  1. But why worry about this? It isnt like they are leeching people from other clubs ... let them continue and waste their money while they try to get traffic up, people arent stupid, if they see a high traffic club but nobody is there, they won't stay for long waiting for it to fill up. After some time, the owners will realize it's not paying to keep it open.
  2. This is why each listing should display a 'Listed on...' date stamp.
  3. Look everybody, just click that link in her sig and make her stop posting! (If you cant find her link, it's the one at the bottom of this post) *whistles innocently*
  4. Hmm, I logged into the marketplace with an alt and found a 1 star review, then clicked 50 times on the 'NO' box (yes, i counted!) and it was till there at the end, so perhaps it needs a few different people to click it before it disappears, who knows.
  5. Continuing the interesting topic of marketplace reviews, does anybody in all the world know if that question that appears under a review has any function at all? "Was this review helpful? YES NO" It is in bold and sometimes takes up the same amount of space the review actually took, so why the hell have it there??
  6. Include a list of other reviews these people write, and a link to their profile, it would sort out who was who very quickly.
  7. Amen. And all they let you do to flag it, is mark for 'inappropriate content' rather than give a good reason for it. I just hope the average shopper has enough sense to take these reviews with a pinch of salt and see then for what they are.
  8. I got this kind of email a couple of days ago too. I bought something, and the money was taken from my account (I was online so I heard the kaching and saw the balance change) then I had it delivered, it came by magic box, and then came the delivery failed email within a few seconds of getting it.
  9. Best offer ever! I was refunded 999L and 5 hours later billed 999L, what a senseless and complete waste of resources - but if it makes them feel better because they 'did something for us' then what the hell ... I am not sure I feel any more appreciated and patient at all.
  10. Damn! They took the cash for it from me too not long ago too!
  11. Thanks, I guess I didnt notice it back then, and really?? They will charge for the period when it's not even known if the enhancement was active or not? (sorry, replying to what Darius said in that other thread lol)
  12. I kind of felt something was wrong with my $L balance lately, and couldnt quite put my finger on it ... then I looked at my listing enhancements reports page and found out what! I have a category landing page enhancement that seems to be active according to the 'Magange Subscriptions' page, and yet last time it was charged was July 23, 2012 and apparently next charge will be ... August 22, 2012 ... The 'Listing Enhancements' page does not list anything, and yet on my edit item page the enhancement is active, the Manage Subscriptions page says its active, but I also have not been billed for it this month (Spet 22nd, should have been). Check your enhancements people!
  13. I was just about to post a topic about this and then i saw this thread. I have had almost three weeks of above average sales (and by that I mean above average weekly cash outs, compared to the last two years of MP sales) and then from Sunday onwards, boom, almost nothing, I have made rent for this month, but that's about it. What's changed in SL to make this happen?
  14. Domsson, your ideas are brilliant, and I agree with everything you said. I would like to add though, that it annoys the hell out of me that the marketplace wiki even suggests that buyers leave a good review for customer service - ok, if the merchant was helpful with a problem then fine, but if the merchant had to fix a faulty item, then surely it's the merchant's fault. I test my items thoroughly, and so I am being penalized when another merchant gets a shining review that they 'were quick to fix an item that didnt work properly', and that seems very unfair to me. Then we come to the 'make an alt, leave a review for yourself' crowd - I know it happens, but I have yet to stoop so low to do this, although after hearing the effect a review may have, I am really starting to wonder if my morals are just too high for this jungle! AND .. lol, I also know there are merchants who offer discounts and other prizes to people who leave good reviews, I have got the notecards about it from some groups, which also makes the actual reviews suspect. Also, 50 reviews for 500 sales is good, my best seller has sold 1900 times on the MP and only got 7 reviews ... you could say people are sucked in to buying it and then they dont like it much after they got it, but they can see it in-world, so I dont really go with that version. Thursday rant over, thanks for letting me vent!
  15. I can relate, having noticed today that I got a 3 star review of my demo a day ago.
  16. For the last 2 or 3 months my sales have been down a little in general, maybe by 20%, and since then I have noticed a rather regular pattern where for about two weeks sales are good, then for the next two weeks sales dry up. I have had the philosophy for a long time now to not touch things, so I dont advertize, dont post much in my groups, so in my opinion this cant be the effects of what I do (or not do) because it goes bad and then gets better despite what I do. I just assume it is the effects of search working, maybe it takes around 2 weeks for the numbers to be crunched, I have no idea. I have been selling mostly on the MP and I have considered closing my shop, but then you never know who comes to see the stuff in-world and then uses the MP to buy in the end, so they can have the power of a bad rating when it doesnt get delivered, etc. (I certainly never get any good rating for good customer service, like some other merchants I see have, even though I have spent hours trying to solve problems that werent caused by my items .. oh look, i am rambling!)
  17. Done it, and it might be a good idea to edit the original post to include the jira link, otherwise it gets lost in the many pages.
  18. There may be something to Pearl's theory. I have a listing that has been duplicated - the listing is there and completely normal, while there is another listing with the same picture but different title and seller too. The date it was listed: 9th Sept 2010
  19. Just had a look at mine and .. one of my listings has a different item name and seller name, had no price, no perms, was not active in the item list, and when I clicked on it, the picture was wrong too. I dont have the energy to try to work on it tonight ... people, check your listings!
  20. I am going to leave the definition of what happened to me to the people interested in being lawyers, and just explain it. This happened to me the day before DD rolled out, the 20th March. I got 3 notifications by email that my magic box had delivered items worth in total $4500L, but on my merchant's page, those items were marked as being "Delivery Failed". I contacted the three buyers and confirmed that they had paid, and that they had recieved the item, so I sent a ticket about it to LL. I was told that they could not credit me for those sales because the status was 'Failed' and that I should switch to Direct Delivery as soon as possible. This may not be the kind of situation Josh means when he says robbed, but I am still sore because that money would have gone along way towards tier this month.
  21. I discovered a 'fix' for when customers do not get an offline delivery by accident! It explains why some customers do not receive their items from the marketplace, even though they are delivered, and even though they may be redelivered by the merchant. However, this only relates to offline deliveries. I was having a problem with getting offline IMs - they would come to email, but when I logged back in, they would not appear. I also had a couple of marketplace deliveries that did not come, but at that time I didn't think to connect the two occurrences in any way. I started looking for a solution, thinking it might be a viewer bug - I use Phoenix, and I thought maybe it was a bug introduced in the latest release. I found the Phoenix 'Jira' for bugs, and there were a few threads that talked about this problem. Notably, this one: http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/PHOE-3663 It turned out this was not a Phoenix bug, but a SL server bug, and pointed to the LL Jira - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7540? What those two threads point out is, that for some reason, and only sometimes, when an account's mute list is empty, offline IMs do not get delivered. The important point for merchants too is, that offline deliveries also not not get delivered. The work around suggested by Maestro Linden is to mute someone or something, doesn't matter what or who, and usually the queued IMs and deliveries get sent. However, in my experience, there may be so many that they are capped. Also, this does not affect everyone equally - some alt accounts do not experience this problem, and some people already have something in their mute list and still experience it. So if a customer complains of not having got their item, even after you delivered it by hand, perhaps it's worth telling them about the muting and see what happens.
  22. The first thing I thought when I saw your second post was, huh, voting? I thought voting was disabled on the jira some time ago, they can never make up their minds, can they!?
  23. Different stuff in different boxes, good point, perhaps we will be allowed to have different folders within the main DD folder to replicate that? Who knows
