  1. Happy Thursday fun seakers! I put together a video of my houseboat trip. Enjoy! Peace!
  2. Yes! Tons of alligators. Lots of birds and fish. We swam in the spring and as we were about to enter the boat 2 gators swam up very close to us! A bit unnerving! Peace!
  3. Hey hey! Happy Friday fun seakers! Just got back from a fantastic vacation on a houseboat! So fun! Peace!
  4. Hey hey! Happy Friday everyone! Covid-19 restrictions eased just a bit here in Florida. I hope all are well and safe! Peace!
  5. Good morning fun seakers! Happy Tuesday! Getting warm here now in Florida. Would rather go outside instead of going to work. They have begun to ease covid-19 restrictions here in Florida. I am not sure that is wise. We still must be very careful to avoid the virus. I continue to wear mask when in stores and continue to self distance (except for LadySue. I continue to get real close to her). I trust you all are still healthy and uninfected! Be safe everyone! A thought for today - “Fear does not stop death. It stops life. And worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away today’s peace.” Peace!
  6. Happy Thursday everyone! I trust all are well and covid-19 free. I just read a sad thing. The passing of Uccello Poultry. She passed from the covid-19 virus. The following is from the Bay City Post. This April, less then a week ago, Uccie replaced the real world for the Big Grid in the sky. I can not imagine the pain and hurt that her partner, her family and her closest friends are feeling. My thoughts, our thoughts, are with them. Events went very fast. As a pixie, she suddenly appeared, sending out messages, just before she went to hospital, where she passed away. All within a week. The day before she passed away she wrote a message for us all. "There's so much I haven't done. Go out and do it for me." Uccie used several alts, or characters, as she corrected me. Most of us know her as Uccello Poultry, she also used the characters Xandah and Zyx Flux. Probably more, I don't know. We know her as cheerful, enthusiastic, open, energetic. Immediately you would feel at ease with her. You know you could trust her. Without much hesitation she would speak about her real life and the difficult moments she has encountered. A wise spirit in a young body. How she would show up was unpredictable. Mostly human, but also a cat, a dog, a mouse, a crazy chicken, a mime, a dragon, a hand or a mermaid. Lately, she was blue. She was here to do things, from the day she rezzed, she was always busy with something. Uccie is on a mission doing things for the Teen Second Life® grid, the Isle of Lesbos, and the Second Life Birthday. For Bay City she took care of the Marina, cleaned cars during the Hot Bay City Nights, and represented Bay City as Miss Bay City 2014. As a reporter for the Bay City Post she did interviews and teased us with hiding at unexpected places. Her love for moles also helped very much during the annual Mole Day in Bay City. Many times she protested the "no mimes" policy at The Pen. She did this, silent, outside the club when events took place. Even when she joined the police, as a mime, she was not able to change that policy. She loved taking images, for the feed, her blog and for Flickr. A bit shy, she posted her first "topless tuesday" picture -- but her shyness was soon overcome. Though of course, walking all day in the open remained a challenge, specially during meetings on G rated land! There was a sudden departure more then a year ago. Uccie had vanished and gave no reply. Not long after came a statement from her on the feed on why, and then it became silent again. We had to live without Uccie knowing she was busy in Real Life. Secret and cunning ways (HAM radio?) were used to keep some of us informed. I was out of that loop, but knew it was there. Then COVID-19 rudely took her life. In her fight for life, she disabled our Second Life. Login was impossible, as she snapped an Internet cable when she went. That's the way to go Uccie! In a way, she was lucky. While most have died (will die) alone by this horrible and unfair virus, her brother and guardian could be with her. She was not alone. She is loved by many. Proof is on the Second Life profile feed, Twitter and in the comments on her last article in the Bay City Post. I am sure she has read it all. I am feeling a bit helpless towards her partner and her brother. I wish I could do something but no idea what. Except perhaps write this, from the heart. Read her last Bay City Post article and remember what she wants us to do. "There's so much I haven't done. Go out and do it for me." -Vick Missing you. Rest in peace Uccie. Peace!
  7. I hope you all are doing good. Remember to wash your hands often and stay home if possible! I love you all! Peace!
  8. Happy Thursday fun seakers! Remember to keep your distance from each other for now and to wash your hands often! Take a look at the picture of a woman fueling her car. This is why I have always wiped down public things. Just saying folks don’t stop once all this craziness dies down! I mean she’s getting deep up in there! Don't forget folks! Wash your hands. And in this case wash them twice! Peace!
