Why would the tell you to ask in forums?!?  Nothing said here is an official answer, unless answered by a linden.

Shocks ya when ya get that answer.  From support.  Asking whether a functionality is as intended.  So you can know if you should invest time in reporting something "broken".  Must be the plan for support's role. Because its happening.

On OPs idea, it is flying a little too close to the sun/TOS.  This is supposed to be fun, not time spent inworld wondering if you're going to get dinged for breaking TOS.  I like the gift card idea.  :)

And on resiliency too, it helps to have those around us whose language reminds us to not take ourselves (in SL) too seriously.  So we don't get too immersed in the latest trigger, for too long.  I bet that's appreciated by lots of folks here and appreciation for it not expressed nearly enough.

If I do, I leave. There's no problem so great in SL that I can't just teleport away from or leave behind as I log out.  I've been here a very long time, but I never lose sight of the fact that this is not RL. If it ever loses its joy, I know where the door is.

Amen.  Not sellin my religion with that.

t's one of those things that seems "solid" until you look too close or ask too many people.

And prayer to some is a reminder they are not alone.  In the most silent, still, horrifying moments of their day.  And its intimately personal.  A resource one really defines in themselves.  Anyone who has ever worked a suicide hotline understands.  It ain't about advertising the best religion.  Its sometimes identifying how to get one to the next day.

What we feel is within us, whether the stimulus for that feeling comes from an interaction in real life, in SL, or from something we watch on TV or read in a book. Any coping mechanisms we use to control our emotions are valid as long ad they work for us and don't hurt others.

I haven't finished reading your commentary, but this is gold.

I don't need resilience to enjoy SL. I need it for real life. If SL upsets one so much that they need coping mechanisms to continue using it, they might benefit by real life therapy.

    Hear, hear.

For entertainment purposes. The day it is generally more stressful than enjoyable entertainment is the day one should seriously consider backing away from the keyboard.

Resiliency?  Navigating around those that just insist on never being positive/always being negative, it helps to be mindful - really conscious of - that all that negative spewing comes from RL hurt that hasn't been properly navigated by [their RL situation-not necessarily their fault].

And having - constantly available at a moments notice - the room in one's heart to understand that's goin on when it happens, and *let them get through their path that they need to navigate* with compassion and without being sucked down in to it.   Like quicksand.  Slowly taking your joy away.

Admittedly it takes a huge clearing of ones throat and a deep breath sometimes, because heck, we are all human.  And yes, I surely wish there was more self-awareness and self-control before spewing.  But responding to it requires self-awareness and self-control also.

Privately owned forums are not the "free world". Where people get the idea that free speech applies everywhere

Truly odd interpretation, and not what I said.  You defined "free world" by your thinking, not mine.  I was speaking personhood and respect for others differences within public conversation, regardless of who owns the sidewalk.  Because I appreciate that approach, I accept our differences and agree to disagree with you.  Thanks for being you out loud :) + Being entertaining is a plus - ty!  See how our differences can coexist without my turning your being different into a Peeve of mine. +

  7. If I recall I was actually impressed that the server-end partner had so much absolute control over ownership (usually a good thing) of these pets, that in an instant all that work could be extinguished at-will so completely.  It seemed like and the remaining partner suggested that pet is rezzed - it instantly pings the server and not finding it the animal remains grey.  Animals were no copy no mod too of course, so messing with them was not possible after rezzing. Even if raiding cache for #-textures was possible, animals were no cc no mod.  Broke my heart too, because I just love love loved my Jack Russels.  I have found no comparable dog pet replacement since. +I just keep hoping and hoping that Kitty Cats will build a dog.+

  8. ... its like every single thread one goes to there is discussion that breaks something in those rules...

I mean, peeve: Human discussion in a free world should allow diversions and colors of conversation to be interjected, without someone saying "nuh uh uh not allowed".  There is a line that is reasonable for shutting a conversation down  - a real business line - it triggers at the grey zone that approaches legal liability.  I agree with making rules and drawing the line at that of course, because it keeps this business "open".  There are real risks there not stopping that liability.  But e.g. mentioning Slink in a thread with a title about Blueberry seems to break the rules too.  But to me, its making a circus of the rules and vastly overkill to expect that every conversation that veers away from noun-verb-noun discussion should be shut down.

+ I mean, is this a community site? Where conversation between residents should be cultivated not squeezed so narrow no one talks about anything to each other.  Or is this "just a game" site? Where yah, shut down all discussion that "doesn't sell the game" to new users.  To me we can call it one, or the other, but not both.+

I did see a thread where a Linden was being catcalled again by someone - was that after the request we don't do that anymore?  I dunno maybe that post was dated before that request, I am flitting through a lot of discussions to catch up this morning.  Possible it was before we were asked not to.

But to even that rule, it *feels* like the avenues available for communicating important stuff (e.g. Biobreeds stuff on MP should have been removed very long ago) to LL are growing fewer.

  9. This was reported and reported again many many months years back. MP was asked to pull down all Biobreeds animals.  Old news history why it happened, but the result was those pets already rezzed remain fine, but if you unrez/rerez they are all grey - because the texture comes from the server.  No more births, because that requires the server.  Just don't unrez them we were told.  I kept mine more than a year after that - my Jagger! - then unrezzed him.  They should not have been on MP all this time at all, because any unrezzed pets will never, ever work.  I would love to hear something has changed since about it, but I suspect not.  At that time it was recommended that a batch process should be run to take all Biobreeds animals down. To OP, sorry about your purchase :(

would have been to open source Slink

Absolutely, or that LL didn't just buy the body and use it for the Senra releases.  Whatever they would have paid, it would have been a quality move on the part of LL and confidence raised.  I thought that before Senra came out and hoped for it, and even after it came out working with it for awhile.  Would have been a delight to see that kind of investment by LL.

I went to the Blueberry shop yesterday.  Good times, good times...  Prices are such, that I dreamt of a no-support period (temporarily it is hoped!) with half-off the entire store. They've done that before the half-off, so it wouldn't be such a reach hoping for that.  Outfit I have put off gettin forever is now priced at L$2600.  Half off that is still, for me, quite high, but absolutely even full price well worth it (love the BB!) if all works as expected in the box. No support just made me hesitate yet again in case a model or something I need is a little off.

BB deserves whatever rest they would like, and whatever good things have come their way.  Hard work pays off for many, I am not at all surprised, and I couldn't be happier for them.  Picturing them on a RL beach somewhere thinkin of nothing at all, just nothin at all and having an empty to-do list for the day.
