  1. Not quite what I had in mind, TDD, but . . . thank you?
  2. My second musical present will also seem obvious. This one (/me shakes the box before handing it over) is for @Cindy Evanier. Cindy, this is rather short: it's more a stocking stuffer than a full present. But you'll agree it stuffs the stocking very well, I think, whatever you may think of Ozzie.
  3. This first one is to @Madelaine McMasters. It's significance will be obvious to pretty much anyone who's been close enough to her to sniff the sulfur. I especially like this choice of present for Maddy because she'll absolutely hate this song. I can almost hear her saying "What the hell is wrong with you!:" Nothing at all, Maddy. Enjoy the song: it's a good one!
  4. So, I know we have a "What are you listening to" thread, but I thought it would be nice if we had a place where we could "gift" songs to other forumites. The idea is to choose a song / video that seems particularly appropriate to someone else, and "give" it to them by posting it here. It can be funny or serious, but think of it as a way to show one of your fellow forum dwellers that you know them and think of them, and like them enough to give them a present -- through music! One note: if you're going to participate in this thread, please be kind. Resist the temptation to choose a song that satirizes or belittles someone here: it would be nice to keep this thread positive, and community-building, rather than divisive. I'll start with a couple.
  5. It seems very rare that we get an official response in Forum Feedback. It's happened occasionally, but mostly it seems to be a place for us to gripe and whine. In other words, pretty indistinguishable from the rest of the forum.
  6. Today I received Christmas presents from among others (more pics coming!) @Saskia Riekoand @BelindaN. From Belinda, a stunning fatpack of boots with a million options and a kazillion colours, and from Saskia, three different sets of sandal heels, also with a kazillion colours. Basically, I'm set for footwear for the year. I also did some Christmas shopping, and naturally had to change outfits between each store, if only to show off my new heels and boots. Oh, and I drank a lot of coffee today, to keep me going. A LOT of coffee.
  7. Well, that's dumb. And pretty rudimentary. It doesn't look as though they've removed the option, because it still suggests what appears to be a Boolean search. It looks instead like it's broken.
  8. I had no idea you could do this. Am I permitted to be retroactively peeved? I haven't checked the thread rules yet.
  9. Trivial Pet Peeve. Not being able to get into the Linden Snowball fight. @Madelaine McMasters and I tried to get in but it was too full. Now I'll never get to pelt my favourite forum mods with snowballs! Don't they know who I am? That I'm SPEEEEEEEEEECIAL???? 😡
  10. Lyssa, have I ever told you how much I like you? 😄
  11. I am thankful and grateful that my peeves are, at the moment anyway, trivial ones. I am, however, more generally peeved that life can make things so difficult and so miserable for people, like Daf and others here, who deserve so much better. Actually, we all deserve better. There's my peeve.
  12. Well, I was sort of joking about the "feminist tools" thing, really. The world is full of women who are apparently very capable of opening jars. I just appear not to be one of them. Some jars anyway. I'm terribly sorry, Kali, for your arthritis. The REAL value of tools is, as you say, to improve the quality of our lives, whether it is that we have smallish hands, or physical ailments. I'm glad, or hopeful, that you've found some to improve yours. It's amazing how much the apparently little things can cast a shadow: it's nice if they, at least, can be taken care of somewhat.
  13. Nice. Just when I was saying to someone how unusually pleasant and fun the GD seemed today.
  14. Says the woman whose top wish list item is an economy sized canister of napalm.
  15. It's always more thoughtful when you make it yourself. Hand-crafted fallen panties, on the way! I hope there is room for them on your fridge door. I used crayons and happy stickers.
  16. We're very good friends, but not quite at the strippable lingerie stage of intimacy yet.
  17. Also, people who have stupid things on their wish list. It's like, what? I"m not going to buy you that! I really don't want you thinking of me fondly every time you pull out that set of mesh panties that are down around your ankles!
  18. Peeve. Close friends whose style you know pretty well, but you can't be sure what they already own, and they DON'T HAVE A WISH LIST. /me glares at @Eva Knoller Yes, that's right. I'm naming and shaming!
  19. You can have my poor, frail, but very interesting and much used human body when you pry it from my dead, cold . . . um . . . body. I'll pass on the singularity, thanks. I'm on the right side of the computer screen, so far as I'm concerned!
  20. Richard: Would you like me to . . . Scylla: Yes. Richard: Ok, how about I also . . . Scylla: Well, duh. Richard: And then yo . . . Scylla: Already doing it.
  21. Making love to someone you really care about?
  22. i'd do him. If that weren't weirdly incestuous. Or something.
  23. My male alt, Richard, using the free Alain head. And, mostly, other freebie items to which I was directed by Skell's superb blog post on putting together a free or low cost male mesh avatar. (The hair, however, is Dura.) He doesn't look too young for to me. Richard's a first class ass***e. But I think he's kinda hot.
  24. Oh, I do. And I'm sorry it's been such an awful year.