  9. Good morning everyone. Happy peak of the week. I hope you are all well. Make sure you wash your hands often. We will get through this! Peace!

  13. Christmas is a wonderful time of year. A time for not only receiving, but of giving. It is fun to receive things. And I do like receiving. However, it is by far much more important to give. It is a time for family. A time to regroup and to focus on things that are really important. A time for home and hearth and that warm glow that this time of year brings. I would like to bring you home for Christmas with me. Christmas as always been my favorite time of the year. Not all of them were the best. However, most of them added a very special memory. I was born May the 12th, 1955. I don't really remember much about my first Christmas. Come now. I was just a little over 7 months old. Give me a break. It was over 60 years ago. It must have been good though. I always seemed to be very happy around Christmas time! Christmases were 2 days in our house. Christmas Eve we had a simple meal of cold cuts, baked beans, chips, potato salad. Then we got in the car and attended the Christmas Eve service at the Lakeview Baptist Church. In the early days we opened presents on Christmas morning. Later on, when my belief in Santa began to wane, we would open our gifts on Christmas Eve. This made the trip to church almost unbearable, as everyone knew what happened when we got back home. The presents! Yes! Yes! Yes! I remember one time I received my first wrist watch. It was early before we made our traditional trip to the Christmas Eve service. Dad saw I was excited. The excitement had been building for weeks now. These weeks if jingle bells. Reindeer hooves and Christmas stockings. So dad gave me a small package early. It was a Timex self winding wrist watch with hands that glowed. It made me very happy. I remember when Christmas Eve was winding down, and it was time for bed, climbing into bed and pulling the covers over my head and staring at the glowing hands on my watch until I drifted off to sleep. The first Christmas I can really remember was Christmas of 1960. I was 5 years old. I was instructed Christmas Eve not to go out into the front room until they had got up. I was a good boy. I did what they said. They did not say that I could not come into their room and pester them to get up. As I recall, it did not take much pestering. They got up and we went into the living room. OMG. Were there only yesterday was only a tree that I had helped my mom decerate, were presents everywhere under the tree! And my stocking was stuffed to overflowing! I could hardly wait till we sat down for the opening! But first breakfast. I had put out cookies and milk for Santa the previous evening and there on the breakfast table was the empty plate with crumbs on it, and the empty glass of milk! And on a chalk slate a note from Santa wishing me a Merry Christmas. Proof positive that Santa really existed! Besides my mother would not lie to me about something so as important as Santa Claus! And then after our breakfast came the presents! I recall receiving a remote control car. A toy helicopter. And some tinker toys. At Christmas 1965 I was 10. I was scoping out the gifts that were appearing under the tree and decided that my mother was not getting the amount of gifts that she deserved. So I proceeded to gather up all of her cosmetics and wrapped them. This was about 1 week before Christmas. Mom could not figure out where all her stuff went! She found out on Christmas morning! Christmas 1965 I received a 3 speed bicycle! It was all the rage and I rode it with such pride! Christmas 1972 I was working as a seasonal worker at K-Mart. I was the first time I had money of my own to buy Christmas gifts. I bought for my parents. A ice cream maker and some kitchen appliances. Christmas 1976 I was in the navy and was going through a divorce. I had duty over the Christmas holiday and had to stay aboard the ship to stand watch. I tell you it was a grim Christmas. I did not want anything to do with Christmas that year. Until I attended a Christmas show presented on the ship. My Christmas spirit was renewed by the show. Christmas 1977 I was still in the navy. The ship was in drydock in long beach California. I shared an appartment with one other sailor Fred and my friend a civilian named Andy. I decided to cook Christmas dinner for us all. We decided to stuff the Turkey with an ounce of good marijuana. We ate the Turkey and the stuffing and waited for the buzz to come on. It did after some time. I have never been so stoned in my life! Christmas 1980 I was out of the navy and I bought my son a go cart. He was too little to reach the pedals so i built up the pedals with blocks of wood so he could reach them. Christmas 1991 I was dating my current wife Susie. We both went out and bought an artificial tree and bought presents to go under it. It was a good Christmas indeed! Christmas 1993 Susie was here with me and we were husband and wife. Our sons James and Mark received lots of presents and after they were all open both of them got into a box. My babies in a box! Many more Christmases came and went. Each one added a special memory that I will remember all the rest of my life. That the cool thing about Christmas. One Christmas adds to the next. They are all cumulative. So now it is Christmas 2019. My 64th Christmas. Wow. Christmases now are spent with grandchildren. We watch with great pleasure as they open each