Sooooo. This week's "style challenge" -- from @BelindaN this time -- was "pinup fashion."
Last night, I did a test shot that I produced quite differently than how I usually do my pics -- using Pixlr online instead of Photoshop, for one thing. And it came out well enough that it's no longer a "test" shot.
Hey boys! Go kick Adolf's teeth in for me! Mwahs!
I think you might have found your true vocation. Wicked grin.

No, that is the world in general these days.
Yes, the forums are different after the latest rules that LL laid down. While it does minimize some of the drama, it always diminishes a lot of the comradery that happened here. IMO, the forums are not better for it. I don't visit near as often and don't pay attention to very many threads at all anymore.
Couldn't agree more Lil.
Drama is down yes... but so is the excitement and engagement.Back in the day when the Forum Cartel was formed, we fought like cat and dog here... met inworld and Hugged/Danced it out.
Shrugs... maybe it's the world that has changed. Folks are entitled to call us grumpy oldbies, I can live with that, but we gave up a lot to live in this new sanitised realty.- 11

I once asked a Skinmaker ( Chip Midnight ) about this , about 12 or 13 years ago. His honest response was, making Black skins was twice as much work as making white skins because of the variety of shading involved in making Black skin. Most Skinmakers back in the day just took their white skins and threw buckets of brown paint over them, and yeah they looked fu%$ing hideous. Also for those that tried to do it right, they sold about 10-15% of their Caucasian skins. Twice as much work for 90% less money.
Luckily there are are quite a few good black and Asian Skinmkakers on the grid these days. Also culture has shifted somewhat, agonisingly slowly, true... but moving in noticeable increments. All humans are basically Africans, some of us are Melanin challenged admittedly, but when we look at an African face we recognise our ancestors.
Black is Beautiful... I mean, this is SL... you want to look beautiful, right?
If you can not find an awesome Afro skin in Sl these days, you are just being lazy.- 7

If you want to get a sense of the scale of the Blake Sea... I would recommend starting in the central Blake Sea, somewhere like Honah Lee.
Then pick a direction N E W or South. The Blake is impressively vast. -

If I message someone first, I've already decided what I want to say by looking through their profile and finding a morsel of interest. Profile are.there for a reason. Use them! Life might be easier if we DID have them in RL.
I don't think I have ever, not once, just said hello without including the reason why I messsaged. Not a "hi" and wait for a "hi" back nor do I ask "how are you today?" Or "what are you up to?".
" Hi, I was reading your awesome profile and wanted to ask you about that place you mentioned (event, store, game, etc). Do you happen to have the LM for it?"
"Hi, I was reading your profile and...". Mention whatever caught your interest.and build from there.
Nothing I hate more than... So, what brings you here today? Or...So, what are you looking for here? Personal questions are even worse. Any pertinent RL.info is already in my profile...for a reason.
All words to live by... if your first post to me is " Hi",
I am gonna assume this convo will go nowhere, because they usually do.
If you your first post was like, " Oh hey I see you like sailing... what is wrong with you? , I went sailing once and nearly drowned lol"
I foresee a 30 min conversation, minimum.
"Hi, How are you?" just aint gonna cut it in SL .. you need to be WAY more interesting than that !- 8

Oh my, Orfeu, it has been years since we last exchanged words. CAC days! Those days ending in such acrimony. I don't know why. It brings me great joy to read your name once again (and a few others who have participated in this thread). Peace to you, Orfeu, thanks for posting a wonderful and kind: Hi.
I am something of a cockroach it seems, and quite content with that title. Surviving difficult times is still preferable to the alternative.
I mentioned LeeHere Absent here on the forum a few days ago .. she is indeed sorely missed. But I am heartily glad to still count you among the living in these... coughs ... challenging times.- 1

My, my Brea (I write Brea because you wrote (to me) many years ago you like cheese); so, Brea it is), your post is fantastic and honest from a girls perspective. You have such a beautiful avatar, and always changing. Boys like that. When you ask them out shopping what is your intention? Are you open to their preference or are you just trying to seduce? Sexy clothing? Sure! Do you mean latex or cotton nighties? It's all subjective. Skins? I learned a long time ago, whenever asked, if your 'rear looked too big in these jeans', to always say NO. But thanks for asking. BTW Boys will always be boys. Re: Cheating. How men behave in SL is the same as how women behave in SL, no? I think both genders have been heartbroken - it's the risk we take as humans who operate avatars - and the same is applicable in RL. The boys I know, and men, love to take gals shopping. And to dinner and dancing, but not one that I know is 'unfaithful', were you projecting? Rhetorical. Boys don't want to know. Re: Threesomes. Most boys just want to get laid and/or find one gal who appreciates him going shopping or to events with her.
Oh Hi Storm... Long time no rez

Wow that phrase brought a bunch of memories flooding back
I really REALLY miss Leehere Absent. We remained good platonic friends despite our favourite subject matter mostly being about Human Sexuality... which could , yanno, border on the titillating at times lol.
She has not logged in for many many years, and yet I could never delete her from my friends list.
I would love to know that she is alive and well in some corner of the globe.
A unique thinker and communicator... she is sorely missed.- 4

This is a really nice mature skin. Would you mind sharing where you got it?
It is from Sessions... I also layered it up quite a bit with Izzie's stuff. I wanted a mature look that wasn't an 80 year old Grandpa.

So we can assume that you aren't really "world weary"? 🙃
Not totally .. no... but it is definitely convenient to assume that expression at times.

Sl is just a fantasy world... you don't need to be honest or speak true here.
Raises an eyebrow and assumes a world-weary expression.

I am replaying Cyberpunk 2077. I completed the game under the street kid path and just started a new game as a nomad. Night City is very nicely made and many times I will just walk around like a tourist... a tourist with cybernetic implants.
I did 3 playthroughs, and despite it's faults I applaud the ambition of it. Very engaging content
