I have a similar issue, if I log into Radegast and strip my avi naked I can login on the SL Viewer or Firestorm. If I try to put on a dress I freeze (longer than 10 minutes) or if I try to relog it stops at loading word though others tell me I was logged in...I can't see anything.

I am having a similar issue and it appears to be involving some outfits. I can have an Avatar logged in and try to change outfits and the screen goes black. Log-off and into a chat only viewer, remove the outfit and I can login to Firestorm again. The SL viewer has the same issue. I am guessing that it is a setting in preferences but haven't found it yet. Julianna, try stripping your avatar and see if it can login to the laptop, it will tell you if it's related to some sort of attachment that was on the avatar.
