  1. Thanks so much for the kind reply, Chic Aeon! All the photos were taken for educational purposes and inworld teaching activities. I will also take your advice and contact them directly and see what they reply.
  2. Hi, I am a language educator who has been using SL for teaching and research and published multiple journal articles reporting my findings in SL. I recently got a book project contract and the publisher would like to know if I own the copyright of the screenshot images taken inworld when I conducted teaching/research. The reason is that I have included those screenshots in my book as illustrations to demonstrate how to teach and research in SL. For example, I took students on a virtual trip to an Island or gallery museum for oral presentation. But the publisher would like to know if I retain the copyright of my inworld screenshots used in the book? As far as we are concerned, players in SL retain copyright to their own avatars and creations, and fair use principles are promoted by Linden Labs as congruent with their principles of creativity and innovation. Is that still the current position? Your advice is much appreciated.
  3. It's so frustating! I've been trying to open my SL viewer 2 by clicking on the SL icon on my desktop. Usually it worked until yesterday. After I cliked on the SL viewer icon, the screen popped up but just froze there forever! I don't know what happened. I tried to remove the application and redownload it a couple times, but it still doesn't work. I use MAC and the system is MAC OS X. Again, it never happened before until yesterday...:smileysad: Please help! Thanks.

  5. Hello everyone, after downloading the latest version (2.8.0.236429) as required, the loading has become very slow. I tried to go to different SIMs to see if there would be a difference. But those SIMs I usually had no problem with navigating have become very heavy-loading. It's quite annoying that I couldn't go back to the previous Viewer version after the update. Did anyone also come across the same issue? How can it be resolved? BTW, my system is Mac OSX10.6.3. Thank you...
