  1. Read all about it! The Bay City Post, Edition 77, is out! Read it here ! We visit so many places and report so many things it's near impossible to list it all. We have visited SL16B, we have visited the heart of Bay City. Do we have an Emperor named Michael? What did the police and fire dept. do? We get touchy.... Demolition avoided! Black hole discovered! We found Tilia. Is Linden Lab stable, reliable and predictable? Read all about it!!
  2. So we have till June 24th to lock in the correct premium fee. However {coming is)" the introduction of an all-new membership level for those who want to get the absolute most out of their Second Life". This gives the risk of locking in the premium fee and next comes another option and we have to pay again?

  4. I just calculated that if I were to employ 4 alts I'd save 30us$ a year in the current scheme. With the new scheme I'd loose a whopping 76 us$ with 4 alts. That could be a reasonable justification for the massive unreasonable price increase. I should have made that calculation sooner. Now my alts will remain poor. I'm not gonna premium up 4 alts for the duration of a year.
  5. Once a blog pot has been done you are not looking for comments for change. The policy has been set and carved into stone. The blog post presented the change as something good, it is not. There were better moments to announce this and better ways to present it, instead you have chosen to post the 37.5% price-increase just before SL16B. I have seen Lindens make similar blog posts. Jack and Blue, as their farewell. I have a double strange feeling.
  6. I am preparing a blog post. This is what I have written so far. Our landlord has giveth +512sqm and Bellisseria. Our landlord will taketh a price increase of 26% ... 37.5% for Premium membership. Also, if you are fortunate enough to make money in SL, the cost of converting L$ to US$ will increase 100% (from 2,5% to 5%, no caps). Basic membership will have less groups and less off-line IM's. A full sim will see a price reduction of 8%. Ideas on how to improve the text?
  7. There appears to be something brewing at the Bay City Post. What could this mean? http://baycitypostsl.blogspot.com/
  8. There is always a good moment to unsubscribe from a thread.
  9. Dear Ebbe. First off, thank you for your efforts to update Second Life and the Linden Lab services. Also I am very pleased with the wind of openness that comes from the Lab. In this time of privacy abuse it needs to be asked. What is Linden Lab it's position towards privacy and, more specific, the European laws that reign privacy? Linden Lab uses various web based providers, the forums, wiki, jira, Amazon to name a few. Do the providers follow the same rules and standards? Why are visitors to those websites being tracked by Google and other snoopers? Does Google know my Username + RL name + my SL marketplace purchases? Why? And what can it do with that? I am using Second Life as being a paid provider so I can expect an experience without (much) advertising and tracking. Are our in-world interactions stored? If so, what duration? Who has access to my data? Does that include government agencies? What is the USB key policy on leaching data? Thank you for replying, -Vick
  10. oh, if it was 512.... I know someone that wants a plot in BC.... *doggy eyes*
  11. ETA. If I manually enter 4608 in the calculation box it shows I can buy 512. No idea what would happen in-world.
  12. The Land Use page shows the 1024 bonus. But it doesn't show (yet) I can buy another 512. I still have 0 Available Square Meters. Except that, this is great news! 1024 bonus *and* a price reduction!!!! Yay!!
  13. I can build. Sim holds now well above 18800 prims. The broken Mesh object now has normal physics. Now I still have to wait an hour since it went wrong yesterday one hour after a sim restart.
  14. Sim has been restarted, same version number. It was a rollback, items are back.
  15. Since I assume that nobody in my region has been able to add prims, since things broke, I requested a region rollback, and a working server. Not sure if LL will honour my request, it *is* mainland.
  16. For the record. Mainland Villareal is also affected. Villareal is running RC Magnum Version: 17.09.01.328871 . Can't rez, all parcels in the region have plenty of prim room. Many many items have been returned. Region stats hover at just above 18000 prims. I suspect the server hasn't been told about the new prim limits. LI count of Mesh objects appear to be normal. Edit: The error I get when I try to rez a prim is: "Unable to create object. The region is full"
  17. If you look at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-134078 you will see it has been accepted, that Linden Lab has transported the bug to WENG-3984' and that it is NOT closed. We, feed addicts, have observed a purge of backlog and a slow restart of a somewhat functioning feed, but it is slow and still unreliable. It is my guess that this time Linden Lab won't be happy with a temporary fix, as so many times before, but a true working and reliable feed. Imagine that my.secondlife.com could also be implemented as my.sansar.com..... Watch the Jira and wait for it to be closed. Good feeding times ahead. (some fingercrossing is advised)
  18. As the root of the dome will be in the 512 centre it will technically not be visible by the neighbours, except the shadow (which is weird anyways but that's a different subject) and it will be visible. The neighbour has the full right and possibility to return the dome. Would you return such a dome? I would not. Would your neighbour return it? No idea. Returning stuffs that doesn't eat up your prim count is not nice imho. I'd rather have a skydome then a skydome radar autorezzer next to my parcel.
  19. As everybody knows (should know), Feed users are the utmost most patient people in the world, and surrounding areas.
  20. Since it's taking so long I expect that this time they will really fix it instead of patching it up over and over again. That's my hope. I am a feed user since about day one, or two. It's 99% about SL, not about politics or odd RL ramblings. You can select who you want to follow and ignore the odd balls. Sharing of pictures is fun, seeing pictures other have made is sometimes amazing. The adventures of Lo and Niko, I miss them dearly. My friendlist has grown thanks to the feed. It's more fluid as the forums, more selective as Twitter and Flickr. It's unique and I am addicted, as I can see the feed off-line and chat with people in the wrong timezones. Today I received 99+ notifications. I still can't post yet on my feed, but I still can reply on existing posts. Because of the sudden 99+ notification I know something is being done. I have hopes and expect to see you all there again soon
  21. I am desperate. Missing the feed, sharing my amazing pictures, witty and wise comments, and some nonsense too. Tommy can you hear me? Please ^100 fix the feed. Oh a few feed addicts have found one small corner to share stuffs, you can tag along if you wanna, and if Crys allows. https://my.secondlife.com/criiiistal/snapshots/5979eebed9859c212f000001 I assume LL is trying to fix the feed in a more permanent way compared with the forever-patching that was the practice so far. Oh, and Tommy, let Gridstatus show the status please! It's annoying to see that my.secondlife.com is functional while it isn't. It even has reported three times or more that is was fixed. Bad Gridstatus! *kicks Gridstatus* If you fix the feed I promise to be nice and sweet and so. Perhaps even more.
  22. How do I remove a post? I was 100% wrong. SORRY!!!! I'll sit in a corner and be ashamed!
