  1. Can further confirm , 'open houses' are fine according to the Covenant. People can allows or disallow anyone onto their parcel at will (with a security orb now) meaning they can allow people to come and go or keep it as a sort of private spot. There's also the following line: "*Residents may decorate the interior of their house to their liking. The exterior should always remain in theme out of consideration for your neighbors." Only thing people can't do is show their homes in search, hence the group chat landmarks are more of an informal "You can come into my house if you want." I can also confirm that the Knowledge Base concerning Linden Homes are not entirely outdated, but rather incomplete: There's one mention of not being able to modify the home.. for a 512m2 parcel size. IMO, after reading the rest of the thread, sounds like a bit of buttmad they ain't using your stuff.
  2. You don't NEED all those super duper fancy decorative pieces of furniture. With all mine done decorated, I still got like 120 prims left. Enough for my own little sandbox.
  3. In case the subtext is too small, it reads: "There are reasons why you shouldn't look at some things online while at the office." But yeah, that's my attempt at the whole warning for the 'behind closed doors' rule.
  4. Do what I do, and keep yourself your own little personal sandbox for small simple builds, unpacking, and avatar modifications.
  5. Alright, I'm convinced, I'll show mine off a bit. I had to black out some of my wall hanging images and doctor up my desktop, though. Should be fine, nothing naughty's showing. Now if I could only get over my social anxiety and say hello to my neighbors...

  7. In case it hasn't been said already, the Old 512sqm Styles are still available. The 175 prim count is mitigated by Mesh, and there's plenty of footspace still do to stuff. EDIT: If they DO get rid of the 512s, it'll have to be after the 1024s are all complete. We're only in Phase 1.
  8. Question: Most of my lot is sand, so I don't have a garden. Am I still okay to post pictures?
  9. I'm more for the 'essentials.' Y'know, toilet, bath, bed, table, hot tub, bar, TV with a rug in front of it, kitchen set, my security orb, fancy sports car, some framed images, and a 'clothing optional' sign. Still got 161 prims to play around with.
  10. "Hi, how are you?" and variants. Response: "No, officer, it's how high are you."
  11. *spots post count* Oh, you's a funny guy. In all seriousness, though, Linden Labs won't do anything, aside from point to the already existing ratings. Sex sells, even if it's pixel bumping. They remove adult content, not only will they need to spend resources to moderate all of Second Life, but the user base would plummet faster than Galileo's Balls.
  12. From that description, it seems to me that the 'fish' it rezzes are 'temp,' as in 'temporary.' They will delete themselves after ~60 seconds.
  13. Likely is that, from the look of an image of a full bright hedge: Could be running on a weaker machine, newbie resident that don't know any better, etc. Best I can suggest for that would be to offer to help them figure out how textures work in SL. If they respond, well, poorly, then that's a different situation.
  14. I was being specific cuz that was happened to me: My 'wall' is only barely taller than my normal height avatar, and is not the only 'barrier' in Heirlong. Heck, there's one that's taller few houses down actually right next door, though it is more of a fence. It could only be considered an eyesore because their home sat empty until they left.
  15. On one hand, I'm tempted to, and to convince my friend to do the same at the same time to try and get ourselves a bit closer to each other. On the other hand, I'm in a spot that is subjectively good: End of a road, right by the ocean, short walk to a public beach, and a little isle in the distance.
  16. If patience fails, you can periodically try for one of the fancy new homes if you don't wanna wait on official word. People still abandon these new ones, usually to try for a more favourable spot, or because one of their neighbors put up a fence when their lot didn't have a fence and hence no feeling of privacy even if the house is practically in a corner. It's up to you to grab it before someone else does.
  17. Someone probably already suggested it, but how about little 'community' centers, like the ones strewn about in the old 512 homes?
  18. Maybe 3-5 years ago this might have been the case, what with the 512sqm plot size and 175 prims to work with. Now Premium gives the next step up, 1024 with 351 prims, no extra charge. Objects nowadays are also much less impactful thanks to Mesh. That one high quality house takes up 70 prims as mesh, when it would be 150-200 with nothing but prims and/or sculpties. Even Avatars are being made of Mesh nowadays, like it's some sort of miracle product... which it kinda is.
  19. I got a couple of my water-side little beach-house lookin' thing. Only outside pics, though. Indoors is for people that are allowed to drink booze only, Burd included. That empty spot is a discount personal sandbox, mainly for editing avatar appearances and such. EDIT: Sorry for the bland graphics, didn't bother to experiment for the photos.
  20. I'm kinda skeptical. Will they function in a sphere or a box? What would the minimum time be to eject someone from the parcel? Can they eject anyone aside from those you've given exceptions to? EDIT: Will the ban-line ban also apply to the old style of Linden homes, too?
  21. I am in a similar situation, down in Heirlong. This burd has a roost, just missing a fancy car and contempt neighbors, lol
  22. Well whatever you do, don't put up your own fencing, hedges, or walls if your parcel don't have any, or you might tick off a neighbor even though it's in theme.
  23. Hey, I love being wrong~! Means I can still learn things.
  24. My own prediction is November at the earliest; It's not exactly something that can be slapped together with flex tape and super glue.
