  2. You forgot to mention that you can be banned for registering Ebbe Linden's name on Twitter and refusing LL's request that you hand it over. ...Dres *won't mention that there's also plenty more things for which you cannot be banned*

  5. Ivanova Shostakovich wrote: I don't currently have an opportunity to test this, but I remember, once upon a time, if you viewed calling cards in your inventory, the names of those belonging to online friends would be displayed in bold. It still works that way... in fact, the easiest way to do it is to simply type the word "online" into your inventory search. @the OP: I wouldn't place much confidence in out-of-world, online indicators (including the ones on user profiles). They've never proven themselves to be entirely accurate, as far as I can tell. ...Dres

Dillon Levenque wrote: Marigold Devin wrote: If I write here that I hope someone assassinates Cameron, smug tw4t that he is, if he does get assassinated, will they be looking for me ... or my avatar? (edited for spacing) Wow. Thank you for so emphatically taking yourself off the list of people I respect. While I do find what Marigold wrote to be quite contentious, I wouldn't necessarily write her off as unworthy of any sort of respect. Most people who are politically conscious and human have fantasized about the destruction of their political adversaries. It's not difficult to understand that someone, when highly emotional, would blurt out or write that they wished such-and-such would just die, without actually advocating that something of the sort should actually take place. I have no idea how Marigold actually feels, but, I've known her long enough to be able to give her the benefit of the doubt and understand that she probably wouldn't actually advocate for the death of a fellow human being simply to prop up her own political position... maybe that's just me. ...Dres

  12. Senobia Xenga wrote: Pamela Galli wrote: And if you do trash talk our SL, don't be surprised if you get some pushback on that. What do you mean "our SL"? You don't own one blessed thing about 'your SL' besides the parcel you may be standing on and a few random prims you may have created. In short, the only thing you're running is your mouth. And when you trash talk for the rest of us who have just as much right to be here as you do, don't be surprised if you get some pushback on that. At this point in my forum experience, I (most probably should and yet seemingly) never cease to be amazed by that with which some individuals insist upon taking umbrage. ...Dres *rolls his eyes*

And anyway, it would be self-deprecating; the Scots are only the Welsh that tried to swim to Ireland, but got lost. 14. Magnus Brody wrote: Derek Torvalar wrote: Magnus Brody wrote: LlewLlwyd wrote: Magnus Brody wrote: It was clear to me that you did not accuse me of being Rab C Nesbitt, rather you accused me of spending a great deal of time in a country which regarded him as the "acme of wit" which would be a generic stereotyping of me by nationality or by the nationality of those I associate with, which as stated previously, was a racist remark. Racist because you rely on the fundamental underpinning which is racism, this being "The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race". Not all Scots regard Rab C Nesbitt to be the "acme of wit" and to suggest, as you have, is a racist stereotyping. Methinks the lady doth protest o'ermuch. [PS The Scots aren't a race; they don't even want to govern themselves.] Methinks you are an idiot, that doesn't mean I'm right. Methinks you have made a racist remark and built upon it, that is readable and clear. Mewonders what you'll be called next week. Forgive me for interjecting here but I believe you are misusing the term 'racist'. Correct me if I am wrong. You're forgiven! No, I don't think I am. I think you're definitely using it incorrectly. LLewd was referencing your nationality, not your race. Therefore, you may consider it representive of prejudice against your nationality, but you have no grounds upon which to consider it racist... there is a difference. ...Dres *won't even get into the fact that a person's sense of humor is often influenced by the community in which they are embedded and how differentiating between what people of different countries find funny isn't necessarily a bad thing* (Unless, of course, your main goal is to overly vilify someone for whom you simply do not care.)

  18. Magnus Brody wrote: I remember a time when many of us fought long and hard to retain a GENERAL DISCUSSION forum mostly because, when the new forums were introduced, minus the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum, they were so prescriptive/specific and often irrelevant there was nowhere to ask general questions. Oh please... I played a large part in the fight for a GD forum and, as I remember, no one was fighting for a place to ask general questions, since there already was a place for that... namely, Answers. Granted, as screwed up as that place is, I'd never direct anyone there for any reason whatsoever... but, I certainly wouldn't complain about someone else doing so in a nonconfrontational manner, as Derek does. Magnus Brody wrote: Now it seems, unless we follow your rules of what is acceptable or post in fear of being grammatically corrected continually by your supercilious friend, the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum has become an unfriendly place to generally discuss anything. I don't make a habit of correcting people's grammatical mishaps, but, if there's one thing I've learned over the course of years which I've spent participating in forums, it's that avoiding grammatical mishaps is far more effective than getting all butthurt when someone points out that I haven't. ...Dres

  21. See this Jira... http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-6623. Pay close attention to Efran Loon's comment, specifically, "I accidentally noticed that if I hovered the mouse cursor over the area just above 'Profile' button and below the icons I got a drag to resize cursor! So I dragged it up and my Received Items came back." If that doesn't work, I suggest you perform a clean reinstall (link) and rebuild your settings instead of restoring them. ...Dres
