  1. Our community has a few Tommies as well.
  2. I am not very interested in Western roleplay but love history and have to agree with miss Dufaux. Deadwood is one of the best, most authentic feeling historical roleplays I've seen in SL.
  3. Try the 1920s Berlin Project. There is some naughtyness going on there now and then, but always behind closed curtains in private residences. If it isn't you can call the cops on the pervs!
  4. I reply for my own entertainment after I know they can no longer bother my sim Or I write a long venomous reply, send it... wait as they type their reply and then just before they respond I mute them.
  5. Also if you run an active community with tenants and events you just can't afford to ignore someone. Griefers can ruin a sim if nothing is done. And even if you ignore him, there usually is someone else in the community they can harass who will respond.
  6. The problem is that the object is not on my land but on a neighbouring parcel. So no matter what you do, you can't remove it. You have to ask the neighbour or a LL employe to remove it. If the griefer cant rez on the neighbouring parcel, he can wear it as an attachment. Standing on another parcel holding a huge prim will have it infringing on your land but technically they are wearing it on another parcel you have no powers over.
  7. You're lucky. Ours kept griefing our entire community for months and still sometimes sends me a note. But he can now no longer get near us because we got our own full region.
  8. The problem is that even a banned griefer can stand on the edge of your land and wear something huge so it intrudes into your sim. Of course the banning someone from your parcel and neighbouring parcels will have to be very well thought about. Perhaps this can only be able temporary and if your neighbour is online he/she will get a pop up window saying "your neighbour wants to band mr X from your parcel, do you agree?" So if your neighbour tries to ban your friends from your parcel even if they aren't griefers you can disagree or undo it.
  9. I think I've done more then put two cubes on another. I would accept V2 if I liked it and it I enjoyed working with it, neither is the case. The phoenix radar has other options and you may not need it, I do, I have to manage a sim with rules. Phoenix has building options that I immediatly miss when I try to work on V2. If V2 is fine for you, congratulations. I just prefer Phoenix. Nothing to get upset about.
  10. I think LL should give landowners more powers. If you own a parcel perhaps you should be able to ban someone from that entire region as long as they don't own a parcel in that same region. The griefer can then complain to LL to have this undone. The only way to combat a griefer yourself is by buying a region and praying your griefer doesn't buy a region next door. But also, whoever complains should get at least some confirmation that something is being done about your AR. We don't need details, we understand privacy is important these days, but at least tell the person who send the AR that someone looked into the case. We send countless AR's every time we saw that griefer, creating lots of AR's every single day, creating more work for the LL. It would have cost LL a lot less time to simply send someone to look inot the case, ban the griefer from the region, etc. Allow parcel owners to kick someone home or ban them nor just in your parcel but also in neighbouring parcels. If your neighbours don't agree with it, they can undo the ban, but when a griefer attacks making sure they can't hang out in your parcel AND neighbouring parcels is the only way to do something about them without LL having to come and do something.
  11. There are many reasons why people prefer one viewer above another. Personally I just don't like the way v2 works, where the buttons are, how it made my viewe smaller, how I just had less freedom then I have with Phoenix. Also v2 didn't have some of the great extra gadgets such as the radar, the copy/paste of prim settings, sizes, textures, etc. As a builder phoenix has a lot of thingd I wouldn't want to do without.
  12. Unlike most other countries represented on the SL forums, pretty much all the Dutch people who manage to get the internet to work speak English eventhough it is not their first language. So not sure if we need one especially as I would not be interested in anything Dutch related in SL.
  13. Yes report the griefer by sending an AR, or chat to live support or send a ticket... I did all of the above several times and it took LL only 8 months (!!!!) to even look at the situation...
  14. How can we help you if we don't know what you like? Most people may enjoy a club with loud modern music and half naked people, I would not know how to run away fast enough. Some people like doing naughty stuff, others prefer discussing early medieval social etiquette in North Western Europe. So, what do YOU like? What are YOU looking for? When I came to SL I only looked around to test the abilities of my new computer. I HATED what I saw around me, I don't care about shopping, I hate contemporary music, I couldn't care less for chatting with strangers, I'm disgusted with the nudity and kinky stuff, etc, etc. BUT... then I tried the search engine with subjects I love, I enjoy, I am interested in. Within minutes I was chatting about the 1930s while listening to Al Bowlly in a exciting bohemian pre-WW2 setting. And I was lost. So find what YOU are interested in and you will find people who share the passion. But remember, SL is what YOU make it. So if you can't find anything you truly love, make it yourself like I did. You will be suprised about how many people may come and visit your creation. No matter how weird, perverted or plain nuts, there are always others who share your interest.
  15. The Blue Moon is grand! Of course I also love the Odeon in 1920s Berlin. A big old theatre where we have all sorts of entertainment from live music, to cabaret to original 1920s plays by Brecht performed by our German language students.
  16. Yes, they are for sale. Have to warn people that we are a 1920s roleplay sim so you will be asked to dress in 1920s clothing (freebies available at entrance).
  17. Der Keller! Dirty old small damp dance hall hidden away in dark backstreets of 1920s Berlin. Only 1920s music, only 1920s clothing and only 1920s dancing. Happy hour EVERY day at 2 pm slt, friday tango night, sunday donations night with freebies for all.
  18. Dresden gallery is indeed amazing. We have a small museum in 1920s Berlin as well. One hall shows a photo exhibition about daily life in RL 1920s Berlin, the other hall has a monthly changing exhibition about all sorts of subjects. This month 1920s modern art.
  19. I take them to 1920s Berlin to show them what I've build, how the sim works and then end the tour at my nightclub where we dance to 1920s music.
  20. I spend 99% of all my time in 1920s Berlin, just walking around the neighbourhood, talking to people, meeting friends and in the evening listen to 1920s music while people dance and chat.
  21. In 1920s Berlin we have a threatre, night club, fancy hotel. Plenty of places for people to come around, sign in and perform for tips. As long as it fits the location and sim theme, its all welcome. Interested? Give us a call.
  22. My avatar is as much like RL me as I could get her, except she wears 1920s clothing and I wear 1930s clothing. I got annoyed with everyone looking like "sexy" barbie or ken giants. As soon as you give yourself a realistically scaled avatar it becomes even more obvious how unusual everyone looks. I never felt the need to look like an idealised me, an animal, some fantasy creature. Just like I am not very interested in living the dream of being rich, famous, fantastic, etc. In SL I am a common, workingclass cafe owner in a bad cheap dirty neighbourhood of 1920s Berlin.
  23. I never cared much for fashion or clothing in SL or RL. I've started wearing vintage 1940s clothing in RL a few years ago and run a 1920s sim in SL. So I did some shopping to get my avatar to look like me and that was it. Hate shopping. I love creating, but not clothes.
  24. So are they there yet? Lindens, are the bigger prim sizes coming soon? Please? Do I sound desperate? Do I sound impatient? :smileyvery-happy:
