  1. Right well from the other side they can login to the casperlet website and view all transactions recorded for the rental box so that would show if you paid or not, but it would be good to have that link you get to prove it.
  2. I got an email saying they would sell it to me and it was for sale in world to me for L$1/m
  3. I doubt that, the parcel was abandoned for a long time and it was only joined when I asked for it. Anyway I don't want the parcel anymore. It's been too long and the memory has faded too much for me to spend more money preserving the area.
  4. Yeah most people say this, I guess I just had a bad experience. The parcel was already separated in the exact shape and size I wanted and that is all I asked for so not sure why they joined it but after that I just did not want to bother asking again.
  5. The problem I have with abandoned land is with a parcel I tried to buy when it was abandoned. I owned a 512 surrounded by this parcel when I asked to buy it, they joined it to most of the rest of the region and set it for sale but I didn't want the whole region so I just didn't bother buying it
  6. Couldn't you set an appropriate auto return to prevent this? Just to save yourself the trouble of checking and returning stray skyboxes and such.
  7. Do you know what systems do this? I use CasperLet for my rentals and I know it does that when buying from CasperVend but never tested it with CasperLet.
  8. It's because people want the land to use when they pay for it, not whenever a staff member gets the chance to go over and remove whatever junk is left behind. Grace period? Why would there be a grace period? If the rental box says availablee the land is available isn't it? Unless your rental boxes say "grace period" in which case why do they allow someone else to come along and start a rental? You think you keep more customers by doing things the slow manual way rather than the quick way that gets the new tenant in their land ASAP. Well that is strange. Except you cannot use a radio object unless you are able to deed it to the group. It also means you can't really ban anyone in the group (which considering you have an open group means you can't really ban anyone at all). My rentals do all that except the first. Would that still put you off renting mainland? (just wondering)
  9. If they don't get back to you about this I would probably move TBH. I have never charged any of my tenants for group liabilities as this is a business expense, nothing the tenants should be paying for. The only time I pass this charge on is if someone wants to put the parcel they are renting from me in search in which case I add L$30 to the weekly rent which covers the L$30 taken out of my account every week. I can understand paying this for a group if it was to do with a park or some other public place as they aren't likely to be making enough to cover the costs but the second a place starts offering rentals or selling stuff I would expect the owners to cover these costs, not group members. As I stated above, are these costs not business expenses? Would you like to charge an extra fee any time you need to send a message to a customer to cover a small % of the cost of the equipment, electricity and internet connection? These are all expenses to the business and should not be passed onto customers apart from what is included in rentals or products sold. If someone messages me to say they were charged a group liability for one of my groups, I would look into it as soon as I could checking the group permissions and fixing them so only staff can be charged as well as asking for the transaction details so I can refund whatever amount it is. Even L$1 is L$1 more than they should have been charged.
  10. When I first started I used a few different free/very cheap rental boxes. They generally work great for just a few rentals but once I upgraded to CasperLet (L$1795) I never looked back. It uses a website to configure rentals, keeps track of who has rented in the past, how much has been paid and when and had a large number of features. It's also extremely easy to setup and use. If you want anymore information about it contact me in world.
  11. Yes land does sell at that price, if it is in the right location. There is also Nautilus BTW (similar pricing).
  12. Doesn't sound like this company is abusive at all. Just seems like they didn't realize the land was rented and haven't fixed the problem yet. If it doesn't look like they are going to fix it in a timely fashion then move if that is an option.
  13. Actually no you can't. So what of the people that bought mainland in regions with certain ratings for a reason? Do you suggest they all just sell and move? Kinda reminds me of this parcel I own. I used it for my rent a prim business back in the current days and one day I got a message from someone asking if they can buy it. I wouldn't sell it at the time as people still has stuff there but I offered to take down my build and let them put up a wall to match the theme of the region (they acquired most of the region by this time).
  14. The security of knowing your parcel will always be there. Whoever you are renting from could decide one day they want to close that estate and you would need to move. That alone makes it worth the difference to me.
  15. Heh I remember when I first found out about group liabilities. I had L$10 in an alternative and when I logged in a few months later it was all gone! It went to a friends group though so it's ok.
  16. Well the ones I've picked up I've liked but I think I only use one. I've seen the tree house and I would use it if I had it.
  17. I use them for one store I manage because it's hooked up to a backed which generates SKUs for items. Some of the things sold by that SL marketplace store are also sold online as real world objects so I use similar SKUs for those too.
  18. Anything you earn in SL should be reported for tax purposes. Some accountants only count it when you actually cash out some will count everything, really seems to depend on who does your taxes.
  19. All this time I thought you can only make an experience if you own an estate. I like the idea!
  20. Couldn't they though? I'm not too familiar with mesh avatars so I'm not exactly sure but isn't there some way of distinguishing a mesh body from mesh clothes other than the name? (Like how the old shapes and clothes have different icons) and if not then could they add some way of setting an object as body or clothing so that clothing can be downloaded first.
  21. Haha it sure was. There was a bit of scepticism when I said something along her lines of "If anyone is looking for a place to stay rent free, please send me an IM" in a group chat but I ended up filling all sorts within about a week. Originally I believe I said I would guarantee at least 6 months in case I decided I wanted the space/prime but I've never even considered evicting anyone. I did wrote a script at one point to try and work out who actually still uses their house (based on time on sim) but I never got it exactly how I wanted it so it's not used. When I finally get around to fixing it though I will be removing the houses of the 2 people that left and using it with 2 new people adding an extra rule to the free rent (if you spend less than 1 hour a month there, I'll consider that as you have quit SL or moved out so you will be evicted).
  22. I met one of my oldest SL friends like this. I was walking along one of the roads and he has a path from the road into his place. It looked public enough (it wasn't a house and there were a few people around) so I walked in and had a look. Back then I was looking for some.land to buy and there was a 512m for sale right next to his place. I went back a few times until I finally found him standing there one day and asked if he would extend his path to the parcel that was for sale if I bought it and he did. I set up a small build I. The same style as his so it didn't look out of place and we became friends. When I got into 7Seas fishing I ended up buying everything needed to set up a fishing spot on his land as he wanted something to fill a gap he had. I ended up becoming a VIP in his group but unfortunately he left SL a few years ago. He is still the first person that comes to mind when I think about SL friends.
  23. I miss this. About 2 years ago I actually let a handful of people live on my land rent free (other than a small initial fee of around L$300) with the purpose of having people nearby so I could say hi. Just had a look recently and it looks like 2 people have since moved out but there are still some people there living rent free.
