No, apparently not. It fits older heads (like Catwa Freya and Catya) much better than the new generation of heads.

I suspect the maker of ERIKA might not have 'access privileges' to the specs of the new neck system. Perhaps that is a system that is privately shared around between a couple of brands.

It might be a good idea for people to send the maker of ERIKA and / or the maker of heads like Lelutka and Catwa some notecards asking about these topics. As in, ask Catwa and Lelutka if they support ERIKA, as a way to get the ball rolling here. ;)

I know the CSR of at least one of these brands is active in this forum - who was that again?

  2. Got a notecard a bit ago asking people to write reviews.

I wrote one with my alt, so I don't know what I'd say in a second review unless I did a more detailed review on my "mostly dead" blog...

But I'm kinda hoping to see the 1.4 patch first in the hopes I can review it after one more round of fixes.

EDIT: left one on the Marketplace page anyway...

    It isn't always about performance.

Yes I am aware the muscle cars are all about male-anatomy measuring contests. But even there the EVs are coming for them - it's why some drag racing venues have been banning EVs - because it makes their bits look small when those EVs out race them while looking cooler and having Ninjutsu silence.

Tesla's response to jealous muscle cars not wanting them on their drag racing strips? Fart mode - letting the Tesla also make fart noises, which is all that engine sound really is after all. ;)

There's a LOT of EVs coming. I think the 'Mustang' is going EV too. There's everything from cars that look pretty darn boring, to cars that look like muscle cars but don't fart (unless you want them to...), to cars like the 1000-mile range Aptera that look like something out of the Jetsons in their 'production' rather than concept design.

trucks, SUVs, and muscle cars that use fossil fuels are all getting replaced over the next decade with EVs. For those entries where the EVs are already present, like SUVs, sales of the mid-high end gas powered ones are starting to take a hit, and resale values are tanking (X-series BMW crossovers and SUVs for example - the consumers of these are now trying to get Y's and X's).

Only reason the kinds of cars @Jackson Redstar noted are still the top sellers is because production of their replacements hasn't happened to a large enough scale yet. Not because consumers prefer them. Interest in both the Cybertruck and the Ford 150 EV both speak to this, and the rapid rise of sales of the Model-Y speak to it for crossover SUVs (Tesla literally cannot make them fast enough to meet demand). VW, GM, and others are all jumping in on this because none of them wants to be the one left out of the transition.

I AM SO TEMPTED! The body looks amazing...but the lack of clothing options really bother me. It's why I chose maitreya over legacy in the first place : (

The body itself comes with a large amount of premade outfits to get you started, and there's a wall of supporting third party makers. Granted it's very new so the list there is small as yet, but hopefully with grow soon.

Given the current sale, it's a decent thing to pick up just to keep an eye on for now, and model around a few times to spark interest in the clothing maker community. ;)

it is funny though - lawmakers always creating legislation to "save" somethin  like energy, fuels, etc

And what is the best selling vehicles in the USA? Large trucks and SUVs and high horsepower 'muscle cars' lol

That too will soon end. More and more jurisdictions both within and without the USA are setting dates after which fossil fuel vehicles will no longer be allowed to be sold. Which is a good thing.

As a result auto makers are all now trying to rapidly catch up to Tesla. And this includes Ford with their upcoming EV Trucks that hope to compete with the Cybertruck.

On looks, they may win that competition, though in the specs the Cybertruck is superior and cannot be beat until another maker also adopts it's weird design (that makes the body so strong, allowing it to so efficiently handle the mass it can handle). I suspect the people buying 'work trucks' for construction will flock to the Cybertruck, while the Suburbanites will get the Ford EV. In fact, most of the reservations for the Cybertruck came from red-states and companies - because the specs are just too good if you've got a farm or a construction business and those folks don't care if the vehicle looks like a metal box.

As for muscle cars, just like high end SUVs, they've already been beat out in the specs by moderate EVs. A simple Chevy Bolt low end EV can out perform most muscle cars, and the Tesla Model 3 outperforms them all. While the Models Y and X are eating into the SUV market for high end consumers. As soon as a few more lower cost entries hit the market it's game over (Note that a Tesla Model 3 costs about the same as a Toyota Corolla after 5 years of ownership - so it's already a cheap car, you just pay most of the cost upfront instead of over time with gas / tune-ups / maintenance, and eventually more folks will realize this. Especially as it also means any car cheaper than a Model 3 is actually really cheap compared to a gas car).

