  1. Woots!! Eyes are the least common fail out of the 4, but I have seen it be them a couple of times before, nowhere near as often as the hairbase, but good to hear it was still basically the same bug & that your not broken to the point you need support to fix you....Cos we both know how brilliant they are lol .
  2. If you get a sudden crash, you do not get logged out properly & the viewer has to still go through the logout process before you can get back in, so you will get a timeout message. Just try again after a few minutes & it should be ok.
  3. There are some good camera tips on http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=camera
  4. Is there a particular topic that you want to blog about?...For example Fashion...If so you could probably find one of the fashion sites to blog on if you are good at it. or there are also several inworld magazines that have bloggers in them.
  5. Switch off your Router, leave it off for a few minutes & then reboot your computer.
  6. Your trading limit starts from when you make your first buy & will go up automatically with time & activity. After the first month you should be on Level 1, during the first month it will go up weekly.
  7. The Payment info on file & the Mesh IP tutorial both need to show as green boxes, if one is pink, then that is the problem. Also check on the Mesh forum for more info http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Mesh/bd-p/Mesh
  8. To see what your Haven Points are, go to any Amaretto store and find the Haven Points vendor (looks like a board with 12 or so squares). Click on the bottom right square and local chat will tell you how many points you have. There is also a "Horse Cents" thing and vendors in the Amaretto Haven Sim. You can also trade in your Horse Cents for the "Consumables" there. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Amaretto%20Ranch%20Haven/128/128/2
  9. Follow the directions below & if you still haven`t found the item submit a ticket. There is no point submitting a ticket before doing the following as they will just tell you to do it: Please make sure that you meet the following three requirements. 1. You are using the most recent official Second Life viewer 2. You've recently cleared cache 3. You are running on hardwired connection (No wireless) Once you have met those three requirements please go to a low traffic area such as a sandbox and allow your inventory to fully load. (This should take about 10 minutes) Then search for the item. Also reference the two links below and take all steps. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_Recovery
  10. Try clearing your cache manually, go to: (XP) - C: - Documents and Settings - (USER NAME) - AppData - SecondLife (Vista) - C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Local - SecondLife (Win 7) - C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Roaming - SecondLife and Local - SecondLife Rename the folder Secondlife2 and then restart your computer. NOTE: You may need to go to Windows Tools > Folder Options > View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders, in order to see AppData folder. After your reboot, change your start location on login to Smith and when you get in just stay there under the water until your inventory has fully reloaded. You can open your inventory and type in the inventory search bar to prompt loading, but do not do anything else until it is done.
  11. Did you try using a proper viewer Grasshopper? What happens if you RenderUnoadedAvatar? Does it let you see anything wrong with the avatar to give you a clue? Also check "worn" or current outfit to see if any of the basic 4 components are not being worn.
  12. You can't blog directly on the SL website, but you can set up your own blog on any other blog site & advertise it in SL, on your profile, groups or with a ink in your signature on the forums. EDIT: You could use the feed on your webprofile as a sort of blog too if you wanted to, at least I haven`t seen anywhere saying that its not allowed.
  13. What I find curious about that main JIRA is that despite the fact that it has over 1300 votes, not a single Linden has ever even commented on it. Its almost like they are under some sort of gag order as far as the naming system is concerned, because its unlikely that all of them just happen to have no opinion on the subject.
  14. Chelsea Malibu wrote: I've always felt that a Merchant Account would also be something of value. Charge me a premium or perhaps a bit more, give me some store space, discounts on classifieds and MP enhancements, etc. as well as expedited funds transfers. I don`t really understand your suggestion, the only people that need store space, classified ads or MP listing enhancements are merchants, so its not like merchants can have a discount but everyone else pays the full amount, as there is no "everyone else". What would be the point of charging more for a merchant account just to reduce the cost of those things? We would probably end up worse off, especially all those merchants that don`t use classifieds or enhancements.
  15. As Void said, that welcome area, which is mostly referred to as Ahern Welcome Area, is at the corner of 4 sims & if you walked around that central planter you would actually cross 4 sim walls. If you switch on "show property lines" in your world menu, you will see the red lines that are the crossings from one sim to another & it can stop you from stepping over them accidentally. You can also hover your cursor over the 4 sims on the world map and see how many people are standing on each one & if you are lagging badly, hop over onto the one with least people on it. As each sim can hold 40 people, potentially you could have 160 people at that welcome area, though there is rarely even close to that, it does get very busy sometimes & avoiding the busiest sim can save you from getting kicked offline when that sim crashes...which they quite often do LOL So don`t be surprised if you are standing there sometime and one or more quarters just vanish & becomes ocean hehe
  16. The first statement relates to your own info...If you publically give info about yourself in local chat or on the forums etc you cannot expect any privacy rights. The second statement relates to other people`s info...If you ahve been told something in private, you cannot share it. However, if someone has already given their info publically (not in an IM), you are not doing anything wrong sharing it.
  17. hehe I guess "not confusing" was a bad choice of words lol What I meant was that if you analyse it then it is possible to see what that page of info is telling you, but I also think that for the purpose of using the forums, all the detail included there is excessive & unnecessary & all that clutter does make it confusing. I prefer the topics pages to the posts pages, for that very reason, too many duplicate entries for the same topic/thread. I would love to see a page that worked like this one http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Forums-Feedback/bd-p/forums_feedback that covered the forums in each section on one page. If it wasn`t for all the advertising in the land forum I would like to see one that covered ALL forums on one page.
  18. You apply to be listed in the Necomer Friendly section of the Destination Guide. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Destination_Guide_FAQ For inclusion in the Newcomer Friendly category only, these additional criteria apply: There are helpful signs or tutorials that are up-to-date and reference features in Basic mode. There are clear pointers to get further help with Second Life. For example, a scripted sign that links to Second Life Answers community help. The venue has an active and welcoming community within close proximity of the landing point.
  19. Chat lag got broken on June 11th to the shock of many residents, but unfortuantely it was shortlived, as LL managed to fix it again by the end of July & it is now back to full strength lol https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7031
  20. You submit a ticket by going to: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ If you submit a ticket for that particular issue the first thing they will do is to tell you to do the following: Please make sure that you meet the following three requirements. Also reference the two links below and take all steps. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_Recovery So you may as well try all that first.
