I have decided to step up and try to do something when I see a 1 star rating for an item that simply did not get delivered. You have all probably seen these kinds of customer comments, and maybe even recieved some yourselves, they go something like this: "Although the SL invoice shows the item has been delivered, I have not received it as yet. Could you please check?" and come with a lovely gift of a 1 star rating, just to kick the merchant into doing something about it. However, I have noticed a lot of these ratings simply do not get revised even if a considerable amount of time has passed - so who knows whether the merchant has or has not addressed the issue, and redelivered? I realize that some of these ratings may be justified, in that the merchant may have disappeared from SL, or just not care about marketplace problems, but since we do not get any notification of any ratings given at all, and the customers who leave these ratings don't seem to revise them once they recieve the item, I decided to add my own comments to these reviews, in order to raise awareness of the situation we face as merchants. Here is an example of what I write, this one in response to the above review.- it was a week after the review had been posted, enough time I would say for the merchant to be contacted in-world and redeliver: "Has the merchant checked for you, and has it now been delivered? If so, why not amend the 1 star rating, as it seems a little unfair to be giving 1 star to an item that you claim hasnt even been delivered yet. I am a merchant myself, and sometimes I wait up to a few hours for money from a sale to reach me, but I never claim that the customer didn't pay me, only that this system does not work as it should sometimes. Please don't penalize the merchant over a system that fails a little too often and that we don't have any contol over. Also, please be aware that we, as merchants, do not get any kind of notification about any ratings given, or any reviews left, so it would be better to contact the merchant in SL itself to resolve any problems." Am I crazy, or will this go some way to help raising awareness that when something goes wrong in the system, it's rarely the merchant who is to blame?
