show in search". So I do that, but which search exactly? The in-world search: Your shop or Parcel and then the Name and the Description of the item will show up EXAMPLE: Search ALL for African Elephant ... you see my parcel pop up. Click on my name and you will load a list of the things I have for sale. Scroll down and there is the elephant listed, with the coordinates and sale price. It helps if you have each prim named so it describes what it is, with a good description. You can also name vendors to describe what is in them. In my parcel, each shop building has at least one prim named to describe the contents fo that building. I think it's the sign at the door. And, I see that I have to make sure that stupid lantern (not for sale) gets unchecked so it's not in my search results.

Yes, turns out the texture on the box was no-transfer! LOL! Thanks for your help. Glad to help. I've done almost all the silly things possible, including that one.
