  1. The people who think of SL as a game are LESS likely to ask this stuff. If you're in here as a game experience, you don't want that messed up by RL junk. The people. who. ask me! one. or tWo word? questions: or, statements! rEalLy... Get, to. bE Annoying... Like... put a little more into there than Hi sex? where live? ur name? It's been a while... but I used to get drilled with questions a lot too. Not as much the darker in tone I made the skin of avatar... but it still happens. Sometimes I might actually be looking for some naughty play time in SL... and these blokes are a MAJOR turn off... (it's one benefit of the AFK places, I don't have to read their horrid comments and interrogations...)
  2. Maybe we can get the alts to pay for this new wall too? I mean seriously... Pointless security measures that are directed at the wrong target and do nothing to address real issues are never a good idea.
  3. Someone has never used SL. I've actually been shopping for a Windows system after a decade as a Mac user. My only complaint with Windows these days is that I don't know the keybinds well... But I rather like Windows 10. I run Windows 10 on my Mac... and it performs better and faster than running Mac's OSX on that same machine... ******************************** My first several questions: 1. We hear last names are coming back, you you give us some details for the rollout of that? Will we be able to freely make a lastname or will we be given a pre-made list? 2. Will LSL ever support arrays? 3. Will LSL ever support reporting avatar complexity? The current function actually returns the now obsolete ARC score. With event sims now starting to restrict access based on the results of this function - it would be useful if the function actually returned a proper value. Or failing that - have it return null so it cannot be used to do automated access monitoring. 4. Can we get 'redelivery' for anything 'copy' built into Marketplace? 5. Some of the old mainland continents have places where land just 'ends in a void' - can we get sailable water placed around all of the continents to close up these gaps? 6. Currently an object scripted as a 'vehicle' has it's scripts shut off and essentially 'breaks' when it hits a ban line - but will bounce off of a prim harmlessly. Can we get this "fixed" so that it will just bounce off of a banline as if that banline was a prim? 7. This might be a loaded grenade - but could we do something about the placement of M and G sims when side by side? There are places on old mainland where graphic adult art has been placed at the sim border of an M sim to view into the neighboring G land. It's not realistic to expect sims to have their rating changed to avoid side by side 'this late into land ownership' - but perhaps making it so that you cannot see objects on an M or A sim when standing on a G sim would help?
  4. And here is the older pre-bento dragon that I have seen a lot: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Furry-Dragon-BlackOrange/5317027 Which looks better inworld than in that promo pic... Spend a few days in some popular furry joints and between all the people on naked wolf avatars or kenemo gender-bends... you will eventually see some of these really good dragon mods, and probably many not so good mods too... and then be able to find one that will look good outside of the furry scene.
  5. So here's the current trend in mods. They start with this cartoony bento 'snake' furry: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Orange-Nova-Snokra-Snake/13541472 But with mods they get to this: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Stormborn-Thunderhead/13917319 And several other variations with head replacements, bento wings, tail mods, and so on. Example head replacements: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Visual-Magick-Snokra-Elder-Dragon-Head-DEMO/13867547 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/MOR-snokra-snake-DRAGON-HEAD-REPLACEMENT/13663702 Better claws: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Visual-Magick-Snokra-Snake-Elder-Dragon-Clawed-Limbs/13867883 Baser mods that would likely need to use textures from other mods: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TTD-Legendary-Dragon-Snokra-Pack/13875185 What you have here... is a whole community of "build your own dragon" modders that all have started with the cartoony Snokra Bento snake furry - but because that furry was, as nearly all furries are, copy/mod - the community turned it into an endless variety of bento dragons. Some cartoony, some not. Lots of shopping to do to find the exact right mod kit to get the look in your mind's eye.
  6. You're basically looking for a dragon furry. I have seen a good one from DSD I think, but pre-bento. I have also seen several newer bento ones. But you might just need to change your marketplace search criteria to look for various forms of bento furry instead of dragon. I think the ones I have seen were mod-kits of other reptilian furries.
