  1. Delivery Issues Fix I just posted a simple fix to delivery failures. I'm not sure why Linden keeps this a secret. If you ask for help on deliveries, they sure don't give this one. I got this from another merchant a long, long time ago. It works.
  2. This is often caused by Magic Boxes that are no longer in use but are showing up in your Magic Boxes listed on the old XStreet panel. When you move a box by taking into inventory and out, it will be listed every time you move it in Magic Box Registered Servers. Or, if you no longer use one, it will still be listed. This seems to cause a lot of failures. So, do the following. 1. On your Merchant Status Page, click on Magic Box Status. Then Click "cancel" so you will go to X Street." at the bottom of the page you will see all your boxes. Remove all of them. 2. Now, go in world and reset your box. 3. Go back to your Merchant Status Page and Manage Inventory and Synch Magic Boxes with MP. if anyone has additional info, please post it, because I am going on memory here. This solved all my delivery issues.
  3. Well, at least you are finding male items. My partner complains all the time that there are not enough men's items. He especially dislikes the hair for men in SL. I think nice items are out there, but you have to search for them. Merchants might not have enough men's items to showcase them. I used to sell a some men's items, but never sold them, so just stopped putting them out. You might try going to stores that are just men's clothing, but there are not as many. My partner is somewhata conservative which really narrows things down for him.
  4. In reading the release notes it says, " purchase and list items using Direct Delivery on Aditi" What are we purchasing? What am I not understanding. We have to pay for listing?
  5. For my 2 cents... It's taken me 2 years to learn to make clothing. 2 years of full time learning... I mean 8-10 hours a day. I didn't know Photoshop, or Gimp. I settled on PS and dug in. After busting my arse learning PS and finally getting comfortable with what I make, they roll out mesh! I've had people ask me to help them, but seriously, I haven't time. Making clothing is not easy. It's much easier to build other items. Making clothing requires skills in a graphic program. Good skills. Then, after making them, there is the photoshoots, the packaging and the marketing! It's not easy. So, back to your original post. If you feel you want to learn to make clothing, learn graphic programs, watch tutorials, read, read, read... Also go to the builder classes. I still get something from those. Be ready to be dedicated, or, like many I know, after one or two outfits of lesser quality, they quit. It isn't for the faint of heart!
  6. I have to laugh. It reminded me of when I was a noob and I couldn't understand why nothing fit! I'd send notecards to designers asking for explainations! Gawd, they must have hated me! Of course now I can edit nano prims. My advice would be to learn to edit your clothing. It's a must in SL. I've never bought out of the box and not had to make changes. It's the nature of all of our unique shapes. Or buy mesh...with the assumption others will have the right viewers. Good Luck!
  7. Did you contact the person you bought it from? Start there. I make my own skirts, prim by prim now. I used to use premade skirts and loop rezzers, but couldn't get anything unique! So, now I slug it out with the prims...one at a time.
  8. Restarts bug me too, because I forget, then rez something not copyable and, Poof, they restart and it's gone. I've lost so much stuff that way. Expensive things, too! I check the grid everyday now, no exeception. It's right on the log in screen. LOOK there. I have to, I build, and builders know what happens during restarts!
  9. Why don't you support the economy and purchase some items? There is plenty of price ranges. And, it's not that expensive to buy in SL. If you do find a free item from a designer, take time to perhaps purchase something else from them. It's nice to remind noobs that there's more to SL than handouts and freebies.
  10. I have this scenero. My house is on one region and my store is next door on another region. It makes for great fun.
  11. I don't find sales any better with front and back or full descriptions. There's no tried and true way to satisfy everyone. Being a designer in SL is extremely hard and time consuming work. I don't make demands of anyone who creates in SL, or disrespect them in forums. Just shop where you find what you want.
