To Q Linden and EVERYONE all Teams and users. Over a year ago I posted on the blog about how it would be a good IDEA to GIVE Premium account holders their own mini WEBSITE account linked to SL free then this would be a great little abvertizing platform and possible money spinner for Sl even a footer attached to page ie "website created free on secondlife" AS I feel that giving users a form of free webspace homepage site will totally transform this platform for the better. Website builder type easy drag & drop ellements ect. But they must not have read it as instead of thinking along these lines they have made PROFILES into that idea instead LOL. You have all the data servers and setup already in your hands and users will get alot of ideas off the ground if they had a free mini website service along with their premium account instead of the free linden homes that you rolled out. I was thinking what would Help to add value to PREMIUM accounts and this was the best solution at the time. If this idea is not what some users would think as a good idea sorry but I just enjoy thinking outside and inside the box on things. I feel it woudl be better than using our PROFILE as virtual Flyers in form of ads.

To Q Linden... Is there anyway that your team can post possible future plans so we users can possibly provide some input into features before they even go into LIVE BETA maybe a few ideas Bullet points to keep us on track and a view to page layouts ect that are just a webpage view but not live then we could bash out a solid or almost solid plan with LL. As for starting to get a foot into facebook you have been working on this for over 2 years but have kept us in the dark a wee bit now i see where all the changes have been leading too , Adult (ZINDRA) viewer 2 Teen merge Banks casinos marketplace too many to list hehe. I have no clue on this facebook thing in techi terms i rarely log on FB as it is but I would have thought that you guys at the Lab would have made a APP on facebook so basicly from the facebook users applications settings they would be able to control many security features and what is linked and showed with the application also you could have had many features in this APP like name to link ect. This APP would act as a PIT STOP between Facebook and SL. I may be barking up the wrong tree but I know you have a FB group but do you have a APP aswell. Ahh then you could stick your FLASH version of sl in their when it happens These web profiles are to open to the elements I aint even bothering about even looking what Twitter is do I need it no I own a telephone and have email to many cooks spoil the broth.

Sounds intresing this group chat is a challenge that all other platforms have found hard is there somthing that is going to be Closed sorce somthing thats kept in house that SL can keep to themselfs I truly think its time to start keeping a hold of some features by not releasing every line of code you make it may be a wise choice in the long run then you have somthing to call your own and can fall back on when everything gets opened up wider in years to come. Can we MUTE a group even Temp mute would be handy when you have many users in a group that you have to be in for updates these groups get very annoying on the chatter side. Instead of having to set busy all the time.

To winter Ventura Yes the gulf divide is getting larger between V2 and 1.23 but this is a very intresting development that has been introduced by making V2 primary It actually depends how users use this platform and shows that their is a much wider intrest other than graphics and avatars wearing attachments should be intresting to see what a mesh looks like on 1.23 hehe I pesonally could live with seeing a mesh as even grey goo prims because 1.23 is quick easy and simply does the job that suits my pesonal use of this platform even black and white graphics i wouldnt mind. After saying that I am really trying to adopt the new veiwer for the sake of progress but cannot re educated the right side of my brain with the side bar ect 1.23 is perfect having spent a few hour on your PC windows 1.23 is just like windows but V2 pop ups are all over the place its hard work but I will keep trying 15mins a day on V2.

Sounds intresting Argus PMs they are needed sometimes like you say also an mad idea that just popped in my head is maybe a few Live Chat Rooms may work general disscusions would benifit from a chat room style format instead of what we have now alot of things get said sometimes in a heated debate that should not really be inprinted on a blog type page and emailed. bowfluv yeah sounds like you have stuck presence issue (ghost of your AV stuck inworld) make an ALT account you should be able to login on it find your main AV and contact LL to reset the sim and let your spirit free. or simply just contact them first and tell them you are stuck inworld (stuck Precence) is the term and need unsticking as you carnt logg in. hope this helps

Hi rod if your reading this have a good dig around using the old 1.23 viewer aswell as viewer 2 as SL was built using 1.23 and the diffrence becomes very noticable by trying to tie into viewer 2 what already exists in viewer 1.23 Landsales at the core of sl are best done on 1.23 try your hand at buying a few parcels from search and just for the hell of it sell a parcel for 5ls and watch as the landbots swing into action in milliseconds hope you will see that whats been happening with auto buying landbots has led to a wealth of problems plenty of info about this problem but maybe new eyes can see it diffrent hope you do. Good luck whatever you decide in direction of the platform users here can hold this ship together we just need 1 or 2 polices relooking at to claim back user trust and investment from users nothing to crazy like whats happened these past few years.