  7. Ah... that explains a lot. I missed seeing that. Oops... Now I gotta think of some advice the rest of you haven't covered yet... gonna have to come back here in a bit... Also maybe I should buy the sims and mess around. Looks a lot better than the last time I looked, which was Sims 2...
  8. Dude... I think we need help from you. Those don't look like the results of a newbie... You're doing great thus far. I can't tell if that is either the best job I have ever seen with a system head, or if you have a mesh head on. But either way it's great. So... All I can say is to DEMO a lot of options... and make sure you're watching both avatar complexity and script usage. I'm not too fluent on male brands so specifics escape me... but I really think you've got about 110% of what you need already covered. If that is a system head - note that many mesh heads are highly stylized. You will see a dramatically different face when you put it on, and have to mess with shape dials a lot to get your own look (but improved) back. - To do this myself I logged in twice at the same time to SL. once on myself and once on an alt. I put on the same free skin on both... and sat them on two copies of the same pose stand in a neutral pose, side by side... then I put on my new mesh head... and used my alt wearing my shape as a reference. To get... not the same look... but something that still felt like "me". It can be seriously laggy to log into Sl twice... but worth doing every rare now and then for something like that...
  9. For me this is the prequel to the other video, about 'getting out of the bad life' and finding a better path. This song has long felt like it was telling my story to me: (EDIT: Found a higher resolution version). The pixilation in this video is because the mere sight of a gun in Jamaica is considered 'extreme adult graphic content'. Unlike in the USA where we 'pleasure ourselves' to the sight of real life black people being murdered by cops on TV news... but ban a major black pop singer from TV when a white boy (who suffers no consequences) pulls down her top to expose a nipple during a halftime NFL performance... in other countries 'violence' is considered what is graphic... Sadly Jamaica suffers from extreme gun violence ever since it's own presidential politicians (two white Jamaicans of different parties) armed rival gangs in the 1960s during election violence... - followed by one of them later letting the CIA into the country in the 1980s to fight ganja farmers during the "drug war"... that further militarized the gangs in response... (for a period of a few decades the same two guys traded places in the seat of power in Jamaica - both descendants of the former plantation owner class of English colonists... and while they were there they picked rival factions of the underclass and armed them, often with military grade guns, then set them loose into the other side's bases. This is why Jamaica now has such extreme laws against guns. Where mere possession can get multi-decade sentences for a first time offense)...
  10. This one feels autobiographical in a sense. I was born and raised in poverty. I used to steal food to survive. Then I found myself, pushed myself up, and now I'm on the border of the 1%. Damian Marley takes his son to his roots, showing where they boy's father, Robert Nesta (Bob), grew up and became a star. If you read one of the biographies of Bob Marley - you will get to a point early in the book where his own white father abandons his mother and takes up with a mistress. Bob's white father married his mistress without divorcing his first wife, Bob's mother. There was a court battle over that - and the judge threw the 'ghetto trash black woman' out of court... Bob was later taken by his father and made a servant in the new house - basically enslaved for a time... But the English Marleys... they've amounted to nothing. Working class English now. They rejected that ghetto boy as worthless, and he instead built a powerful family based on spreading a spiritual message around the world through popular music. In my own life... there was even a moment where my stepfather's sister asked him to not bring me around - she didn't want a mongrel child in her home (she later got a DNA test that slapped her back on that one... she's a quarter Native American. Much to her chagrin one of her other brothers is a civil right's lawyer). Many people cast me out or pushed me down. Held me down even. But I got out from under them and rose up. And I keep strong to the family who were not blinded by hate. (This song is a little too 'pop' for me. Damian is more 'pop music' than Stephen or Kymani. Damian is sort of reggae/hip-hop Pop music, while Ziggy has gone nearly full pop-music but also now does children's music. Kymani is more spiritual hip hop, and Stephan - who needs to put out more stuff, comes across as deeply soulful and political rastafarian in his music. Another brother Julian also has some music - but I've only heard a title or two of his and don't know him so well. The last brother Rohan is an 'American Football' player -but in Canada not NFL- turned coffee producer).
