FREE LAND ? No set up fees ! Woohoo !
Lynda Klossovsky replied to ralph Alderton's topic in General Discussion Forum
Hey Ralph... if you are so concerned about the fact the LL might be losing sales, why dont you go and buy some islands yourself, and be an inspiration to us, rather than just typing away in a chat line? -
FREE LAND ? No set up fees ! Woohoo !
Lynda Klossovsky replied to ralph Alderton's topic in General Discussion Forum
I just had to add a comment here, that if you are just thinking about getting some virtual land to do something with, i might be an idea to look at mainland areas, and look for a quarter or a half a region or so..there is still a monthly tier to pay, but no set up fees...(ever).. If i may be so bold here, could i suggest, like others have, that you could reduce montly tier, but not forever, say half price for 6 months or something like that.. I stopped being impressed about it all personally, and stopped "playing the game", when the mainland land market decimated in 2008..but thats just my opinion, and possibly not others. but i havent left though, still interested in seeing what happens generally.. Edit..i fixed a typo. -
That would not suprise me somehow...

Why would some designers just leave without a word?
Lynda Klossovsky replied to Jochen Alex's topic in Fashion
other people than designers leave SL without a word too.. It is really up to them if they wish to share the reason... Oh by the way, i was like this video before i joinned SL... -
Mesh doesnt load properly for me on LL viewer 2.83, its looks like they are wearing a box.. In fact i thought the first viewer that supported that was LL viewer 3.00..

Lynda Klossovsky replied to Jesica Dragovar's topic in General Discussion Forum
Nobody has mentioned the lag, viewer 2, torley linden, and the horrible frame rate yet !!! EDIT..On second thoughts, maybe we should keep torley .... -
Apparently, a number of people are experiencing issues with ubuntu 11.04 (both 32 and 64 bit). It either doesnt load, or if it does load, there are issues when running SL.. Up to, and including version 10.10 , both 32 bit and 64 bit ubuntu seems to run perfectly on SL, as long as you have a suitable video card with updated drivers.

Hmm, also i noticed sorrys to say, that a celeron d (which is the cpu you list) is a good cheap general purpose cpu, mainly for office number crunching....even though it does connect to SL, the actual performance of the cpu isnt very fast, therefore the sluggish grey views.. (i say this because i have a dual core pentium, so i know lol ) Sorry to be the bearer of more bad news..

Lindens: Windows 8 Compatibility?
Lynda Klossovsky replied to Cerebrix Absolute's topic in General Discussion Forum
This was in reply to dante tuck btw, not cerebrix absolute:matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:no...first off, in case no-one guessed..that picture is photshopped...(its actually a pic i found in a windows 8 report and i photoshopped it).. I tried to install windows 8 physical..that is on a spare drive on a pc.(extracted from the iso file). just didnt finish installing the operating system, then got a blue screen to quick to see what it was b4 it tried to restart, but it crashed three quarters of the way thru "installing services" (the registry installed ok) and never finished loading, so i never saw it on my computer, although i have seen reports.. -