Good luck jack and all the best but I wish you could have steped up to the plate and totally stopped LANDBOTS from suppresing the market I watched as these rouge programs bottled necked the mainland market due to pure greed from the landbots makeup. 24/7 millisecond cutting all other out of the market at bottom end led to landdealears eventually having to take active steps sticking all crap at the bottom market and eventually totally reduced the profit margin a landbot would make 0.5 as it stands now shows me that the market is still being heldup by so called land barrons not barrons but actual investors of teir. So in other words someone sort the bots out that are still active and the market will rise investment will come by new dealers having a fair market and others will raise eventually like I say 0.5 from 8-17 shows market is holding by its nails dealers are just keeping exess land a float in form of holding for sale if it went to 0 then its dead in the water. Just after the VAT problem all the extra sims came flooding out but i would bet my bottom dollar that was to help you pay for the unpaid VAT that was due dam VAT men lol. Back to basics for mainland no bots auto buying lowest parcels search that works the same on both viewers will sort things out takes the market a long time to rise but it can drop like a stone in hours markets in nature should have peaks and falls during a day but landbots stop users from investing in the falls. Who can see this will be the best for the job.

Have tryed and tryed this V2 but it just makes me want to log off and get back to real life its a real shame that search is totally screwed first thing i do when i log in is spend hours on search 1.23 is PERFECT.... V2 is actually like working on a dos program years ago when amstrads ataris amiga500 ect first came out. Now if we could switch search in prefrences to 1.23 mode well bobs your uncle or even switch viewers in prefrences only thing 1.23 is missing is web on a prim and a few bells. 1.23 is the daddy of SL V2 Actually needs its own seprate grid to evolve on.

Having never used this instant cashout feature I carnt really comment on the time it did take but using lindenx as Ive always done Xmas is always a busy time for cashing out so why in gods name do you decide to close this instant way for the big investors that seem to cash out large amounts due to large bills monthly. Dont forget xmasbank holidays and weekends do slow transfer times. So its actually working days also depends on your banks transfer time which are a good few days while they float the cash in holding accounts on the stock market n balance their books. Question is if large amounts now pile up on lindenx will we see yet another drop on value of the linden as the more cashing out on lindenx leads to a drop in rates ?

Wayfinder thx yes I totally agree from where your coming from like you say a website wont really help much in todays scheme of things unless your buisness was geared towards web services SL is far to chopped and diced nowadays compared to a few years back. When users actually just walked around the place looking for inworld shops exploring passing trade is totally lost now along with the fun of not having much info to read and just learning things on your own thats what drew me into sl in the first place discovering new tricks and actually working out how people actually made cash from their shops sat on many a campbag watching lol then first land program drew me in further discounted land first 512 for 500LS (that I actually paid for via the money earned from camping) then plenty sat on my own shop ventures campbags and i could easy pay teir from inworld funds rest is history got enrolled very quick. Like Rene says new users are given/expect everything on a plate offworld. Anyways good luck we all know the score all the best for 2011 in RL

Hi wayfinder just a small idea that may push sales have you actually designed your own website to direct the possible traffic clicks to if you create a diffrent shopping concept to users they may want to have a look at whats on the website eg all your items, reviews, small blogs just for capture, Your best recommended locations and tips ect. As this seems the only proper use of adds is link to personal websites then your website can cover many many product intrests depending on the name of site you choose and therefore you can club together with others and promote your website you never know you could even start having your own adds service hehe. But its all about costs adds will never pay to promote a few items you need a full shopping website or website service to promote. Thats the problem with these adds are they really designed for sl users to sell items? inworld search was designed for that.

Hope this helps you keep your buisness (Idea) alive but on balance there is limited mileage in marketplace n ads and this must now be as far as they can push the marketplace any further may result in an overkill. Just like they did with mainland pumping to much out then being stuck with it with no way of cutting back only stacking on servers. Focus now needs moving away from established buisness (ideas) and helping the little Guy/Girl who has a very good imagination but carnt get their ideas off the ground due to not being able to compete in search and half the grid using v2 seach while the wise use older viewers where search works the gulf is getting wider. New users struggling on V2 and oldies swaping from V2 to original viewer to keep their inworld (idea) alive. Inworld Inworld inworld that was the core design of SL and prim teir use we need users searching INWORLD not an ebay wannabe you now buy somthing offworld and then rez inworld and sit their twiggling your thumbs you automaticly end up back searching webpages just to pass the time without thinking lol. A new breed of SL users who very rarely login because more going on offworld than in.

Well thats the thing that needs making clear what exactly is a impression are they timed impressions or per page loaded ie viewed. If Tom had 500 ad impressions and 20 others had the same 500 worth on the same page would these cycle intermitent to spread across 21 diffrent add pics in a day? basicly are they flashing between adds on the same loaded page or can a user seem to hog the page for a full day maybe by pushing all 500 in one day.. No info on the beta site just torley talking about simple setup. Small starting out Tom may find his 500 gets totally swamped as the minuites tick by. need more info this site is lacking info at the moment.

