Never for the money, but because I wanted to create the nicest products that I could, offering as much customer service as I could. Because it was my passion to do so and because I wanted my customers to get the best. Meanwhile I've had a wonderful social life in SL and helped my friends as much as I could. Maybe it's better to know someone before you judge someone.
  2. Hey guys. I'm leaving SL. It was a great ride, but now it's time for me to go. With my shop Symfurny Furniture I was pretty successful. Over the past few years I've created some nice furniture, hammocks, couples animations, sand writings and much more. I've worked my way up, bought my own sim and made some money. But now the end is here. The reason: I also have a RL business and I can't combine it anymore with SL. Especially the changes in Search took too much time for me to survive in SL. I think this is a major fault by LL, together with the new viewer. But LL won't change and won't listen to their customers. So this is the end for me. I thank all friends and customers and wish you all a wonderful 2012 !!
  3. Good job Torley. But the fact remains that Support Tickets simply don't get answered by LL. Support Tickets are usually filed when residents *really* need help, often with very urgent issues. But nobody at the Lab answers and tickets remain 'New' for months. This huge lack of support seems to me a bit more important than easy-to-find help pages. I do appreciate your work Torley, really, but please stir something up at the Lab so that out Support Tickets get answered again.
  4. Thanks for the planar mapping alignment. It will come in handy some day. But what I still don't understand is why you can't make the sidebar completely customizable. And with that I mean: let the SL residents themselves decide if they want the sidebar or not. I'll explain... I've undocked the Inventory window and the People window, because I need these windows undocked for product transfers and so on. When I minimize these windows, they appear at the left upper side in the viewer, one beneath the other, and disappear from the sidebar. When I relog, these 2 windows appear maximized again, but can be minimized to the left upper corner again. That's a nice improvement. But if undocking is so easy, why can't the sidebar windows be transformed to buttons in the bottom bar, next to Gesture, Move, Build, Search etcetera? I mean: drag the Inventory tab from the sidebar to the bottom bar and get it transformed as a new buttun. And by doing so, one sidebar tab after another, removing the sidebar alltogether? Even the Home tab could be a button at the bottom bar. Or add an option in Preferences to hide the sidebar alltogether and have buttons in the bottom bar instead? And another idea: for example, clicking on the Inventory button (in the bottom bar) opens my Inventory. Clicking that button again would open a second Inventory window, and so on. That would be great! If the Snowstorm team could manage this, then I'll use 2.2 (2.3) as my default viewer. Not now yet.
  5. Just checked again (about prim count). The edit window says this: Don't know what it means, regarding prim count.
  6. Don't know actually When selecting the entire chair it said 2 objects. I don't know if this means 2 prim.
  7. WOW, great job guys! I am learning 3ds Max and made a kitchen chair. Uploaded it as collada to the project viewer and it uploaded and rezzed without any problems! Resize was perfect (thanks for the 64 meters), even collision was perfect (didn't even make a special mesh for it) and prim count is 2 (wooden parts 1, cushion 1). LOD was terrible lol, but I didn't make any specific LOD-meshes yet. My pc: Vista Home 64-bit SP2, Intel Core2 Quad, 4 Gb RAM, Geforce GTS 250, 3ds Max 2010, latest DFX/DAE plugin.
  8. Is there any documentation about prim count, LOD and texturing?
  9. Dear Q, this blog posting is about options. But frankly, I couldn't care less. As you see in the comments, the real story is about customer satisfaction. Your customers, to be exact. Many Residents feel that LL doesn't listen anymore. In fact, many of us, including me, think that Linden employees don't spend enough time in Second Life to fully understand what living and working in SL actually means. V2 is the best example. Several polls indicate clearly that 70, 80% or maybe more of the Residents don't like or even hate it. We were told that real SL users helped developing V2. If so, how come that many many users don't like it and the UI is unworkable for many content creators? Why don't you do anything about that dreadful sidebar in V2? Or make it at least moveable. Another example is the big Search fail from the last months, which drove many longtime respectable business owners into bankruptcy. During those months people were desperate, because their cries of help to Linden Lab weren't heard. It's all about customer satisfaction. Listening to your customers and NOT ignoring them and just go along as you yourselves have planned. So, more or less viewer options? It's just a meaningless discussion. Your customers just want a stable network and a good product that they can work with. You can only provide that if you listen to your customers.
  10. 2.02 is an improvement, yes. But I still have one deal breaker: the sidebar cannot be moved.
