  1. It sounds to me like you might be talking about sculpted prims as they will often appear all "twisted" when they don't rez properly. Is it all prims that are having the problem or just sculpted prims? There's a little know trick that can help sculpt prim rezzing, but be careful not to mess too much with debug settings as you could screw something up! You need to go into the advanced menu (Ctrl+Alt+D to show the menu if it's not on your menu bar in the viewer), then go to 'Show Debug Setting', then type 'rendervolumelodFactor' in the box and change its setting to something like 5 (its its only at 1 or 2 you may well experience problems with sculpt rezzing). More info here: http://www.baxcoen.com/2009/09/09/rendervolumelodfactor/
  2. There already is a JIRA Faubio: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20074 This (and the related JIRAs attached to it) are all likely the same problem. Viewer 2.1 crashes at logon with the crash logger briefly appearing. There is a workaround in that JIRA but it's a little complex and a rollback may be the preferred option if the OP is not happy meddling with network settings. It's what I highlighted in my previous post. Torley is aware of it and I have been reliably informed that the techies at the Lab are looking into it.
  3. If you are using Viewer 2.1 this sounds very much like the dreaded (and slightly complex!) NetBIOS 'bug'. Read this for more info and proceed with caution: http://blogs.secondlife.com/message/312663#312663 If you follow the instructions In the JIRA linked from that message it should hopefully work for you. I had the same problem with 2.1 and fixed it by enabling NetBIOS.

You can argue, like many others, that when an item is full perm, the maker has lost every right to it. I do not agree You do not know how that full perm item got spread. It could be the maker who distributed it, or it could be the former trusted partner or friend that decided to turn on the maker. Yeah, yeah, I know, I have heard all the arguments about stupidity, own fault etc If you want to make money on other peoples work, you do have a moral obligation to find out if you can. Unless you really couldn't care one bit about right or wrong Your own sense of morals will answer the question for you Quite simply, THIS ^
  5. Stick a post-it note to the top right hand corner of your screen? ;-)
  6. As Kitty says, while the hosted content is outside of LL's reach, i would assume that the object in-world would be AR'able if it is breaking one of the ToS.
  7. You do realise that i think all these questions popping up from Lexie Linden back in March must have been from when they were testing the system right?
  8. Check if "object entry" is enabled on the parcel. If it is, its likely that the creator dragged it in to the parcel from an adjoining parcel that did allow him to build.
  9. Once you click the button to deactivate an item, you then get the button showing to actually delete it. Be very careful though. Once you have deleted an item you cannot relist it. Relisting it is against the TOS! If there is any chance that you might want to relist it in the future, best to just deactivate it. It won't show as available if you deactivate it and you can always then relist it in the future should you want

Thanks for all of the help guys:) And truthfully, I only saw it once and can't find it again LOL Easiest place to get to it is from this page - top left on the Fourm Index

The time advantage will happen with the non LL blog feeds where all SL marketing has moved to. Weekend mornings are good. Has anyone looked in the new products feed? I completely lost interest in it. I liked the merchant created ad posts in the old xstreet forum. Those worked pretty well and you only saw ads a merchant that cared enough would post. I only looked at the new products feed once. It's not interesting at all and it doesn't make me want to go look at the product. A total waste in my opinion. I do have to agree with that. I mean ... i do like the fact that its a feed and saves us having to write out a new post, but its very unappealing as it is and the old forums did require people to make a bit of an effort with their new products posts. The fact that they had to make a bit of an effort usually meant they were worth looking at and could be a good source of spotting some cool new items. Maybe if they improved that feed to have thumbnail pics it would be better. What would be even better still is if they could tie it in to the listing so that when someone listed a new item they had to tick a box and type a little description for it to show in the feed. At least then it would require a bit of effort on the merchants part and may avoid a flood of quick freebies that are quickly listed with no description. (Not that there is anything wrong with some freebies being listed in the feed, but i'd much rather people are forced to make a bit of an effort to make their items look and sound appealing so that the feed holds more value!)
  12. 6:32pm and 13 seconds on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Except when there is a full moon. The its 10:46pm and 21 seconds. (Sorry - i'm in a cheeky sort of mood today! I'd better avoid the forums! )

As you know, it was reported long ago, the team is aware of it, a fix is pending. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/XSL-32 Good find Laney! I wasn't aware of that Jira. It's obviously being worked on because Siz has commented on the Jira, so we'll just have to sit tight and wait for a fix
  14. Maia.Gasparini wrote: Well, just to add my own experience with it! I'm using IE8 and the 'remove marked' button is completely unresponsive. When I click it, the page doesn't even refresh. Suella I took your advice and downloaded the Google Chrome browser JUST to delete some favourites as I had pages and pages and PAGES of items in there! They deleted fine in Google Chrome. Ahhh ok - sounds like its a IE issue then, but also an issue with some Firefox users. I know they have promised to fix a few IE issues they found, so maybe its rolled in with that. I'll drop Pink a quick message tomorrow (don't wanna bug her on a Sunday!) asking her if she knows about this. You never know though, maybe a Linden will see this and respond before then. They have been very active here just lately
  15. This one seems to have been floating around for a while and its very odd. It works ok for me , but i do have to refresh my page after removing for it to go from the favourites list. I'm using Google Chrome. Maybe it is a browser specific issue, although i find it a little odd how something like that could be browser specific. It would be interesting to get a Linden comment on this so maybe i'll give Pink or someone a nudge about it. Not today though as its Sunday ... i'll wait until Monday
  16. Ahhh - i figured this one out Go to your profile (just click on your picture here in this post for easy access) and choose "edit profile". Then on the option for "last name" make sure it is set to "show". Its weird but that then works - it will show your avatar first name and last name without the period
  17. There were some problems with money transfers not showing up in Xstreet which it could have been related to? See the grid status here for the latest update: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/
  18. There is a list here of currency exhanges that are (generally speaking) approved by Linden Labs, although they say they can't be held responsible for problems with non-official exchanges: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/L$_Marketplace There is also a comment on there telling you to contect LL if you have problems with a particular exchange. Hope this helps! EDIT TO ADD: I would recommend you only ever buy or sell $L from someone on this list and, to be honest, i would always use the official lindenx exhnage myself just to be on the safe side even though i might get a marginally worse exchange rate.
