  1. @ Hoegoe Kawashima thanks, I appreciate the advice, i didn't know that and completely forgot about the shine in world you can add @ Aquila Kytori i tried using the method you advised and it worked perfectly! thank you
  2. Hello all, i created a shiny material, when i click 'render image' i can see the shiny texture, but then when i go to 'bake' it (so i could upload it to secondlife) i only see the baked maps not the gloss, can someone possibly tell me the steps on how to save the material so you can upload it to secondlife? hope im making sense
  3. im going to give it a try, don't go to far, still a bit confused (lol) ryhs do you go through the same process as frawmusl? thank you both
  4. so how will i go about changing the LOD? i feel like such a noob lol
  5. is it possible to make a mesh item (a store logo) that wont take up a lot of prims? if so, how? i made a logo but when i go to upload it, land impact is more then 100 prims, and when i made it bigger in world, it went to 500 :S... if it isnt possible, how are 'sculpt maps' made?
  6. What i need sculpted is 2 simple logos. i've created them before but when i uploaded them (as mesh) i realizd that their land impact increases as i make them bigger, so i would like them to be 'old school', one prim if possible. and im having trouble making 'sculpt maps' so if anyone is experienced and would like to make some ls for making something simple, hit me up here or in world.
  7. yeah i see what you mean, was my first go in blender, trying to get the hang of things, and a better understanding of what i should do. any advice i can get is helpful, i appreciate it. what's the best way of making a shirt in your opinion? cube or like the video i posted above?
  8. http://tinypic.com/r/30m9ttd/5 you see how the vertices aren't squares, will that effect the texturing? Is there a way to fix that or will the UV mapping like you recommended work?
  9. ohh okay, yeah i watched the first link, ima give it a shot. So i could use the same shirt i made or will i have to make a new one?

    basic shirt

I'm trying to make a simple shirt, i've started and finished (so i thought) followed this tutorial off youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2AN_suywZc ) and everything was looking great until i uploaded it secondlife and put a grid, (if you need a pic to know what im talking about ill upload one) but baically i was wondering if its possible to fix the faces on the shirt or if anyone knows a better tutorial/can explain what i should be doing to avoid this from happening in the future, appreciate any help thanks.
  11. i know this question has probably been asked a numerous of times but i can't seem to find a direct answer to my problem lol, im fairly new to blender but i know the basics. my question is how can i use my own avatar? i exported the OBJ file, got it into blender, but when i hit copy bone weights to the selected parts of the body, i.e current head to old head, the vertexes aren't all being copied only a few, and some vertexes from the arm and legs some how get moved into the 'current' head vertex group.
