  1. Thank you everyone. I just registered Team Pamy Bravin and hopefully we can get some kiosk out there and some funds generated for the ACS.
  2. I guess we see now that DD comes out not today as the Jira says but the 21st.
  3. Thank You Dillon, I looked at the website but as I recall they used to have Kiosk that you could host as well. Do you know if anyone still has those and if so, I could get one at my store?
  4. Rollig, do you know of a memorial or something in SL where I could post her name with some flowers? Or is this something people build on their own land?
  5. Thank you very much...we all lost a great resident. Second Life needs more Pamy's.
  6. This was in her profile... Don't strew me with roses after I'm dead. When Death claims the light of my brow, No flowers of life will cheer me: instead You may give me my roses now! Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments...
  7. This is the most difficult post I have yet to make but when I logged in last night, I was passed a notecard from one of my dearest friend's accounts that was from a friend of hers to tell me my dear friend Pamy Bravin had just passed away from Cancer. If you had never met Pamy she was one of the most delightful and fun people I have met in SL. We spent a lot of time terrorizing the role play world, creating new things and discussions on how to save the world. The day she told me she had been diagnosed with Cancer was difficult but I have known other who made it through and have recovered. I had faith she would too. It was a difficult night for me last night and today is not going much better but has changed me. I've been so busy with my own store and my own Second Life, I did not spend nearly as much time as I know wished I had with her in her last days. My own goals and wants seem to insignificant in retrospect to the point that I really need to reconsider what I do in SL. How many others in SL are sick or in days of need that go unattended. How much of my time is spent on me rather than others. If anyone has any ideas of any ongoing efforts to raise funds or assist others in need in SL, please let me know. It's time for me at least, to take a serious step back and do more in SL than throwing images on prims. if you are the praying type, please join me in a prayer for Pamy and her family. She leaves behind a husband and a family that I am sure are suffering far more than any of us are. Rest in Peace my dear friend you will always be missed and your memories will always be cherished.
  8. You have made this same post over 30 times now and the frequency is really building up. This is not how these boards are to be used and you have crossed the threshold into Spam. I can see one a day perhaps but not three at a time.
  9. Does this mean direct delivery is about to get rolled out?
  10. Have them start over by dragging and dropping a default avi folder out of their Library and it will replace everything that he has on with the new stuff. Look for a default avi in their library, any will work and just drag the folder over themselves and drop it on their avi.
  11. Actually I was talking about both and think I made it a bit confusing. The point I was trying to make which I clearly did not was that MP search is actually pretty good compared to in world search and a large part of how people find things since it works so much better than in world search. As far as paying for key words is that yes it could if it was run as the highest bidder. However, if you either limited it to say 5 or 10 key words per listing and/or charged 10L per keyword per week, that would not be too cumbersome for most. But yes, it would favor successful businesses as I believe it should. There are reasons businesses become a success and it's rarely by sheer luck. But as I had said, paying for keywords or limiting them seems to be another controversial area however, I don't seen many other ideas other than "just fix it" or "it needs to be fixed". But ours is not to question why, it's just what we have to work with in this very long and very robust beta test we call SL.
  12. Agreed and the biggest problem with search relevance both in world and the MP since it's inception. Trust me when I tell you this is way better than it used to be since few are around who remember how bad it was. I actually thin k MP search is pretty good since you can drill down by category search. In world is terrible as well but it does work to a small degree in that it captures keywords but most are not accurate in their key words. The system looks at your land name and description first. If these are not accurate or are talking about something else, it throws off the entire system. There also seems to be less relevance to object set to search as it was for a while. An example would be if I had 200 Cowboy Hats for sale and someone else has 2 Cowboy Hats for sale. One would think that the person with 200 would have higher ranking but it does not give much weight to that now. My suggestion to fix this is not very popular as well. I think anyone who pays for a classified should have higher ranking over those who do not. I also think we should be paying for keywords or at the least, limited to how many key words we can use per placement or classified and those keywords have the highest weight in the search algorithm. But we are where we are today. A terrible disservice to both businesses and residents who can't find anything so they do what I think is an intentional traffic driver, they go to MP do their searches there then visit the stores in world.
  13. My RL hubby is named Randall..I sent this to him. He didn't laugh. But, I did.
  14. There will not be a fee unless you dissolve your partnership. Whoever you do that from will have to pay the 25L. If you don't the partnership will remain even if you do delete that toon.
  15. Since the forum launched, there has been very little change which leads me to believe that one day, someone sat down and threw these fields together with some open source software then moved on. As new categories are added the overall usability for most new to the forums suffers and seems to be getting worse. I was going to write a Jira but wanted some input first. Here is what I was thinking for suggestions: Employment posting should be a board and not a forum with two categories. Jobs and Looking for Jobs. Make it easy and someone looking for work can just go and see what is up there. Someone looking to post can just post and it remains there for prospective employers to see. Perhaps even a short resume form? Land listings are the same. They don't need to be a Forum and can just be posted to a board. No one needs to comment so why have that and moreover, why fill up the Recent Post on land? Stickies...why don't we have stickies for common questions? I'm a ghost, I can't TP, how come I can't see mesh and many others that are nearly daily questions. We have some great answers to these from Rollig, Val, Irene and many others have great responses that should be sticky. These are just some ideas but I would love to see what others have to add.
  16. Most abuse reports go completely unanswered and unread. I wouldn't worry about it especially in this case.
  17. If you download directly from the Second Life website, you wont get a virus. I don't know what you mean by Sade as I dont use torrents but you can also look into many safe and authorized 3rd party viewers. (see: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory ) The software if free and only about 30Megs. No need to go to a torrent to download.
  18. You married yourself? Other than that being a bit odd, to answer your question, when you delete an account it goes into hold for 30 days before its deleted. Then it goes for good but the partnership stays. Why delete an account though? It's not costing you anything to keep it. 99.999% of the times when I see someone want to delete an account its over some drama and almost always later regretted.
  19. Still doesn't mean she can't replace it. The post has been focused on getting him his money back. If its full perm of course not but I've not seen anyone suggest offering a replacement.
  20. You can't. It's part of a package as something they "throw in" and not something you paid for specifically. It's one of the features you get with a premium subscription. If the only reason you have a premium account is to get land, then I would just close your account and go to a free account.
  21. Since the product is full perm, just send him a replacement. Seems to be the easiest path to good customer service. You don't have to do anything but if you want to offer crap for support even when it's their fault, then that is up to you but I personally think it's a no brainier..Just replace his product, it's not costing you anything to do so.
  22. Wow, what you are asking here is just short of writing a thesis to answer. You have some very broad questions that can be pretty much defined as "How Do You Market In Second Life" I would suggest perhaps doing a search on Marketing or specific questions first. You can also look at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-market-your-products/ta-p/700181 to get some high level overviews on marketing in SL. Most of your questions have been asked her in part and many times over. You should go through those and get some basis for marketing in SL first. "How does search function" has dozens if not hundred of threads on that alone. From there, if you any specific questions, you can come back and ask away but at present, this is a very broad post. The answers to all of your questions are both yes and no. It depends on many elements and more over your product set as well as how you gage success.
  23. You will need to call support. They may ask you some security questions or for some ID to be sent to them first and then they can reset your password via your new email address. Be forewarned, this will take some work on your part and rightfully so, we all want tight security around our access info.
