Given the information for @Ophelie Ayres in the newer Jira, I found the time at which the car gained the grey box. The agent who appears as the creator of the box had been region-crossing on it several times before the car was derezzed to the corrupted asset. This appears to be a case of BUG-3547.

Second Life Server
The SLS channel will get the version that was previously on the RC channels.
https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2023-03-24.579022.html
Scheduled Tuesday, April 4, between 06:30 - 11:30 PDT.
Second Life RC
Most of the RC regions will be restarted to the same build that they had last week (which also matches what SLS is getting), but one of them will get a new version. Aside from some bug fixes, the new version includes (wiki page updates are pending..):
- Doubling the linkset data memory limit to 128KiB
- New function llList2ListSlice(): Returns a list that is a vertical slice of a strided list.
- New function llSortListStrided(): Returns a sorted version of a strided list.
- New function llListFindListStrided(): Returns the beginning index of a stride that matches a given pattern.

Hi @Ophelie Ayres, I looked at the car and see the prim. I also see that copy of the object already included the extra grey prim before you rezzed that copy of it in "Super Island" earlier today. In order to investigate the issue properly, we need more information about the time and place the object was corrupted at, and any details about what may have triggered the corruption. Could you please file a jira with information?

The SLS channel will simply be restarted this week. No version change.
https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2023-01-20.577734.html
Scheduled Tuesday, March 21, between 06:30 - 11:30 PDT.
Second Life RC
The RC channels will be rolled during their usual time slot on Wednesday. The RC channel regions are getting one of two new versions. One set of regions will get an update to the existing version - this update contains 2 additional bug fixes. The other set of regions will get support for a new private estate setting to optionally restrict access to scripted agents; you can read about this change here.

The SLS channel will simply be restarted this week. No version change.

Scheduled Tuesday, February 28, between 06:30 - 11:30 PST.
Second Life RC
The RC channels will be rolled during their usual time slot on Wednesday. The majority of the RC regions will be restarted without a version change, while a minority ("BlueSteel" group) will get a new build. The new build is the same as 2023-02-02.578100 which entered RC 2 weeks ago, except that it also includes a fix for BUG-233402. Aside from bug fixes, this build also includes several exciting new LSL features:
- New function llReplaceSubString(): find and replace instances of one substring with another string
- New function llHMAC(): generate the HMAC hash of a message
- New function llSignRSA(): generate an RSA signature of a message, given a private key
- New function llVerifyRSA(): validate whether an RSA signature for a message is valid, given the public key
- New parameters for llGetEnv(): "grid" and "region_rating"
- Dozens of new parameters for llGetSimStats()

https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2023-01-20.577734.html
Scheduled Wednesday, March 1, between 07:00 - 09:30 PST.
Early Access
Since there's been a bit of churn with LSL-related bugs in the recent RC versions, we have already deployed version 2023-02-21.578370 to a handful of test regions, including Debug1 and Debug2. Please feel free to try out the new features there.

Scheduled Wednesday, February 15, between 07:00 - 09:30 PST.
Update: As Lucia notes, there was an unplanned rollback of RC regions on 2023-02-02.578100 this morning (Feb. 16), placing them on the same 2023-01-20.577734 build as the rest of the grid. The reason for the rollback was BUG-233402, which prevented legacy LSO-compiled scripts from triggering an on_rez() event when rezzed.

My Ban Line HUD does not operate under this new server version 577942. It is hard to describe all the symptoms and the things it is doing wrong.
When editing the HUD and doing a reset of the scripts, nothing happens. It is like the reset request is being completely ignored, because the touch menu still responds after the reset.
Teleporting back to a region running 577734 restores normal operation. Anyone else?
I guess I will go look for a JIRA.
For those who are following, we did get a jira for this issue, which triggered the version rollback: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-233288

One new version removes some the length limits on custom header usage for llHttpRequest(). The other new version contains some miscellaneous bug fixes, and also introduces a suite of new LSL functions which allow sound playback across any prim in a linkset. The new LSL functions are:
- llLinkAdjustSoundVolume(): works identically to llAdjustSoundVolume(), but can be applied to any prim in a linkset.
- llLinkSetSoundRadius(): works identically to llSetSoundRadius(), but can be applied to any prim in a linkset.
- llLinkStopSound(): works identically to llStopSound(), but can be applied to any prim in a linkset.
- llLinkSetSoundQueueing(): works identically to llSetSoundQueueing(), but can be applied to any prim in a linkset.
- llLinkPlaySound(): Plays, loops, or triggers a sound from the linked prim.

So the Mainland region I own land in that regularly restarts on Wednesdays didn't restart today, is still on 2022-07-07.573176 and the rolls have ended.
What could be the reason?
[EDIT]
Seems only the LeTigre regions got the new code. 😐
You're correct - one of the RC rolls on Wednesday ended prematurely. This was not as planned. Rather than doing an off-schedule update to the untouched regions, we're planning to wait until next Wednesday.

Hi Maestro! I tried two viewers yesterday. The official SL Viewer was the one that gave me the Grid Emergency error. In fact I downloaded and installed it that morning to try a different viewer since I couldn't get into Aditi. The version is Second Life Release 6.6.1.572458 (64bit)
I normally log in with Firestorm, which only gave me an odd "Invalid Login. Invalid Login." error.
Thanks for the info - I can confirm that 6.6.1.572458 has a strings.xml change that translates the 'LoginFailed' Error ID to the 'grid emergency' message you saw. This was a fairly recent change. I've filed an internal bug about it, as the messaging would almost always be inaccurate.

Thanks Kimberly. There actually was an outage on aditi (noticed and fixed sometime yesterday) which would have affected login for about 6% of residents, including yourself. However, looking at your login failures from yesterday, your viewer should have presented the failure reason as this, rather than any sort of 'grid emergency':
QuoteCould not establish presence. Please try logging in again in a minute. If you feel this is an error, please contact support@secondlife.com.
Which viewer type/version were you using when you hit the incorrect error message?
-
@bigmoe Whitfieldis this issue recurring? If so, please file a jira, with this information from your viewer log:
- The timestamp shown for the LogLoginFailure message
- The Linden_Error_Code value in the LogLoginFailure message
-

Second Life Server
This Tuesday, we rolled version 2022-05-05.571557 to all Second Life Server and Events channels. The only difference between this version and 2022-04-29.571411 is that the new llGetVisualParams() function now supports a restricted set of parameters.

Anyone found static mesh items increased in LI?
in General Discussion Forum

Hi guys, can you point me at the locations of specific objects that have appeared to increase in LI since this change? I would like to rez them in an old version on the beta grid, and get exact stats for how LI shifted with them. There is an open bug report in the feedback portal based on this forum thread, at https://feedback.secondlife.com/server-bugs/p/land-impact-of-some-objects-has-increased-in-server-version-2024-03-188333615376
