  4. I found them in search. They are also marked on the map. These are some examples - Ahern is one of the biggest ones http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ahern/3/4/40 http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ahern/3/4/40 http://slurl.com/secondlife/Violet/165/97/27 Then there is Miramare, Oak Grove...trying to recall. I haven't been to any of them in a few years.
  5. Owners of properties can ban you for any reason or no reason. Allowing people in their establishement is solely at their discretion.
  6. The envy does not come with that graphics card, It is not bolded. Most computers come with extra dedicated memory as an upgrade. Her question was not about money. The specific pavillion she posted did not even have that option.
  7. btw the envy has dedicated memory NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory Personally, I prefer Sony Vaio but mostly because it's small and portable...I do like HP though - both of my HPs are still working..one I got in 2007 and the other one in 2010. Both got 8 plus hours of SL a day for years on them (used to work in SL as my RL job).
  8. For SL definitely the HP Envy - it has 2Gb of dedicated graphics card memory. If you want it just for browsing the internet and FB then the cheaper one will do just fine.

    Last Name?

Only old accounts have an actual last name. In your case your last name is Resident... Soo...you are banetrex Resident.
  11. I logged in and tried abandon my land and had no trouble finding the abandon option. Right click the land first...select about land It will open a box and the abandon land button is in bottom right hand corner Good luck!

Yes, it is possilbe, however, it is also very expensive. $500 set up fee and then $500 annual fee (note that the price is in US Dollars, not Linden Dollars) Also, your last name must sound like an organization - LL used to provide pretty much any custom name but that's not longer an option unless you are best buddy with some higher up Lindens. Official info is here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Custom_Name_Program
  13. The store looks just like any other store. Demos are marked and priced clearly. There is not much more to say except be careful what you are buying in SL marketplace and online in general.
  14. Fly as keep flying up or just hover over it like sitting above it?
  15. The more the better. 4G RAM is good. 8G RAM is awesome. But there is also question of graphics card. You need a dedicated graphics card with no less than 500MB dedicated memory. 1G or more would be ideal. If you get a laptop with integrated graphics card then your SL might not show correctly, be choppy, or freezing. I remember trying my old HP laptop without dedicated graphics card memory and i could not even move from a spot and everythign was gray. Just saying. These are the official system requirements https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/?lang=en-US
  16. Absolutely! That would be considered blacklisting and your post would get removed. If you do it multiple times you might get banned from the forums.
  17. :catembarrassed: it could happen for multiple reason from bandwidth, video card..have you tried rebaking? Sometimes it helps.
  18. Issues with prepaid and gift cards A common cause of payment method failure is the use of unsupported card types. At this time, the majority of prepaid cards are not compatible with our system, even if they bear the VISA/AMEX/Mastercard logo. This includes cards purchased at retail stores, rechargeable credit cards, and bank-issued check cards. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Billing/ta-p/700037#Section_.7.2
  19. you computer sounds good. Now how about your connection and bandwidth?
  20. It sounds like the yellow triangles might be the "unrezzed mesh symbols" It could happen becausee the sim you are in is acting up or your connection/bandwidth are not fast enough, or your computer is not up to SL standards. What viewer are you using, how much RAM do you have on your computer and how much dedicated memory does your videocard have?
  21. So what can you do? Can you build? Texture? Do mesh or sculpties? How about scripts? Can you DJ and have your own stream? Just questions lots of people will ask
  22. Miko Kuramoto wrote: financial and.......... the sexual reputation that is tagged with SL. As a gamer (wow, swtor, lol, tera, gw2 just to name a few), most other non-SL gamers that i know think this is an erotic rpg. Big RL companies won't be associated with that. I miss them, they had fun sims. You are right about the bad reputation about sex. However, I've always said that SL is like the internet. If you can imagine it you can find it...if you look. People who are against porn don't stop using the internet just because it can be found there. RL companies don't remove their websites either.
  23. It did happen to me but not in the past few years. It was still in times of Ruth. Let's just hope it won't happen again... btw Now i'm giggling picturing my long curly hair attached to my crotch and shoes to my butt. lol Good times!
