I was thinking about this as an issue and was trying to google up to see if the anti virus is causing issues. Edge for downloads started saying firestorm is not frequently downloaded and didn't trust it but there was a way to send in a report as a trusted file. People may want to do that and if enough do it edge will stop thinking it is a sus app.

I am not sure what the problem is either but both viewers will have issues of not running. I can get it to work fine but if my alt is in proximity with my main is when it seems to go weird. The only solution other than reinstall is to delete the settings folder. I use to have both the SL firestorm and OS grid fire storm installed but I ran into those issues and just have the OS grid and regular LL viewer installed. But my post was more about the firestorm installer not even running for the latest that was released recently. You click it and the wheel spins then nothing. It is two separate issues I am having. I have a couple odd things going on with my computer so it might be related. I was just trying to confirm first if anyone else is having issues.

I use the OS Grid of Firestorm for running my alts in and for OS Grid usage and use the official viewer for my main avatar. I was trying to upgrade to the latest version of Firestorm and the installer wouldn't even run. I tried downloading with both Edge and firefox with the same result. I am afraid to try a clean install if the installer isn't even running. Anyone else having this issue or know of a solution? PS: I also use both because both viewers are unstable for multiple log ins at the same time with the only solution of deleting the settings in the Appsdata/Roaming folder. And Firestorm at least you can back up the settings data easily

Yup and they did. I understand a policy under normal circumstances of not rolling back a sim as it could mess up progress of others on mainland. Also doing roll backs willy nilly opens things up to exploits like duplicating no copy items. Anyone that has been in SL for a fair amount of time understands those potential issues.

I downloaded the latest Firestorm Open sim viewer 6.5.6 and for some reason it doesn't even run. I downloaded it using Edge but saw some had issues and I tried Fire Fox and still it wouldn't even run. no screen at all. I try to run as admin as well ... nothing. Anyone else having this issue? Is this the new edition issue or is it something else.

This is why I was so stressed out. I been away from SL for years and recently came back and this is what I recall. However in this situation it was an unamed Linden that caused the disaster which was clearly spelled out prior as an issue. So They likely did it because it was their error and they owned it and did corrections. I got it escalated pretty quickly via chat which might been a factor as other changes in the sim I don't think happened. That is probably why they have that policy generally for mainland which makes sense. But they were swift so it was not an issue to anyone else. Pretty sure the sim was mostly empty by other property owners.

Even if that worked ... there were a bunch of group objects lumped together it would have been a big mess to untangle. Fortunately the Lindens were able to fix it in the end.

I got it escalated in Chat and BIG thanks to Whitney Linden for stepping in and quickly fixing the entire situation. OMG Whitney is officially my favorite Linden. I was so stressed and angry. I already have more than enough grey hairs!! THANKS!!!!

The situation was this. I started a land group and land deeded. But in my busy schedule I neglected to invite alts and friends into the group as I was still setting it up mostly solo. The group disolved even though land was deeded. My mistake for not knowing this was still a thing when deeded land is involved. I filed a ticket for a solution. They were not able to reinstate the group which would been the easiest solution. So the solution was to set the land for sale and resell it to me and I set a new group. Sure no problem .... but I immediately saw an issue. If they set the land to sell one by one it will cause a huge problem with the build that is on it. Solutions were offered. Solutions completely ignored. The solutions were hey link the lands before you set it for sale or a the build will fly back into my inventory. The other solution was I can be there. buy the one larger parcel and move things over and back again after I purchase the other parcel. There were a total of 7 parcels but all side by side. They came, they set the parcels to sale for one by one and COMPLETE disaster happened. 100% avoidable weeks of work just (Badword) up the (other bad word). They did not read or cared about the solutions. This could be a leave SL level event for me. Flushed money down the toilet unless they can do a mainland roll back to fix this complete disaster. COMPLETELY avoidable!!! I am SOOOOOOO pissed right now ... and even worse .... disappointed. A certain unamed linden seriously need to go back to SL noob school. NOT HAPPY!!! UPDATE EDIT: I want to hug Whitney Linden!!!! I was able to get live chat to escalate the situation to their Supervisor of the huge error. And shortly after the mainland sim got rolled back and restored everything! Whitney used the combine all parcels solution I suggested in the original ticket and it worked Great!!! I have to redo the parcels but that is super easy barely an inconvenient as a certain youtuber says. EVERY business can make mistakes. How they resolve those mistakes is the real measure of every business. THANKS for quickly fixing this disaster. My inner Karen is now at peace again. THANKS!!!

It is but it isn't. The group shows as existing if you look at the land info but the info doesn't load and is shows nobody as founder. It just shows for Group Profile "Loading ..." I filed a ticket I will try chat maybe that will get better results.

It is mainland. Yah I have some alts set for full edit and such. Once resolved I will call in the alts until I Get other real people in the group for other roles

I just stress over how much time it is before the repo man comes for my land because of my born again noob blunder. I been in SL since 2004 but after the skill game chaos I took a good decade break or so from doing anything steady so I am rusty as things come back to me. I think the group poofed either late yesterday or sometime today so hasn't been that long yet. Well not entirely poofed ... it shows in the land description still

Ticket is in. Yah thought that was no longer a thing and a relic from the past as I didn't notice a warning when creating the group. The group is still there as far as the land is showing. You would think their system would pop a flag up when land is involved. I am just afraid the land will poof without tier support.

I donated most of my tier to the group and it is no longer showing as donated either. No tier is supporting the land so this is kind of urgent.

Has anyone had this issue? I have a group for land management and land was deeded to the land. I am or was the only one in it currently. The group is coming up as having no founder with nobody in it. SL booted me from my own group rendering a ton of land inaccessible for rezing and basically useless. I submitted a ticket to try to get it fixed and me back in. I know in the old days you had to have one or two others in a group ... would been that and it booted me I saw no warning when I created the group. I thought that silliness was discontinued. I am just trying to get back to use my land again.

So in my meticulous trying to make sure all the objects were set to the right group ... 100% ... the firestorm area search did help ... I was very stupid anyway and deeded things parcel by parcel (I had 4 separate parcels) and a ton of stuff came flying back anyway when it went over the limits when I deeded them one by one. In retrospect I should have combined all the land parcels first. oh well of the best laid plans of mice and avatars.

I saw the height in which objects appear on maps was 300 meters and higher would not appear? Is that still currently correct? or is it higher. Seems a bit low to me. I am trying to make some old school map writing

One of my alt is using an LL issued body at the moment ... she feels the height of a 12 year old to me or I feel like Frankensteins Monster. For ages 6 foot tall in SL was pretty short. why I dunno.

Good advice will do that. But currently there would be no others. just me. So I was hoping to find a way to search for my own objects based on what group they were set to. I won't be deeding things to the group.

I have mainland and I am about to move my land to being group owned for the group own land discount and possible other contributors helping out later on. I THINK I got everything set to the land management group. I repeat THINK. I just fear I missed a bunch of things when I set it to group owned and I get my lost and found filled with objects. Is there a way say a script or something to check to a parcel what groups are set to a given group? In the land tools you can search for deeded objects or parcel owned objects but not really objects set to a given group. Just trying to avoid a mess when I switch.

Generally this is true. But for me I have various entertainment destinations and interactive experiences on top of a small store. So my goal is to try to encourage people to come to my places to see the item and the rest of the store and content. Sure it would be more profitable to just sell stuff with no land ... but I am also trying to bring content which SL still needs greatly. It is just not cheap to do so unfortunately.