Part 2 of debunking the click bait:

Notice how the first monitor he tests is drawing 14watts of power when in SLEEP mode... ie: when the user thinks they've turned it off, it's still drawing a LOT of power that goes into your electricity bill.

    - That's what this is targeting from a consumer POV...

Notice how the second monitor in the same situation draws 0 watts.

Which of those is the smarter buy now, if you're looking at your utility bill and wondering why it's so high?

He then goes into a long investigation to figure out why this is happening... that I am still watching. ;)

But he's coming to the opinion that gsync can't meet the regulation due to how it currently works.

    ...

    ...

That said I recall some of the background motivation for this law was in fact about how so many things in the household when turned "off" actually don't turn off - and keep drawing power. This has been causing people's energy usage to be notably more than they would have expected it to be. So the state is trying to force manufacturers to actually power off devices when powered off... that said, if I recall this debate from almost a decade ago - the big offender was TV screens, not computers. But maybe that's since changed.

It appears there are still some minor flaws in the neck. The body just came out and got 3 rapid patches last week - so I am hopeful it will keep getting patches until the few problems I've noted in the thread here get resolved.

So far every skin I have tried.

From current brands like It Girls and Glam Affair to brands that left SL a decade ago and more. I've yet to not find the issue.

Here is that hip seam again, this time using one of the skins that came with the body itself:

    3b92121790f20f9506b7ffc5fc5a7d7f.png

Note also how the belly button is painted differently than where it is on the mesh.

So in a 1.4 - hopefully these 2 things will be addressed, alongside the issue of the HD female bits being un-tintable and the Lelutka neck seam (on an alt, I updated lelutka today and the seam issue was still there, but on this screenshot I'm wearing the pre-update version of lelutka).

So much for this body is perfect, so I hope those last few things can get pushed over the line and make this one my main choice.

    50% off this weekend only

I hope this drives up a LOT of sales.

The more people that use this body, the less laggy SL will get, AND the more likely it will get third party support, AND the more likely the few issues I found will get patched. :D

For a 'patch 1.3' the body is in great shape, and has the potential to be 'the next big thing' - but so far this forum thread is the only place I've seen any mention of it. It also has the potential to go as obscure as 'Lena Lush' and 'SalinA' did, if bloggers and events and clothing makers don't get involved. Right now is that 'critical time' for it to succeed or fail...

And because the design is 'doing all the right things' I'm hoping it does well.

EDIT: With that sale, I'm presently buying copies for the alts. ;)

I'm interested to know if anyone has resolved this. Is there a fix for the neck seam with heads other than the one it comes with? I tried the neck fixer in the HUD with poor results.

I have found I see it on skins and not as much on others. They had a fix for it in one patch but it looks like it will just need another patch to be perfected.

I like the idea of the slimmer body too - it's a Maitreya fit on half the polygon count. So it's a way to lower your lag / the lag you cause to others around you. Sadly since it's a Maitreya fit the breasts at size 100 are still "teenager sized"... and the breast addon it comes with has a silly unrealistic shape... like not even Silicon boobs make that shape...

Oh hells yes, I can keep my favorite skin then as the body is made for Kupra. Kalhene here I come!

I tested with demos of skins made for Kupra. So make sure to test your skin on a demo of the body before being sure of whether or not I was right.

Places to look very closely would be around the right nipple, the belly button (view from the side to see if your skin is painted in the same place as the indentation), the toes, around the bottom of the foot where the top and bottom meet, the neck to head connection, and on the upper left front hit where the top and bottom skin textures meet.

    - These seem to be the common places to find an issue.

If you're really unlucky, some skins paint the lower female anatomy super high up, and it will show above the model's actual anatomy. This problem is more common in older skins though. Since the era of mesh even the skin makers who have no idea where a woman's parts are, have managed to mostly find them... ;)

  12. Went around trying out skins made for different other mesh bodies and so far, skins made for Kupra seem to fit best - there's still a deformation on the foot, but it's on the bottom of the foot.

