50 m sea level would be cool too. People would start wanting Log Homes.

Linden Lab probably missed a trick this year.  They could have said they were going to introduce new character floating homes, choice of rubber duckies or flamingo birdies. Not moored, but floating aimlessly around the waterlands of Second Life, but the owners would have a HUD with which to locate their home.

  2. Three years ago in one of the Linden Homes regions - which used to be left empty for testing I guess/think (Millbank) - they built some Eastern Bloc style flats. I revisited just now to find this... Halloween hunt!

I've noticed that the number one frustration noobs have is the inability to customize their av. I try to explain it and even do screen shares and half of them do not get it at all. Guys will take meme avs, but women absolutely want a normal person av, and it's frustrating to not have an attractive stylish av. I know mesh bodies are weird, but it's interesting how the basic systems are also confusing. What's your experience with this?

I know for sure that if I was to have become a resident of Second Life over recent years instead of in 2007 the faffy nature of modern mesh avatars would have totally put me off. As it is I feel so much less inclined to bother logging in because of it. Do people really enjoy all the extra work it takes to always be tweaking and modifying and changing mesh avatars, because I just feel it's too much of a time drain.

So here I am, in a system avatar, which I don't find confusing at all. Same old shape. Old skin now. Just occasionally change the clothing.

Intense, and erotic. I love it!!!

Quite a few of their videos are intense and erotic, deep and meaningful, and one or two are just ... funny, bawdy, entertaining. Try this one next.

And this one is the classic tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with a twist 😜

Because they are mens work socks..If you think about what  all those different jobs are, they need all that.. My husband goes through some work socks.

If He had just regular old  socks, they wouldn't last a week.. hehehe

I don't buy into that theory really, as if women are delicate little flowers that tiptoe around thickly carpeted workplaces or sit with their feet up more than men. I've just come back in from a tough gardening session, and I walk the equivalent of a marathon every couple of weeks, so I reckon I'm just as worthy of thicker padded comfier socks as any man.

Besides - other half of the peeve (or perhaps peeve number 2 on the same subject):

Why are men's socks cheaper than women's? (Don't tell me, because women are the breadwinners and pay for all the women's socks?)

    Tee hee.

Large washer laundry bags.  The kind a commercial.laundry uses.  Haven't lost a sock since I started using them.  Ask at your local dry cleaner/shirt laundry if they'll sell you one.

Oh I had forgotten about these, lovely zip top mesh bags are ace for keeping smaller delicate items from going missing in the washing machine. EBay here I come!

Peeve: Losing my socks like  R.E.M losing their religion. I've lost so many of them in the laundry I should start considering making mismatched socks a fashion thing.

This teed me off so much in the past that I started buying only bulk packs of men's work socks all in the same colour. No one ever sees my socks, and just why are socks made better for men than for women anyway? The heels and toes are reinforced and oh so very much more comfortable to wear.

I bought some sock clips. They go through the laundry and stay stuck together in a pair until I wear them!

Knowing my luck, the sock clips would come off and get stuck in the washing machine's filter and the last time I went in there to clean it out I managed to flood the kitchen.

Peeve 2: 21st century washing machines being as appalling as 20th century ones, but probably for very different reasons.
