  1. I'm looking for the same thing. I used to upload priority 6 animations, but this seems no longer possible. So, how can I make a priority 4 animation inside an attached prim override the priority 4 walking and turning animations of most AOs? If anybody out there has the answer, please help!
  2. There is a very easy solution to this. It's probably just the open notifications that are making your viewer crash. Just do this: 1. When you get the "Darn. You have been... etc." message, don't click on "Quit". Click on "view IMs" instead. 2. On the upper right corner, you'll see the "Notifications" button: it's a little rectangle resembling an envelope with the number 994 (that's the number of open notifications when the viewer stops counting). Right click on it and click "Close All". You'll need to wait a few seconds until your computer deletes the open notifications. (If your viewer crashes while doing this, try it again in some protected region like Smith. If you still crash, try closing manually a few notifications. But probably you won't need to do any of this.) 3. Quit and relog. This should fix it. After that you only need to remember closing the open notifications from time to time!

  7. I have noticed this for a long time. It only happens in the official viewer (or at least it doesn't happen in Firestorm), and it only happens with some types of HUDs. I never worried much about this, but I've recently begun to build, and I have this problem with the Encogma HUD I'm using. When you minimize the HUD, a little logo should remain on the screen, so that you can open it again. This works fine in Firestorm. But in the official viewer the HUD just disappears when you minimize it, and you need to detach it and wear it again to be able to open it. Is this a bug, or maybe it can be fixed changing some setting in the viewer? Thank you Charolotte and Theresa... It must be some other thing. I contacted the creator of the HUD, I hope he can fix it! Update 7/02/2013: Problem solved! The Encogma creator sent me a new updated version of the HUD, it works fine now. You can minimize it without a problem. It's a pity that many products I bought from other creators (especially shoes) won't be fixed unless the creators (who used Encogma) make new updated versions, using the updated HUD!
  8. I've read here that it's advisable to create separate caches for different accounts in the same computer. How do I do this? When I change the cache location in preferences it changes for all my accounts, no matter what account I'm using at the moment. Edit: Irene, I don't see different folders for my different accounts. They all seem to have the cache in the same location. When I change the location in preferences, it changes for all accounts. I read here http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/I-am-having-login-problems-on-3-of-avatars-but-not-the-others/qaq-p/1162707 that having the cache for all accounts at the same location can lead to rez and log in problems. I'm having problems of that kind, and I see that they are related to the cache because I can only fix them by clearing cache. I think that having separate cache locations for my accounts would probably solve this issue... so how can I do it?
  9. I found this free anklelock script here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/AnkleLock I haven't tried it yet, but I hope it will work.
  10. If they talked Rodvik out of bringing last names back showing him statistics of abandonment at the registration stage... shouldn't we start going to the current hideous and misleading registration page (I hate that silly rabbit!) and reload it a hundred times, every day? If enough of us did that, their statistics would give them a different picture. Maybe that would work better than trying to communicate with LL?
  11. So all this preaching and ranting is because somebody said "sickened" instead of "disappointed"? I see. Talking about over-reactions...
  12. I never thought about that, Seven! I think you are probably right! And I wonder also how many of the new accounts created in the new Resident era are new users that registered as HKkeg8547593 and then found out that that was going to be their avatar name, for ever, so they had to go back and create a new account with a passable name like HoracioKiroga or whatever. I'm pretty sure that happened to at least 50% of new users. The registration page is so absurdly misleading!
  13. Please, Rodvik! Don't shut the discussion like this! This isn't a fail yet. It isn't over! Please don't give up! I have been thinking about this all night, and I think there is a "win-win" solution! I know it must be hard, but please don't stop listening to us! I'm sure most SL users don't care too much about last names, but this isn't just about last names. This is about LL listening to residents. You have made a great effort in this, and I fear you must feel that the only reward has been a lot of bitter attacks against you. But this is how human beings are. Please don't give up! We can solve this problem yet. My idea for a win-win is this: don't change anything in the registration page, but add a link at the bottom of it, something like "if you want to have a SL LAST NAME, click here". This link would open into an old style last name list registration page. So everybody would be happy! The class issue would be solved. There would be new users with and without a last name. Having no last name (being a Resident) would not have anything to do with your SL age, it would just be a personal choice. We know this would be technically possible, since those third party registration sites were still active for a while. Please, Rodvik! Don't let us down.
  14. Lol!! Wonderful Futurama scene, Ranya! :matte-motes-big-grin:
  15. That's exactly it, Mercury! Those beautiful last names felt real. They made the experience of joining SL much more immersive... It felt like being born. Last names made you feel you truly belonged to SL, from the very beginning. They made you part of the community. Jira - SVC-7125 Don't just vote for this, watch it!!