Skins made for Belleza and Maitreya will have the belly button off vertically, one nipple off, and painting on the top of the toes. Skins made for Legacy and Slink will have painting on the top of the toes.

So far no one seems to be making skin specifically for this body - that I have found yet.

Hopefully this list will grow soon, and I can make more use of this body beyond an alt that usually just stands around in a skybox now that it's no longer holding a linden home for me:
    a872048468f6d492cd4fef82b4aa3590.jpg

    - Those first 4 applier kits are free and need no application. That the 5th one does need an application is going to slow things down...

Best to avoid some forms of "journalism"...

Being a Californian... I get a dozen articles a day telling me how cops are going to murder everyone, white people are on a rampage again, Karen is coming for me, conservatives are going to force me to eat meat, all folks of color are being sent to prison camps over in Texas, and so on...

... And I'm smart enough to know not to click on that bait (most of the time, they get me now and then too... some of that bait is VERY clicky... ;) )

I suggest the folks on the other side of the line would do well to ALSO not click on the bait they get, so we can get past all these silly attempts to make us afraid of each other...

  15. When I do this with a 'pre mesh era' skin - one I used to wear 10 years ago, I see that the belly button on this mesh is NOT in the wrong spot. Rather skins from BOTH Maitreya AND Belleza are in the wrong spot.

Here is a skin from 10 years ago:

    acdc1ba9c08cbce7bd3809b6f703bba5.png

The belly button is in the right place. The seam around the waist is still there but on this lower rez skin it's harder to see - yet you can see it if you know where to look. On modern skins that are 1024x1024 textures it's one of those "once you see it you cannot unsee it" things.

    - If you cannot see the seam in the image above, zoom it out. The forums make the image a little smaller and so it's harder to see. In this particular OLD skin the skin was just a random noise pattern over brown - so the seam is harder to spot, but it is there.

In other skins that are higher resolution or where there is 'art' in the transition between upper and lower torso you get a clear 'cut line' where they meet.

If you STILL can't spot it, it's just above where I put a line here:

    21c9c03737e107fc8a708df218bf8d75.png

  16. Managed this shape thus far:

    dc1f6673f2d14d4c963e16279c1e962f.png5c26e770e4e2486976440117f756bee3.png

    fc8824b033eaea6b688aad5421bff02d.png

    Height: 9

    Body Thick: 0

    Fat: 0

    Torso Muscle: 39

    Neck Thick: 38

    Neck Length: 28

    Shoulders: 18

    Breast Size: 100

    Buoyancy: 15

    B. Cleavage: 3

    Arm Length: 100

    Hand Size: 13

    Torso Length: 65

    Love Handles: 0

    Belly Size: 0

    Leg Muscle: 46

    Leg Length: 70

    Hip Width: 32

    Hip Length: 31

    Butt Size: 21

    Saddle Bags: 31

    Knee Angle: 55

Foot Size: 26 (has no impact)

    - Bolded the sliders that seemed most important for dialing to a 'closer to normal' body shape.

The torso lacks a curve - from the top of the waist on up is a mostly straight line. By contrast in Belleza Freya this is a slightly inward curve. In Erika this 'straight line' is as 'concave' as it can go, anything up from here on 'Love Handles' starts to add an outward curve.

I was thinking about you, @Pussycat Catnap"Oh, she will like this body because it is so low in vertices and triangles".😃

And I know you don't like Maitreya breasts, the only other (human) body that's reasonably low lag.

I am sure this body need special rigged piercings and harnesses.

I hope it will succeed because Belleza has not updated in years and their Freya has too high amount of vertices and triangles. Plus they have not got the improved neck.

I was hoping this could replace Freya as a curvy body for those who find Kupra unrealistic. Even if my avatar is skinny and don't need this, I welcome another well made body because we need more diversity.

It does have a few concerns but seems to be going in the right direction.

There's a misalignment between the upper torso and lower body UV maps that causes you to see a seam in your hip on the front left if you have detail or a dark enough skin there. It has a slightly different UV Map from Maitreya (this might be that Maitreya's UV maps is slightly out of alignment from the system UV Map - not sure), so what 'mesh body skins' are the best fit for it I don't know as yet.

The 'HD anatomy' doesn't have options to change the skin tone so doesn't match if you're skin isn't pale.

