1. Thanks for the support and help.... from each of you.... i will look around and see if legacy exists.. But i am also hoping to ctach a few people that know 3DS Max, well enough to tell me what is wrong.
2. Ive just moved from 3ds max 2013 to MAX 2015, my last model was created in Max 2013....My main issues is rendering to textureing, baking the textures... I use MR with a basic skylight and MR lights inside the building. What i am experiecing is blurryness in my baked texttures..if i even render a complete map or just a simple diffues map at 2048, it still turns out blurrry... I have even rendered a 4096x4096, the model is only 15m x 25m, really no use to even go that high at 4096, but i still get a burry outcome when i bring it to inworld The following is my set up: 1) If you closely the brick is really blurry next is my FG and my renderer set up and i used Mitchell also..... that didnt seem to work ok next is a simple diffuse texture map I hope someone can help me solve this. Thanks for those that help
3. That just makes everything darker LOL and makes it look like the diffuse map ... and no AO is showing in it
4. I will tell you what i spin, keep in mind please.. i am hard of hearing in other words deaf.. and i do VOICE, i do NOT voice as well as other will.. I do spin todays alt/rock/punk... I do spin todays Hardcore/metalcore I DO NOT spin mainstream music..i will throw in a few popular songs here in there and will play if its requested... I have been a DJ for a goood 6 yrs.. i do not have a very goood following, because i do not come on SL much unless i have to dj or upload a model PS...i can spin 80's and 90's rock also....not a perference... If youre interested please PM me on skype anakinsw2010 or codyla2014
5. First of all, what kind of rock is allowed?? The reason i ask is...is it a 80's , 90's or todays rock venue Theres dj's that only spin 80's and 90's and so on... But i will tell you what i spin, keep in mind please.. i am hard of hearing in other words deaf.. and i do speak, i do NOT voice as well as other will.. I do spin todays alt/rock/punk... I do spin todays Hardcore/metalcore I DO NOT spin mainstream music..i eill throw in a few popular songs here in there and will play if its requested... I have been a DJ for a goood 6 yrs.. i do not have a very goood following, because i do not come on SL much unless i have to dj or upload a model If youre interested please PM me on skype anakinsw2010 or codyla2014
6. I have no reflection on, in my texture roll out, i have ZERO specular... Do i need to push FG up?? cuz its on draft, it renders faster that way.. this happpenens when i use " complete map... i even baked a diffuse and a ambient, still had a refelective color...
7. Hi guys, its been a while since i have been around on the SL Forums... But i am neeeding some desperate help from those of u that use 3DS max and mental ray. My issues are in the application of course, i have created a modern office style building..my issies are with the lighting making my colors reflect when i bake .... i render with mnetal ray I use a moni set up.. and inverse settings.. as shown i have posted the maps... 1 is the diffuse and 1 is the complete map ...witht he blue circles are the area where its blurring and refelecting on another texture.. Now this is what the modern build looks like in my application.. Any help is greatly apppreciated, if u want to see a pic of it inworld let me know... thanks to all
8. Ty all again... Kwakkelde Kwak i get a bitmap error...."fail to create bitmap" when i use MR, even though i still processes the file apparently..i think i will get a SS of that to also if you need me to... Ok ive also posted 2 maps, both were done in the RTT.. http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o548/Anakinsw2010/test_zpsacc3073c.jpg http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o548/Anakinsw2010/shoptest_zpsffac49b0.jpg The last map, as you can see has no shadows whatsoever. i didnt even use a light, just a standard RTT.. And Codewarrior, yes i am trying to a AO, but its not coming out right... with all this blurryness in the textures...even if i use MR, i still the blurryness and dark borders, thats even with out a "light" and no shadows are disabled...so you tell me...lol... In all honesty this is a bit fustrating, perhaps i could add any of you to could add me to Skype or i can email my project files? , i really would like to know waht i am doing wrong... My Skype name is anakinsw2010 PS: i did a ao map and a diffuse map, merged them in PS, still its blurry when its uploaded to SL....or any other world. Thanks all...
9. Thank you...ill work on what you all said today...ill post back.... As the AO...im not using the ambient occlusion as what Codewarrior has said, and i dont have Vray sadly....and i didnt know you could actually RTT with Vray...thanks for telling me that. But even with no light what so ever... you's think there would not be any dark borders or even any shading wouldnt you think? I will also try MR, just my experience with MR i get errors and errors in my renders alot.. is that because i dont use the Arch and Design? What should my set up be if i use MR? Raytraced shadows? and do i need to configure anything in the "rendere? "
10. Well, i must say i havent been around much and its been a while since i posted on the SL Forums. Recently i have started a project in 3DS max 2013 and i remember i had a problem before with the renderings in Second life, as i use the RTT alot. As i have shown in my pictures as you can see theeres alot of shadows, of course i like that as some im sure they do to....but it has made my textures really blurry as you can see in some. So before you start telling me what to do or if youre offering advice..let me tell what i have done in my set up in 3ds max. - I use the default scanline, i have used MR, when i usd MR with raytraced shadows, it seems to make my textures blurry just like in the pictures below. So, i put everything to default.. scanline is default with no light, just a simple RTT and it looks like what i posted in my pictures. I did try to set my Max layout setting and UI to default, and that didnt help either. So my question is do i nmeed to scratch this project and do all over again? Pictures below: As you can see..the buil;d has black lines around it as well... shadows ... thats not what i wanted either, but even with the deafult scanline it shouldnt even do that ... In the picture below is a SS of my settings in 3DS max. may not able to see it all but i got what i could. Thank you all for helping.
11. OKwell most of you might not use 3ds max, but the question is regarding the texturing in 3ds max. I have noticed that when you use skylight and you use soft shadows on the texture and you import to sl as a .jpg...its blurry. So my question is.. whats the best lighting scene to use.. im not famailiar with vray just yet..however if thats the way i need to go i will go into it. I am just tired of my baked textures being so blurry. I do use skylight alot with soft shadows enabeled. So its either im doing something wronng in SL or MAX? i have uploaded a texture map from the RTT with lighting but was pretty dark. So i need to get you allsperferences in the lighting and what do you all use. -Anakin-
12. As Myra said, you can try to apply a texture.. But its bettre to use your own 3d program if you use blendor why not just create your own and whole object? As Myra said you should get the uvw map and import it to PS and addd your texture there.
13. Wow! Thanks... chip, i owe you LOL!...only issue was when i used a .tga format i was seeing thru it... so i did ise a jpg format that was better. Another question., how do i make the shadow darker , when i enable the shadows function, when i use skylight?
14. I did everything like you told me...this is my result... http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o548/Anakinsw2010/3ds%20max/rtt-try2.png This is what happened when i appl;ied it to the object http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o548/Anakinsw2010/3ds%20max/secondtry_001.png http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o548/Anakinsw2010/3ds%20max/secondtry_002.png So...now i dunno what to do now...