  12. Thank u for all this information. Most of it's over my head...but I'm going to study this carefully. I only suffer with flickering with skirts that I wish to make a little transparent. If I use a TGA file with no transparancy, there is problem. If I want a transparent edge say on lace, then PNG's reek havoic. TGA's with masks don't help either. I know that other designers have work arounds so this is info that I seek. I have tried using PNG with transparancy on one side and TGA no transparancy other and have had a little luck but if all files upload to JPEG2000, then maybe I am just thinking things are different when not.

  14. Tonight I was at a local jazz club and a lady was in mesh dress, but to me and most of the ppls there, she was naked from the top up, while her mid section was invisable, and she had a big blob attached to her. I told her she was exposed to most of the attendees, and she told me to embrace technology, and got kinda mad at me for pointing out her nipples. The thing was, the guy next to me was enjoying the view. I don't know what the rules are going to be, but to me, going out in mesh to high traffic areas that have dress codes is risky business at this point, until everyone is viewing mesh at the same time. I realize now I should have minded my own business, but I was just trying to point out that she was exposed. Oh well... Guess this is the wave of the future.
  15. Contact me inworld if you want, I have a set of instructions to resolve this issue. Someone passed it to me.
  16. Erm, I have a small area of 10 L items in my store, and they are nice designs. There is nothing second hand about the quality at all. That does bring in customers who will buy other things. The 10L wall isn't the real problem to me, it's the hunts. I've been in a few this year and 100's of people come to the store but few buy. I do freebies in world, one a week to drive traffic. But my one item is so nothing compared to the sims dedicated to free items. Because there are so many freebies, the 10 L thing is kinda mute... and I don't get the rant. Also, the freebies on MP, other than building tools, have been subpar to me. I rarely buy 10L items myself, but do look for designers who have sales and group items.
  17. You will not be charged if you didn't receive it. Failures on delivery are on Market Place side, not on creator. Double check your transactions to be sure you were charged, send a notecard, not an IM. Merchant's IM's cap, and they do not get them. If that doesn't work, and after a few days, leave a review that the merchant is not giving good customer service. But don't do that unless you were charged and a few days goes by after you send a notecard.
  18. My thoughts: So far I don't like it. I don't want to change my avatar size. I have one size for my built in mesh skirts, but that's it, I just saved it as Shape for Skirts. But changing the avatar all the time is a sure way to lose your original shape. I did write down all the numbers and have a back up, but please... I'm also a designer and it's all Greek to me. They're working on a better system of wearing mesh, and I'll wait, but, I prefer flounce skirts and dresses, not form fitting. Also many shapes are not modifiable!
  19. As a designer in SL, the design is not the hard part. Sorry. It's the work to develope the outfit. 50/50 is not reasonable. The most work comes from the person crunched over Photoshop for hours, and working on prims inworld. You should learn to make clothing. It's tedious work. In fact, it's extremely difficult IMO. As for designs...most creators have their own designs in mind. That's the fun part. Another thing is you have to understand how the clothing in SL is made before you can design it. When you go to design you have to think about many things, such as how something will be reproduced and attached to the avatar. You might create a great design but it might be nearly impossible to recreate it in SL with our limited tools. If you really love to design, learn the tools to make clothing here. But, you never know! Good luck!
  20. I grab eyebrows. Works everytime! I just click and wear them, poof, problem solved.
  21. I wore those free blinking shoes thinking I was so cool in them, when in reality they said NOOB.
  22. Thank you for stating this regarding texture downloads. My place is on Blue Steel and, well, let's just say that since this started, nothing is rezzing at a proper rate. My partner is having worse issues because he runs an older computer system (XP). I was not aware of what had happened until I came here to read about this. I sure hope it's resolved. I even tried V2 to see if things might rez faster, but the issue is just an "issue." Let's hope for fast resolution.
  23. Does anyone know of a good forum for Archipelis? It does seem straight forward in the tutorial, but I'm having serious issues trying to figure out something that is "easy." Their manual isn't very inclusive (IMO). Anyways, any forwarded sites for info on Archipelis is appreciated.