  11. Oh... I see I had a late night typo... "as that already comes with bento hands" is what I should have typed. I am thinking that... when you wear slink hands on a belleza, you need to use 'slink fit'. That same thing would likely be needed if wearing maitreya hands. I assume you did this though. Curious also... you should have been able to use the new 'targetted applier' system of Belleza to wear a tattoo in a specific spot. I don't use any tattoos so I'd have to go make some test ones to experiment with that...
  12. I'm very confused on why someone would wear Maitreya hands when using the Belleza body - as that already had Maitreya hands. I have an alt somewhere that has both bodies so I'll have to check this. Given that Maitreya added Bento support basically the day it went live, and Belleza took a year - I'm inclined to flip which order the blame lies. But more testing will show. I will have to wear Maireya hands on the SalinA body as well to see what hapens (that's another bento body).
  13. Am I understanding this rightly or wrongly? Your first post said this was with Maitreya hands, but your last post says the issue is with Belleza and Maitreya is fine. and I see you're using a Vista AO. - All that said, none of that should matter. It should work for any combination there... Is this now just happening when you go full 100% belleza? - in which case I'm curious to know your exact setup, animations, and so on. I want to see if I can replicate it. If I can... I'm going to have to poke somebody on the Belleza team about it. (I'm brainstorming an in-depth review of the update also, so any problems are something I'd like to cover - and since it's the only body I am willing to use outside of 'oddball testing' - if there's a problem I'm highly motivated to hassle them to fix it... ). I have long used animations from one source on bodies, heads, and so on of other sources. Usually without issue. Places I have seen issue have all been with 'new attachments' that didn't exist in the system body. Tails, wings, tongues (a number of lick lipping animations will poke through the mouth one 'this head' if made for 'that head').
  14. Properly made animations from any source should work on any hand. I use slink female animations on a belleza male - and they work just fine. I also use a bento AO (Body Language) and it works just fine. I'm inclined to believe she has one bad animation n there somewhere and everytime it loads in it messes things up. Just have to find out what animation exactly it is... and get rid of it. I doubt this could be it... but are your hands too small? Your hands should be as long as: https://catnapkitty.wordpress.com/2011/06/15/getting-good-body-proportions-in-second-life/ They look a little small in the picture. I know plenty of other body parts that animate or move can deform if the proportions are too far from 'normal' on several brands of body. But I doubt this is your issue or you'd see it on multiple animations. The screenshot has your fingers not only shunted off to the side a little, but also shortened - and that suggests more that you have a deformer issue going on somewhere. Which is exactly what I'd expect from a bad animation as described earlier in the thread. (note that my own screenshot above is YEARS old... and reflects a system hand. The measurement advice is correct... but that screenshot I am using is bad... makes me realize I need to update that blog of mine for a modern looking SL...)
  15. I thought the target applier system of it's new HUD was specifically designed to let you do this. I don't use any appliers so I don't have the ability to test that, but it seemed to be what they were showing in the video.
  16. Thus far, every furry griefer I have encountered was not an actual furry - but a general griefer that put on a furry avatar when 'going to town' but didn't otherwise exist within the furry community. One easy tell on this angle is they're nearly always on free furry avatars, Since they're not actual furries, they have no interest in getting an avatar that can be highly customized or even costs more than 0L... In essence, they tend to view the very act of being a furry as a part of the griefing itself... Sort of like seeing a Colonizer in blackface, or the SL version: the 'gangsta avatar' - they think looking 'black' by itself is enough to terrify people or otherwise show absurdity... So called furry griefers are not furries... they are griefers that have so much disrespect for furries that they think the mere sight of a furry is by itself a part of the 'act' of "messing things up".
  17. Got the update. Seems really good so far. Will be trying to break it in preparation for a review. Biggest complaint is that we lost the 'lite' version. Biggest perk is the materials adjustments are a lot more detailed now. Bento was expected, and works as generally expected. Hands animate very well - but this wasn't a surprise so no thoughts on it yet.
