  1. I watched the you tube vid of the office hour (or whatever they're called these days) and it appears that you have a system folder (like the current merchant out box) and in this you have folders for each item and each item folder can have sub folders and so you can use version control by renaming your folder to the latest version - which is one step up from the current marketplace where once you've sent it, it gets a bit difficult when you want to update.

I've not used it though so I could be completely wrong.  Only time will tell.

When are the commerce team going to do the responsible thing and treat their paying customers like customers?

Why change the habits of a (second) lifetime?  We're still here so there's no incentive to get it right (or even less wrong than usual).

fwiw, I don't see a change on mine either but I have never noticed the sales numbers from XSL on my marketplace reports for any of my items.

I'm past caring, now I'm just hoping that they don't do us any more favours - I just don't have the time or inclination to waste on trying to work out what they've cocked up.

  3. Then this migration will probably fail for my listings.  When you migrated them they were corrupted because of the object name and became unavailable - LL stated there were to be no more migrations and after a couple of months of no change, with the items still unaccessable to me I finally deleted them from the unavailable list and relisted them.

So, what now?  is LL going to reinstate the listings so I can redirect them to the correct object or what?

1 error prohibited this Product from being saved

There were problems with the following fields:

    • The Xstreet product ID '504263' already exists. Please provide a unique Xstreet product ID.

I don't know what the jira number for this is so I haven't added my name to it but I've been through all my items and found the ones that don't have a redirect from xsl and display this error when I try to enter it on the new listing.

There's 37 of them and I've raised ticket # 00989942 and attached the list of xsl listings with the marketplace listing that they need to be associated with.  There's no user workaround so it will need someone on your side to update the database.

Then hopefully we can put the last of the damage caused by the less than optimal migration behind us and move on.  The amount of my time this migration has wasted is staggering.

  5. So, there's a naughty word list for the pg now..  but we don't know what it is and it takes up to 6 hrs to see if you've removed the right word.

I love LL "improvements", each one seems to be another indication that LL really don't want to stay in business because they are intent on making things as difficult as possible for the people who provide the content, that attracts the general punter, to make an effort.

Some days I think that the only difference between LL and muggers is that at least muggers are honest about their intentions.

  6. I don't know, but I'm aiming to find out.  I grabbed rather a lot of keywords and set some of them up.  I reason that this is such a stupid idea that it would be interesting to see the result.

I can honestly say it's done me no good in the couple of days it's been up but I'm all for doing a bit of branding whilst it lasts...  and considering just how many months one of my shops was completely out of search - thanks to LL "improvements" I don't feel bad if there is a benefit to be had.
