It’s because some people go through and trash products that they have never bought.

I'm just happy that we don't get the bot spam like we used to.. The forums are pretty tame nowadays compared to other versions.
OMG I had forgotten that— pages and pages of spam!

I don’t see much problem handling new posters — most are perfectly well behaved, and those that are not pretty quickly run into the brick wall of acceptable forum etiquette. Some people are just not aware that there is such a thing, although some are well aware and are here just to troll, in which case the mods handle them fairly efficiently.
I just don’t see that we need such a layer of protection from unruly new posters.

What I see repeatedly is someone preemptively insulting the entire forum in their first post (usually in which they are asking for help) then attacking those who reply, then citing it all as an example of how mean forumites are.

Zombies, who resemble familiar humans but just want to devour brains, I suppose because they no longer have any, and take over the world.

What Second Life has is an unregulated free market economy. Period.
Not entirely, because LL removes items from marketplace that have not sold in a long time or ever, or when a merchant has not logged in in a long time. LL is also very strict about the use of any of its super secret banned words. Also I had to relist my bars as Moderate because liquor was shown in the pictures (presumably Applebee’s is PG 13 since anyone who walks in sees the bar. But I digress.) They also in theory remove IP infringing content.

SL is different from RL in that supply doesn’t decrease when products are sold. Supply only expands, notwithstanding that sellers do take a few things off sale now and then.
After years of expanding supply and shrinking demand due to shrinking customer base, you get quite a glut of inventory, and with it ever decreasing prices — on top of LL not only loading sellers with more and increasing fees but going into direct competition with sellers (eg houses).
Sellers scrambling to maintain income are naturally going to resort to whatever will enable them to get things on the market as fast as they can, which means not spending the time it takes to make original content regularly.

Sometimes I will use MP to search and then go in-world to look and purchase. You can't tell LOD from MP. Sometimes you don't even get a prim count or land impact count on MP. I'm not spending my money on something I can't see when there's no demo.
The best use of MP is what you describe — to locate inworld demos. If you know how to effectively use the marketplace search, it’s not that hard. Plus not long ago LL announced multiple measures to ensure stale products don’t sit there forever. Also, some are still unaware: You can redeliver copyable items to yourself.
And let me repeat our frequent refrain in the forum:
NEVER BUY WITHOUT SEEING A DEMO! No demo, no purchase.
So IMO if you find that Marketplace is full of garbage from 2008 — you’re doing it wrong.

I rarely use the MP, it's filled with low quality garbage and also old creations,
Is it? I put pretty much all my products on both marketplace and inworld. Only a very few — older but good sellers — are only on the marketplace. Marketplace charges me 10% but it’s convenient for customers, who can browse marketplace and locate the inworld demo, plus can redeliver copyable things to themselves.

Earth is not only abundantly compatible with life, it is where the unfathomable occurred: out of dead matter, life arose.
If that’s not a miracle, it’s pretty close to it.
And we think when we have destroyed it we can just find another.

LL is notorious for keeping banned words secret. No one knows why.

I am not interested in having information of this type on this issue in this forum, I am not interested in having them from anonymous people. If I want to find out, I do it on the official bodies of the health and statistical institutes titled by the state.
This thread has another topic.
Also your Member Title is quite controversial.
I would also like to understand the meaning of the wording "Advisor" under an account name and what it means in this forum to have it, but this is something that I will look for explanations elsewhere.Okay, check it out on CDC.
I did not know I was an advisor until you mentioned it. I imagine it’s because I give such good advice.

Certainly. because those who get vaccinated are much less likely to end up in intensive care or die. They may always be affected by the disease but they will pass it like a simple cold. Most of those dying now are idiots who didn't want to get vaccinated.
You think so? Read some of the comments from those who had long covid:

Shortness of breath, heart palpitations, tingling hands and feet, brain fog. Some days I’m fine. Some days I can’t get out of bed. It needs to be talked about period. Every time we mention covid, we should be talking about that it doesn’t go away.

We need to have supports in place for people without positive PCR tests. I got sick in March 2020 with a suspected case of COVID-19, but when I mention my long-COVID doctors badger me about not having a test: but there were no tests. Now, once again, there aren't enough tests.

Increasingly, there are hints from researchers about what causes long-COVID. But doctors, by and large, remain ignorant of these findings. We need to have a plan in place to disseminate research to PCPs+specialists: given the reality that long-COVID affects *many* bodily systems.

I celebrate my 21 month covidaversary tomorrow. For 21 months I've had shortness of breath, lingering cough, fatigue, joint pain, gastrointestinal issues, and I'm now diabetic. We need to be listened to - we're the experts who live with this daily.

It’s not been “an experience” it’s been hell. It’s been torture. I have tried to do all the things to stay in the light. to find dignity and accept and heal but it’s cruel and inhumane to navigate it all. Urgent national coverage and immediate task force

This administration need to STOP hiding the disabling nature of this virus. Long COVID is not a "rare" outcome and it can happen to anyone including the vaxxed. Current policies are only creating MORE chronic illness and disability due to catastrophic transmission.

My ex-husband is a covid longhauler. He got it 14 months ago and can still barely work. Our 20 yo is fully supporting him and our 17 yo who spends half her time with them. He only qualifies for $300/month in food stamps which doesn't last the whole month. Please do something.

First it was hunts then charity events then sale events, all of which I tried out as a merchant and quit after a few tries. I have a pretty store with everything arranged as I like, and I always have seasonal gifts out. What do I want to mess with events for? It’s not worth any additional money I might make on an event. Word of mouth is still king.
I have no interest in shopping inworld, certainly not anywhere crowded. If there’s some tool I need I buy it on MP.

Ah. The "Covid 15."
A little noticed, but remarkably common side effect of the disease . . . sort of.
A side effect of avoiding Covid by abandoning the gym and hiding out at home with lots of time to cook/study takeout menus.

LL should put ChinRey and Penny Patton in charge of designing and building the new user experience, and staffing it with official guides.
And see what happens.

Interesting video of 2021 new user experience. Comments too.
After all these years, this is what LL has come up with for new ppl.

No I don't believe that the symbols of the CSA belong in the town square I do feel its wrong to remove them from the cemetery the grave yard is a place where people hold sacred to the memory of there love ones anything placed there was not out of come campaign of fear or whatever but as a place of memory and What better place to remember bad ideas than a place where the dead are remembered. and no matter what the person below ground felt we need to retain our humanity and remember respect the persons intured purely out of the fact that they were human.
and thus my pet peeve is displayed here Something that was purely done to RESPECT THE DEAD has become political. note both the US flag and the other were knocked over likely by the wind if you see something knocked over in a grave yard it is simply respectful to place it upright. it is not a place to let your political feelings get in the way.
I understand your point but I think few dead Nazis in Germany have Nazi symbols on their graves. There might be other things they did to earn respect but being a Nazi was not among them.

I have had RLS off and on since childhood. I had a very bad period a couple of years ago, went days without sleep. Mirapex worked until it caused augmentation and made it worse. Gabapentin worked briefly but knocked me out and is addictive. But I got lucky, one trip to the acupuncturist stopped it cold, until just recently. Now I am trying ashwaganda and so far so good, have an appt with acupuncturist.
Never take antihistamines with RLS unless you want to do jumping jacks all night.
I do eat gummies to sleep all night, RLS or not