    - and because this anatomy is build in and 'opens' based on leg position, I'm not sure if it is 'ready for use' for 'adult animations'. Would have to test that... ;)

    - but these are all 'early release' style issues.

I couldn't get some parts of the body to be exactly as thin as I wanted, but other parts were much better than I could have hoped - so I could see this one growing on me.

It's also very low script, so that was another nice discovery. I hope it stays that way - the more that HUD gets advanced the more they might want to slap on random scripts and 'HD junk' that just messes up all the nice aspects like what happened with Catwa and Lelutka heads...

This body is definitely on my 'watch list' and I got it for an alt already. Thankfully my one alt with very pale skin so the seam at the hip is not so easy to spot.

I demo'd the brand's other mesh body - that is a skinny body more like Maitreya / Legacy / etc:

    https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Kalhene-ANALEXA-BENTO-fitted-mesh-bodyHead-v41/19973384

    - and that body is also super low lag and has the right design philosophy. Sadly the market on skinny bodies is crowded and takes some luck for a new body to break in like Legacy did - because this body is probably the absolute best made 'skinny body' out there but unless people start promoting it, it will go nowhere.

Here you can see the seam along the upper waist, and how the Belly Button's mesh is above where skins that follow the UV map place it:

Stop using LGBT(QI+) keywords when you not allow all that fit that description on your sim...Otherwise...your use of LGBT(QI+) keywords are misleading,  confusing and disrespectful.

    Yeah...

I've been seeing this for years with anything related to indigenous people. Whole regions and references to 'Amazons' or Inca etc that have nothing to do with us - but are instead Gor or sex-venues. Essentially done to an offensive level.

People also keyword stuff all the time. There was a period some years back where every region in SL had the word 'neko' in it. This making it impossible to find anything actually neko related. That's gone now, but other keyword spam takes it place...

  19. Haven't been around here in a few months.

Yesterday I tossed back 3 of my 4 linden homes, and took 2 accounts to basic (the third will go basic soon, but I was a little slow in doing this so it's still premium for the next quarter). This all left me an odd tier round off again, so I went looking around the map at parcels to see if I wanted to grab something.

In so doing I noticed the prices in Zindra seem about double what they were last year, and in Horizons (north of Zindra), 3-5 times higher. Looking around mainland, I noticed the same thing could be said of Bay City and the two themed areas near it. A brief glance around other parts of mainland and it seems like any land that is by water or road is much higher than it was last year, and even bad land appears to be trending up.

Did something happen? Has the pandemic resulted in a lot more buyers? Or is this just wishful thinking on the part of land traders? Or am I seeing something that isn't there and I just need to look elsewhere to see that SL land is still 'dirt cheap'?

Visually this looks like it's meeting the same need Kupra was - but without looking like a parody of a human body. As in I can make 'normal' shapes with this.

And given how extremely low lag it is, it almost looks like it was made by a furry maker - and for this alone I want this body to succeed.

ETA.   What the heck, I'll grab it anyway and hope for the best.

Since I'm always nude it's not a bad choice even if nobody supports it...

BUT, I would still like to be able to wear jewelry, piercings, harnesses, boots/shoes, and "stuff".

Still, I was surprised to find that my "Maitreya specific" BOM skin seems to fit without seams.

I do need more support for the intimate anatomy... it's a rare body in that it comes with that built in, but I need animation support... The big problem with slink male was that it came with this built in but was fixed - no animation or sizing ability. This appears to be bento for both male and female, so hopefully it's "useable" as well.

  22. What's the primary difference between this body and the creator's other new body, Analexa?

    - any theories on which is more likely to get third party support?

(Ok, they look radically different - so this should be seen as more of a question of which would be smarter to buy for the third party support...)

    Too pear shaped for me.

Will see if I can fix that with a demo.

And of course will have to examine their scripts and polygon count...

    53,383 vertices, 97,368 triangles

    - I may have to buy this on that basis alone.

Maitreya is 101,382 vertices and 176,369 triangles.

So this body is roughly half as laggy as Maitreya. And the breasts can go decently large. If I can manage to get an hourglass curvy look out of it, I will go for it - and as I type this I am "almost" there, but the demo has no clothing so I can't post my results here...