present selected with love and care. It is my hope that all of you will cling to each Christmas memory. The following is what I believe Christmas is all about. C - Christ. Christ is what Christmas is all about is it not? After all Christ is in the word Christmas. The Christmas story is a beautiful story. That God sent a savior, his only son down to earth to save us from all the iniquity that we all face as mortals. And to make peace with our brothers and sisters. Some of us only make peace around this time of year. I wish we could keep this spirit of peace alive the whole year. H - Home. Christmas to me is a time to be home with the woman I love very much. A time for home and hearth and that warm glow inside. R - Rest. Christmas is a time for rest and regrouping. A time to recharge your batteries and make way for the new year. I - Ice skating. I live in Florida now. However I was raised in Michigan. I have fond memories of heading out to the pond for a afternoon of ice skating. S - Sleep. I get a lot of time off at Christmas time. Most of the time 12 to 14 days off in a row. I use this time to sleep in and get some rest. T - Turkey. To me and my family Christmas means Turkey with all the fixings! M - Memories. Christmas means memories of all the christmases from the past. All the memories of the people from Christmases past come flooding back to mind. It is a time to relive all the Christmases from your past. The good ones. The not so good ones. The sad ones and the happy ones! A - Art. Christmas is a great time to enjoy the arts. Whether it be a Christmas live performance, or just staying at home to enjoy Christmas shows on the television. Or perhaps driving around the neighborhood and looking at all the Christmas lights! S - Santa. Christmas means Santa! I have fond memories as a child believing in Santa claus. I remember waking up very early and heading out to the living room to find that Santa truly was here. To find the entry glass of milk and the crumbs left behind from the chocolate chip cookies left there for Santa. It is very easy as a child to believe in Santa claus. It becomes harder and harder to believe as you get older. How is it possible to believe in a man that travels all over the worlds delivering toys to good boys and girls, and expect nothing in return. You don't have to believe in Santa. You will still get your presents. But you will not receive the joy that only comes from believing. At one point in my life I stopped believing. But I sure do now! So this is what Christmas means to me. I am glad that you came home with me as I shared my very special Christmas memories. Merry Merry Christmas everyone! And a happy New Year! Peace on earth! 14. 'Twas the night before SL Christmas, when all through the house Not a prim creature was stirring, not even a talking mouse; The stockings were rezzed by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Philip soon would be there; The prim babies were nestled and linked to their beds, While visions of cracker crumbs danced in their heads; And mamma in her flexies, and I in my chaps, Had just sat on poses for a long winter's nap, When out on the mega platform there arose such a clatter, I stood from my pose to see what was the matter. Away to the window I TP'd like a flash, Derezzed the shutters and unlinked the sash. The SL moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the environmental setting of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a scripted miniature sleigh, and eight scripted tiny reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively with skill, I knew in a moment it must be St. Phil. More rapid than physical objects his coursers they came, And he IM'd, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Flasher! now, Lancer! now, Enhancer and Nixon! On, Vomit! on Stupid! on, Blender and Whitson! To the top of the prim! to the top of the wall! Now crash away! crash away! crash away all!" As dry leaves that before the Second Life wind fly, When they meet with an object, and mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of prim toys, and St. Philip too. And then, in my headphones, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little scripted hoof. As I held down the left arrow, and was turning around, Down the hollowed box chimney St. Philip came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his white flexie hair to his scripted boots, And his clothes had a texture, all tarnished with ashes and soot; A bundle of toys he had rezzed on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a berry! His droll little mouth was drawn up with an AO, And the beard of his chin was as white as the textured snow; His scripted pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke particles encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round prim belly, That shook, when I clicked it like a bowlful of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a jerk of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, as he was not a talking prim elf, And rezzed things in all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his head, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rezzed; He TP'd to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he flew out of sight, Happy SL Christmas to all, and to all a good night!! On behalf of Lagrange Point Spaceport and LadySue and I, I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, and a awesome New Year! The Bowman Family! Peace On Earth!