Offer this Free then this would be a good thing do you guys think the users have an endless supply of cash to sink into this platform? wish we did have the magic money tree to keep testing and building your ideas for you but we dont Fix search and let the good days return its just one thing after another now adays why carnt search be returned to its original state that worked and you got the paid adds their aswell and everyone was happy and alot did have spare cash to play around with but the linden hands started pulling users spare LS out of the world with these kind of ideas not much left in the pockets now. Just leave SL alone for a while stop all this dam re-inventing the wheel users will genarate cash for you in their own way just let the platform run without keep moving the goal posts every week amen. good luck anyways but too much lately going on.

Help sections and forum links need to be scaled back away from main SL website page maybe to the bottom of the page its getting to a state where its bordering on information overload Ive tryed to get people to check out SL but the feedback I usually get is the website makes this platform look far to deep and complicated but I have to keep pointing out its simple just download the viewer and off you go. Forget all the links to this and links to that just learn by using the viewer and stay out of the forums link or you head will explode with garbage of other users thoughts of the day, some usfull info there but useless chatter muddys the waters. Like if anyone needed help inworld and i was pulling my hair out trying to explain how its done I would finish the by saying HIT F1 thats help.

Support has always delivered a result on a amazing array of problems over the years for me even from the time you had a direct chat tab to a linden in the viewer in 2006. Concierge / premium Live chat has been totally brilliant if we residents actually take the time to actually keep our chat dialog clear and precise then this helps the linden on the other end fix or pop inworld next to you within seconds. Seems a good aproach to try and curb the flood of minor routes that a basic can use there are way too many to list and you will still be there for your basic customers just not in as many diffrent selections which sounds a good move across the board.

I Would think that this is the only way LL can think of at the moment to continue to keep the total landmass paying for itself when the going was good LL could offer nice discounts but I personally would have looked at keeping none profit untouched by looking more towards getting abandoned land on mainland reused and even offered it free by auto setting it for sale for 0ls so someone could simply buy it and try to limit abandoned land causing fragmentation in a sims potential revenue too many abandoned lands earning LL zero return even up to half a sim or more sits wasted in a full sim for years wheres the logic in that?

Nuhai you are 100% correct in your logic and many of us that cashed out causing lindenx to drop are actually sitting back from sticking our invesment cash back the days of leaving a few million linden dolars sitting idle in ones account are over the tap is dripping most didnt want to risk years of hard earning to risk it going down the swanney. Its true it is much harder to get a good return on your investments nowadays but I simply put this down to the move by linden labs to push SL more to a WEB design format and you know there isnt much need for cash to be floating around inworld when that is fully implemented hence teir problems no cash flow to pay your land shop fees rentals ect end result shop on a boring web page no need for a land prims just 1 magic box and land somwhere with 1 prim free. Even conversations are now entering the web forums and even this blog what exactly is left to do Inworld they seem to be dragging everything out of the virtual world and slapping it on a webpage. Maybe we can buy webpages off them instead of land that may work in the short term. Hope things turn around some way now phills back in the driving seat Sl needs to grow at the pace the users create not pushed in the hope of billions of new signups all the old timers in sl can easy contribute to the economy much more than any new signup. New users are still entering gees there was only 13k users max online at a weekend when I signed up years ago and look at all the hicups it cause when we hit 20k 30k then 40k ect ect could the grid hold fast if suddenly they hit the sweet spot and people flocked to sign up in the masses over a very short period. Just hope they focus more on inworld buisness hell id even pay a tax on the linden dollar inworld rather than pay commision on Xstreet or even a prim tax on every prim I rezzed or a inventory fee for the data storage depending on size if it helped the world to continue being a place of fun work and amazing enviroment to better ones self than to browse endless webpages.

Welcome to SL Kim You will really enjoy getting to know the main inner workings that users spend their days doing; buying/selling to each other, building, talking/singing just loads of things to do depending on your prefrence and the great thing Is Its really easy to create your own perfect entertainment that you enjoy doing and earn a few linden dollars in the process. How many people can just open up a shop or set up a buisness in RL within 1 min thats the cool thing of SL virtual buisness is open to all and also its fun trying to setup something and to keep it running hopefully in profit whether Its a long term plan or just a quick turnaround.

or ofcouse banker alt or a bit of tape over the screen best one is that bug that sl had where cash vanished to minus lol thats the best dunno if that bug is still around but takes a log out or transaction to bring it back that was fun not had that issue for a while

You can always use Linden X as a piggy bank set a sell order at something stupid like 1Ls for exchange rate and it will sit there out of the way when you want it just cancel the order and it will go back to viewer n account If it did sell you would be quids in anyway if you set at a low rate I always stick some in Linden X just for the sake of it :}
