It was a great and laudable idea, but -- as it so often happens -- the execution was lacking. It seems that the  Marketplace, as well as the inworld delivery system behind it, pretty much broke down due to the overwhelming response of the SL community.

I did not get my bear and assume that the transaction was rolled back. But instead of giving it another try (and another try, and then another one), I will find a different channel to donate the money, because my own Marketplace sales are also suffering from the onslaught.

The deliveries of other merchant's products are failing as well. It seems almost as if the new Marketplace would scale as badly as the SL grid itself. So while I support the sentiment behind this fundraiser, I really hope that LL will take a different approach in the future.

Alternatively, you could fix the Marketplace and the unreliable magic box delivery system. Which is not the only thing that needs fixing btw. While you're at it, it would be great if you could also give us the option to disable the sales confirmation spam, enable customer review notifications for merchants, and add a messaging system that allows customers to notify merchants in case of delivery failures.

Furthermore, the login process needs to be automated or made compulsory, and the maturity rating preference has to be the same as the one that customers chose in their SL client. Right now, the sales of mature and adult products are tanking due to the recent changes that were made to accomodate legal minors on this very adult platform. You might also want to automate the redelivery process, so that customers are not left with the sole option of giving us a one-star rating and a bad review (which merchants are currently not even being notified of). Site looks crappy in Internet Explorer / Maxthon 2 (see attached screenshot), I don't see that anything has been archived or converted (where are our images, post counts, avatars and whathaveyou?), forum avis are way too tiny, smileys mess up the line spacing, and the new mods are bloody fascists. Well done I hate it.

[Maturity Changes in the Marketplace]

Could you please announce drastic changes like this one via email? I haven't checked this forum in ages, and it was a mere coincidence that I happened to see this thread. The vast majority of residents never read the forums, or the blog for that matter. Soon merchants will have their listings flagged without knowing what's going on. You really need to communicate important things more efficiently.

PS: Please make sure that the future adult checkbox will be visible to both account- and age-verified residents. Better yet, to all adult residents. After all, minors will now sign up with a teen account, so we can safely assume that all non-teenagers are adults.

PPS: While you're changing the Marketplace, could you do something about the missing review notification? I noticed today that I have tons of new reviews, most of which are saying "I didn't receive the item!". Those customers never contacted me. Nor did they open a ticket, apparently. They just left a one-star review, and I had no idea what happened because I no longer receive an email if a new review is posted. I'd also like to be able to turn off email notification for purchases. Thanks in advance.

My classified ads don't show up in 1.23-based viewers, unless people disable PG and mature content and leave only the adult checkbox enabled. And in v2, the text is now truncated. Could this perhaps be fixed at some point in the foreseeable future, maybe before you're asking me to waste even more money on advertisements that nobody can see?
