  1. Linden Lab has hosted some event shopping on the mainland in the past. I assume it will do that again some day.
  2. I recall this place as being build on, on several levels in a roman temple style. I remember it most because of a sewage pipe hanging from it. Weird find while exploring, that makes exploring fun. Discovering things like this. For that I'm sad it's dumped. I hope the new owner will be nice to it. Also, roads are not save and are not protected. I have seen roads change ownership and vanish.
  3. Land prices as a metric has become totally unreliable ever since the standard price has dropped below 1L$/m2. Land barons can only survive with bulk and cheats. A resident has a life cycle. Noob (free) => clothes. Fresh (land ownership) => house and decorations. Old (explorer)=> vehicles. The gatcha pokes (poked) in between these classifications. Doesn't mean much. Unless the economy has sunken so low that it makes a dent in the economy. I hope we haven't got to that stage. We (still) need new residents that stay.
  4. Land is a poor metric to gage the economy. The amount of owned land is a better metric. There is land owned by people that have abandoned Second Life. So I can't trust land as an indication for the economy. We can't see how sales are doing but how many cars can you own and enjoy? There is an end to luxury. Clothes sales is a good indication for the economy. It shows new users and shows an increase in trust in the platform, and higher age of the user. Otoh, how many mesh bodies does one need? The gotcha ban has no significant value. It's sales but in a slightly different form. Good metrics are new sign-ups and daily concurrency. Second Life has done better and is slowly going down. I hope it finds a new hype. 2007 again!
  5. Q: Will popular games like 7seas be impacted by this policy change? A: No, because the purchase of bait to go “fishing” is a purchase being made of a known item, and also the fish you catch while playing the game are non-transferable. To be clear, if they are not currently, they must be going forward. This is incorrect. The bait is a token of a certain value. The transferability of the received price has no impact. Unless you would like to rewrite the policy. For instance. Gatchas are not allowed unless you purchase a token and the price you receive is transferable. Please correct and provide further guidance. Thank you
  6. Welcome Feorie. I found your video! https://youtu.be/8Tk9p5UY3Og Great to see you in our city!!
  7. Dear Oz I regret to inform you that you are not allowed to leave. You are to stay the nerd you are within Second Life for ever. You broke things (often), you fixed them, you made things better (sometimes). So, stay. What do we have to do to make you stay? Break things? Let us know and we'll do that. And if there is no other choice, Patch has a few sims (regions) that need new names. Make a list and Patch will (be forced) to use them. We won't hurt Patch. *sigh* Does sobbing help make you stay? Don't be a stranger! See you soon Oz!

  19. Well. Since Tilia is not a registered bank that has to comply to EU privacy laws the fear is a valid question. With a copy of an ID you could, open a bank account and withdraw credit, You could register a car and use it for bank-robbery, You could address Facebook and claim ownership of my account. My fear is clearly written out in the documents I have shown. Identity theft
  20. I have no idea what the us law states. I expect it's something similar as the Dutch law. The point is that the Dutch regulations limit the "scan-document" thing and it gives advice on what is possible. As long as Tilia is not registered as a bank it's not a bank and they should limit their request, and still try to stay within us law. How? I have no idea. That's up to them. If I knew I'd be wealthy.
  21. I'm Dutch Yay! For the Dutchies! All I want is that LL rethinks their "scan passport" thing because I think they missed that (and removed posts, in the FAQ thread, that referred that). That's all. I'm a happy camper
  22. Any business that is storing my private information is subject to GDPR. When I am using their services or not. That is law.
