  1. That happend to me last year when I was only a few weeks old. The Lindens were great and reversed the charge, but I did have to wait several weeks for an answer. Submit a ticket and be patient.
  2. ZOMG! Just watched your movie and I have to say I laughed the whole way through! Even the credits had me chuckling! Really well done!! Kudos to you and Evie! (GREAT name for her character by the way!)) I'm sending the link to all my friends
  3. Yes, renting empty land might be your best bet. I own a few small parcels but continue to rent a 4000+ sqm island and that gives me the flexibility to put up whatever skybox/house I want. Do a quick search on marketplace and you'll find many, many houses and skyboxes for sale. Just make sure if you rent empty land that whatever structure you want to put up fits within the prim and square meter limit of the land. BTW, if you are interested in renting empy land, my landlord is the nicest guy in SL! IM me in world and I'll give you his contact information.
  4. Hi there! In addition to Storm's excellent answer there is a way you can put in a second floor. You can rezz a prim, stretch it out, add a texture(brick, wood, tile ) to it thereby creating a 'floor'. You can then place it halfway between the floor and the ceiling to create a second floor. For awhile I was living in a steampunk dockhouse which was very tall and added a second floor in this way. There are many building tutorials if you search the SL videos or even on youtube. Then again, just choosing a different Linden home syle, one with 2 floors already, might be easier Have fun!
  5. Perhaps try a third party viewer, such as Phoenix.
  6. Thanks again! I went to the store and found the EXACT curtains I want that billow and blow in the breeze beautifully! Woot woot!
  7. Oh great thanks for the tips ! I'll check out those curtains and also see if I can make my own as you suggest. I'm still new to building but am learning a lot on my own. Thank you!
  8. Greetings everyone! Does anyone know where I can buy a nice set of scripted curtains that billow and move as if being blown by a breeze? All the scripted curtains I have found are just scripted to open/ close on touch. Thanks!
  9. Yes and if you 'buy' from an estate owner you are hoping that they will continue to pay their tier to LL. Some residents have found out one day when they can't get to their parcel that it has disappeared since the owner of the land did not pay tier. In some cases it is hard for the person to get back their possessions that were on the land. If you buy land on the mainland there is no other go-between person. You pay tier directly to LL so there are no surprises. As long as you pay tier that land is yours, forever *winks* at LL/SL being around 'forever' but one can hope! edit to add: Also if you pay tier to an estate owner ( a week or sometimes a month ahead) and they don't pay tier and the land is lost in most cases you won't get your money back. IF you can find your previous landlord and ask them to refund your money you might get it but there is no guarantee and LL won't get involved in this kind of dispute.
  10. How many prims one needs is very personal. I have continued increasing my lust for prims since I first had my own place which was a rental that allowed 100 prims. After that I moved to a rental which had about 500 prims and put up an entire steampunk theme. When I hit the 500 prim mark and still had more steampunk things I wanted to put in, I moved to my current rental which has 1080 prims. I have a midieval scene on the ground and some houses in the sky and right now have used all but about 80 prims. I also own 2 1024 sqm plots which I've decorated. So I'm pretty addicted to decorating and tend to collect interesting buildings and skyboxes. Have fun!! Edit to add: Reply meant for abeautifulday365
  11. Hi everyone, I have a couple of questions. I've seen some strange sized parcels for sale that are not in multiples of 512. I found a cute little plot but it's 576 sqm. Can I buy the plot and then carve off the extra sqm and abandon that land and turn the plot into a 512? Along the same lines--I own a small 1024 parcel, group owned. The extra 10% bonus is so small that it seems useless. I have 93 sqm additional. It seems unlikely I would find a plot to buy that size and even if I did the amount of prims coming with it would be negligible. Is the group bonus only beneficial when owning large amounts of land? Taking that thought further if I was in the 25$ tier level and owned 4096 sqm via my group I would have an additional 409 sqm to purchase (the 10% bonus ). That's not even a 512 sqm plot so why is this helpful? Or am I misunderstanding group land? Thanks! Ruby :)
  12. Ok Hippie, I would love one! Much thanks!!!!!!!!! :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:
  13. Thanks Wade1 for your information! Turns out the bots would be less of an issue than the neighbors..On 2 seperate occasions last night when I was looking at the plot I was harrassed. The first time was a male avi who said he lived in the area. He didn't harrass me exactly but he was vague about the fact that I should consider all possibiliites before moving there. I didn't take the time to figure out what the bleep he was talking about. Later that night a female avi IM's me and told me that I had been on the plot for 15 minutes and I was *expletive*ing up the sim and told me she was watching me and that I need to leave. WOW! All this while I'm minding my own business looking at this plot. VERY STRANGE. I noticed that the first male avi who talked to me is listed as the second Avi's partner. *Sighs*. I might still buy the plot, I do really like it. In that case I think I'll be ejecting and banning these two and not the bots. Oh, and when I logged on this am the bot that was stuck flailing in the 'I'm falling" position onto the plot was still there. LOL. I have a feeling these 2 don't want that plot to be sold!
  14. Hi everyone, I'm looking at a plot I might buy but there is a building (business?) next door and there seems to be avatars hanging around that say 'staff greeter' but I think they are...is the term, bots? I don't think they have humans operating them. I wouldn't care but I wonder if this will affect sim performance and can they increase lag? Right now there is one actually stuck on the parcel I want to buy--she's flailing her arms in the 'I'm falling but never land' position. Frankly, it's annoying. There's also one seemingly on autopilot walking on the road in front of this parcel and repeatedly whacking himself into the hill and bouncing off repeatedly. Ad nauseum. If I buy this plot and they wander on to my land, can I eject them? And just what are these things exactly? Thanks :))
  15. Hi Rhiannan, I would be very interesed in the answer to your question too! I don't think there is anything that can be done, as long as it is on mainlaind. That is one of the joys of mainland (put anything up that you want at any altitude on your land ) and one of the downfalls of mainland (having to stare at everything that your neighbors put up on their land ). Still, I love mainland and have a couple of plots on 2 continents. I also use Phoenix and use the 'derender ' option all the time! It's turned a so-so view from one of my plots into a stellar one )
  16. Hi Sam! To answer your question, I had a FB profile for awhile for my avi but then didn't really have much use for it and it was just one more thing to log on and check...so I deleted it and now have added a few SL friends to my RL facebook page and they have added me to theirs. These are people I've known in SL for a year and trust with my personal information. It's a juggling act sometimes knowing how much information to give people to remain safe. In general I use FB to communicate with family that live far from me and to post pictures of my dog Enjoy Sl and feel free to say hello to me anytime if you find me in-world! And congrats on your baby . --Ruby
  17. Wow great post Holocluck! I can't wait to continue exploring and looking for all these great landmarks!!
  18. I too love the Hetorcera Atoll. I own a small plot on both Sansara in the snowlands and on the Atoll. While I LOVE my snowy plot (the view is to die for ) I agree that the Atoll makes sense as a coherent land mass. I have been exploring the various roads in and around the Atoll by horseback and it's been most interesting seeing the landscape and builds. Sansara is very disjointed and as far as I know you can't travel it by road.
  19. Hi diosabonita0, When did you become a premium member? The 1000 Linden bonus is paid 45 days after you join. The 300 bonus is paid weekly every Tuesday. If your 1000 bonus is late (if you joined over 45 days ago) or you are not receiving your weekly stipend contact live support--it's one of the benefits of being a premium member.
  20. Hi Ella, If you're asking how much to sell it for maybe you can look at other land for sale in your area and see what the going rate is for land in your region. Also since your plot is on the water that might make it worth more, depending on the view.
