  1. I was experimenting with setting a prim to physical and seeing what happens under different conditions. One being, setting a cube on a flat surface, then slowly tilting the surface to determine at what point the cube starts to slide. I wnated to see if material mattered. It does, btw, wood cube on wood surface slides at 33 degrees tilt, glass on glass slides at 13 degrees. Anyway, my question .... I noticed a space between the bottom of the cube and the top of the plank, sort of like a cushion of air. I would like to know what that is, or its purpose, and how thick is that space/cushion/buffer is.
  2. So, the usual relog/clear cache/TP to different regions/detach all/etc isn't working. Perhaps your shape's data got damaged? Have you tried on a different shape?
  3. Look in your viewer's preferences and try reducing the mouse sensitivity

Just to add, don't forget to check under the ground.
  5. I don't know about that particular card, but I do know the problem you will face later on with a laptop in general. The cost of upgrading it. I faced that issue myself recently. I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop that is now 5 years old (I now use it for Net surfing while inworld). The card in it is an ATI 1100. I was lucky to get 7 FPS at Low settings. To replace that laptop would have cost me at approzimately CDN$800. And the graphics would still be low quality. Instead, I spent CDN$600 on a desktop tower that came with an nVidia 6150 card and a 19" LCD monitor. Got Med quality graphics at 14-16 FPS. Recently upgraded to an nVidia 9500 for CDN$100 and am now happily running at High graphics and consistently getting 20-25 FPS. And still saved a hundred dollars! *smiles*
  6. I've set my AVG to also block spyware. I never install extra toolbars, mouse pointers, themes and such. I use a very nice all in one maintenance utility from GlarySoft. I keep my hardrive partitioned will all my data (game saves, pictures, documents, chat logs, cache) on the second partition, keep Windows updated, I've doubled the virtual memory, disabled remote assistance, check every month for driver updates. Can't think of what else
  7. While I'm not sure, I think you can get the DPW to do some stuff for you. Maybe not a river, but perhaps a pond or something? Check the Knowledgebase for the Department of Public Works
  8. The UUID is also used in many transactions, such as tipjar payments. Used to be, you would have to get an AV to touch a certain object, which would say the AV's UUID. This UUID would then be entered into what ever objects/sytems used by whatever busuiness, whether to make tipjar payments, or to page an employee or whatever. Having it displayed in the viewer is a huge convenience to anyone who has dealt with such things before.
  9. The gods love morons ... they keep making so dang many of them!
  10. Hi Silar I also use eemrald and have the voice disabled. I've enver had the same problem as you do, with it somehow becoming enabled again. I am assuming that you have disabled voice under Preferences as I have. I have also turned off the voice volume under the master volume control at the bottom right of the viewer. Hope that helps. ~~ Area 61
  11. Hi Ayemeko I started with the Basic Membership myself and decided to go Premium simply so I could own land and start my own club. That's the biggest difference, being able to own land. You do get L$300 per week (not month) and you can access the live support chat, as well as no tier fee on the first 512sq.m you own. I've not checked all that much out about any other differences, but I'm sure there will be others who will reply with more information. "Heinlein Station .... in space, it doesn't have to be pretty"