  18. Old database setup most likely Technically an object package should just be a pointer to a collection of other entries in the database, and a simple query should be able to read that list... But apparently they didn't set it up that way at the time. Maybe it's a pointer to a compressed entry - and that entry has to be uncompressed to read it. And perhaps this uncompression is also done on rezzing... but not usually otherwise. That's just a guess though. It is what it is. There are a LOT of choices in SL that make sense when you consider the bandwidth and higher storage costs of the last 1990s when it was in development rather than today. Those decisions today may still make the cost of storage cheaper in terms of how many hard drives it takes... but then longer as it is extraneous processing and leads to clunkier development cycles down the road (LSL for example, is littered with choices in the language structure that make it inefficient but probably saved a few KB's back when that mattered). Just pick a sandbox that's empty, go to the middle, rez a prim, sit on it, move it to 3000m up so you have nobody else's clutter in your view... open build, THEN rez... and take back the things you want.
  19. I figured as much on both counts. The sim in question gives a notecard about 'looking appropriate and native' or something... but what you get is anything but... In my review of the place I was actually kind to it. The Amazon is under such extreme threat that ANYTHING that gets people to want it to still be around is useful... RL... yeah... I've got my own tales, and people who didn't make it... I never learned how to 'dial it down', and I slip up in trying to 'code talk' and end up speaking truth way too easily.
  20. Some Colonizer doesn't understand the difference between the statistics as a whole and isolated rare examples. We've got DNA proof now to show what the reality really is at a statistical level.
  21. This is what a woman in 'full Incan regalia' actually looks like. I highly suspect I will NEVER encounter anyone looking like this in that Amazon sim. This is Hilaria Supa; the second of 2 Quechua women in the Peruvian Congress, who insisted on taking her oath of office in Quechua and not Spanish. The Peruvian Congress has treated both of these women as if they were a national shame, for daring to dress and speak 'native' in a country that only a decade or two ago was still force sterilizing the native people (Under the Japanese president - I do not know if that policy ended after him). I'm very bad at 'chalking up' racist conduct. I've been a fighter all my life and I have never stood for any white person getting their privilege over me. THAT causes me no end of trouble in SL, as SL's users are basically surrounded in an extreme bubble of white privilege... But I'm fine with that. I'd rather be bloodied in a fight than peacefully without my self respect. Though I also know that not everyone is conditioned to fight 24/7... Decked out for the tourists it looks, but here are what REAL Mountain Amazons (Quechua) look like: Of course the 'Amazon' sim is about the lowlands rather than my grandmother's people. But even there, you will NOT find naked blond women... Both highland and lowland Amazonian people have become something of a 'living zoo' in Peru and Brazil, so when googling what we look like, you need to think twice about whether or not that image was staged for a 'show / exhibit'. We're surrounded by multiple nations that have near to fully genocidal views of their native people... And many folks get by the same way Africans in Europe had to as recently as the 1950s: living in zoos or becoming 'tourist spots'... There's also at least one if not more 'Japanese Porn' companies that make movies about 'women from Japan' going to the Jungles of Africa or Jungles of the Amazon to run around naked and have sex with people dressed up to pretend to be locals... - So don't just trust those google images...
  22. Interesting. Strange though. I am at a loss as to the seller's motivations on the differences.
  23. Hmmm... are they being sold by the same person? Have you just found some copy-theft? Or perhaps the permissions differ between them? That screenshot implies the inworld one is copy. That alone would explain the price difference if it is the case. Or did somebody just goof on pricing.
  24. As a mixed person, I actually like that there is variety. I have friends across so many different cultural lines in RL, and it is very engaging and 'beautiful' to see different perspectives and different ways people live. Especially as I remember this variety being nearly violently denied to me when I was a young child. What makes me love the region I live in now so much is when I see people who are clearly friends of very different races walking around the streets of my city, talking to each other, and being different yet happy together at the same time. Just a few days ago I was 'out in the middle of the day' enjoying the site of three young men, maybe late high school or just after, walking down the street. White, Asian, and Black. talking like friends and eating lunch. When I was a child to preteen - that was a likely violent situation. But here, I see that kind of mix everyday.
  25. I keep contemplating buying that one. I have seen good results with it for both African looks and Asian looks... It would seem to respond well to the dials.
