  4. I have to disagree with lists being memory efficient - they aren't. Single valued variables are always more memory efficient, but more of a pain to work with (ie. a lists are easier to work with). JSON is cool, and 'may' save you some memory depending - you'll have to test. If you don't use that much data, just use lists for the easy of use. The fastest / most efficient code is that which doesn't exist. I tend to write like an old C++ programmer writing symmetric functions for every little thing first. But once everything is working I go back through and remove all the junk. So can you consolidate some functions into one function? In your final stage of optimization, remove all comments. Also replace triple spaces with a tab. Basically every extra char in your script uses a bit of memory.
  5. Live or Work in Bay City, the coolest city themed area designed by the Lindens. This rental is for a 2x prim corner lot in Bay City. Parcel is 1024sqm and 468prims. (parcels like this sell for L$100k or more, so this rental price is a great bargin) See it HERE
  6. Awesome parcel bounded by protected rivers on 2 sides. Great for business or home. 1599prims L$1826/wk Two Rivers Parcel
  7. @Czari Here's the link to the meeting (noon today -Sun 9/29) RiftRaven posted http://secondculture.pirats.fr/?p=4990 Also, the SurveyMonkey was a great idea! The checkbox controls didn't seem to work on MOAP, so instead I've added the link to my little notecard giver parcel as text in Say. FYI...the notecard giver I have made is totally full perm, and has already has a notecard inside describing the TOS issue and calling on people to TAKE ACTION. If youz want copy for your store (or where ever) just let me know. As I said, it totally full perms so you change everything is you don't like some part.
  8. I got a page not found error on the AView.tv link Chic Err..excuse me. not "page not found," but the site couldn't find your post. But an update on what I have been working this past week. I contacted a number of editors / authors at various "gaming news" websites. (some you guys would definately have heard of) I have already received a few "nibbles," so I am hopeful that soon some major game website will pick this up and then run with it. This process is slooow going since it takes a while to write each email. So if anyone else cares to join in, there are lots of "gaming news" websites out there.

    DNS Problem

You could also check for viruses, trojans, adware. Some of these sneeky pests mess with your DNS.
  10. Anyone know what kind of CPU and memory the sims run on? class 701, 801 doesn't say much :) The reason I am asking is given the new TOS (LL can now sell your uploaded works/products!), and given that SL continues to lose sims (48 just last week ~ 48*200 = $9600/mo loss of revenue right there) so i am looking into other 3D worlds like OSGrid, Kitely, etc. From my research I've found that full SL sims use one core, homesteads 3 per core, opensims 4 or more core (then one core reserved for misc processing). But one core of which chip? What kinda clock rate does that core run at? As a web developer I already have a dedicated server provider, and they have good rates. Now I am considering having them fire up another one for me, then I'll install Opensim, use one sims for me and possibly start renting sims myself. So making sure the current processors they have can run sims effectively is important. That's why i said class 701, 801, etc. is meaningless :) Well, meaningless without an association like class 801 is quad xeon running at 3ghz, or whatever. Which CPU or clockrate IS the important part

  12. "Wodwick" doesn't care about the content creators. We are not relevant. In his July interview @ AllThingsD.com he gloats about how "over half of our user base has been here 18 months or less" and having "400,000 new registrations a month." Of those 'core' residents, content creators would be just a fraction. Hey Wodwick? Just wait until those "400,000 new registrations" start logging into a world devoid of the works of us content creators! A world sterile, and barren of any creativity! What do think your resident retention rate will look like then? Just wait until the revenue from those content creators and merchants starts drying up! I know over the past month I've cut my tier by $100/mo. and other expenses (classifieds, MP 'enhancements') by ~ L$10000/wk. And I advocate everyone to cut what they can from their expenditures LL too! Anyway, if you guys get a chance check out that interview (if you haven't already). It is...entertaining. Especially considering some of the other things Rod Humble said (just weeks away from this TOS change). P.S. I have already sent an email to the person who wrote that interview (Eric Johnson) suggesting a follow-up article. But if anyone else cares to contact him-please do ( his email is at the top). The more attention that gets drawn to this issue the better
  13. Wow! Looks like some traction now on this issue as I've been busy getting a new web server up and running right. Which brings me to point out something to those saying LL should be using be using this new TOS wording to "cover their butts." As a web developer, when I go have a new dedicated web server fired up (or a VPS or shared hosting) the service provider doesn't have such a draconian TOS saying "anything I upload to server they have the right to sell / or license!" That's just ridiculous! THAT would shut down the internet almost immediately. No! LL could have totally have gone with a TOS wording such as "Hey Stupid! Don't upload stuff if you don't have permission!"...IF their intention was to decrease their IP liabilty, No! This will play out and it will ultimately be about LL's bottomline one way or another.
  14. Hi there. Sorry been busy trying to contact the last of the RL businesses in SL in my list...lol. TY Chic for posting that. Czari I will send you a 'care package' in world feel free to hand out, edit, or whatever
  15. A neighbor had an item I really liked and I was debating on whether or not to buy it. I first saw it a couple weeks ago (before I heard about the TOS change), and looked up the creators store on the marketplace. There it was-along with about 20 other products. Today out of curiosity I went back to that merchant's marketplace store-EMPTY! Interesting I think. Maybe just random, but the one item I was keeping an eye on has been removed from marketplace. Hrmm
