  1. Except entering a high bid early can cause the land to sell for higher than it would have if you entered your bid during the final hour.
  2. Somehow I don't think LL would stop them in bay city either. I've never seen/heard of LL enforcing any theme there, it is purely up to the residents to upkeep the theme. The only reason you don't see random builds wildly out of theme is due to the cost of the land. why spend that much money on land in a certain theme when you aren't going to build in that theme? Yes, it's double prim but even then it's a major cost.

Just under 12 years for my original account however back then my internet was so bad I had to use the lowest draw distance I could, music turned off and I could not really walk around or explore much due to loading times. I stuck around for awhile before moving on then returned years later when I had a better connection (I still had to use a small draw distance due to loading times but I could at least explore the grid). From there my internet got better and my draw distance increased until a year or 2 ago when my internet started getting worse over time. Now I have a large cache so I can still go to all my favorite places, my draw distance is reasonable but I spend most of my time in one of a few places I own. My internet has gotten so bad that sailing is no longer an option for me and I lost my slip in bay city who knows how long ago. It's gotten to the point where I am now looking at switching ISP's to one which I believe will give me a more reliable connection but possibly not much faster than my old one.

  11. If you mean the browser that pops up when you click a link then no, it tends to load too slow (initial launch) so by the time it loads I can already open a separate browser and use that. If you are referring to MOAP then yes, I do use that occasionally but usually only because a script can display HTML via MOAP eg. to display a table of data.

Experiences can't set your active group automatically (I wrote a script to do this so I use the correct land group when I am at any of my parcels, I have a few store tags I use in certain stores, RP tags in RP sims and a generic tag I use anywhere else) Thanks, that was on my list of things to lookup for a project I'm going to be working on soon Good to know what I want to do is likely to be possible.
  13. Sploders pay a random amount, gachas give you a prize worth a varying amount. Buying the Chevy in your example is completly ddifferent as you know exactly what you are buying before you pay for it. You aren't paying $3600USD and getting a random car out of a list of multiple different cars worth different values. I never said they did, I just stated what I believe should be done. What does this have to do with anything? How does a hat with an effect help you win in Team Fortress 2? How does a weapon skin help you win in CS:GO? They don''t but they are still items gained from lootboxes worth varying values determined by users. This is why gachas are just like lootboxes in other games.

  15. No lose sploders use RNG to determine prizes and they are not allowed due to the policy. Raffle tickets (in my country at least) are regulated by law and are only legal under certain circumstances as they are considered gambling. Where I live it is regulated by the the state commission for gambling and liquor. Their regulations state that for Raffles with a prize value of $500 or less (which would be any SL raffle I have ever seen) no permit is required however the total value of tickets must be between 2-6 times the total value of the prize(s), tickets can only be sold for 1 day or within an eight hour period, the winner must be drawn on the same day or within 8 hours, records must be kept for three years. There are also restrictions on where the proceeds of raffles can be sent to. I don't know of any SecondLife raffles that follow these regulations. Sure they are different for other countries but I would assume the regulations around the world have some similar requirements which aren't met by SecondLife raffles. This is exactly why I believe all gachas and raffle systems should not be allowed.

  17. Buying the water at the edge of the region or adjacent to protected land ensures you will always have that view/access to that water. Buying the actual land further back means you need to also buy the water in front and pay tier for it to ensure you cannot be blocked in.
  18. I've always advocated for gachas to be removed under the policy regarding wagering Second Life. The policy starts with: Gachas violate that first point as they rely on chance/random number generation to pick your prize. It's the second half that is debatable as I consider it a violation as it rewards you with an item of varying value which can be resold for L$. I would consider this as violation of the second point as the item you receive is a "thing of value" but this may be referring a real world physical thing of value not something within SL of value. Later in the policy it states the following: That second sentence is that leads me to believe gachas should not be allowed as the item received can be converted to L$ by selling it, especially with the varying values of prizes.   20. Aah good point, I would still consider that fairly protected though depending on where it is. There's little value in someone attaching a sim onto the mainland unless it's in one of a few places.

  23. Excuse me? My poll was open to the general public, it was placed in the middle of my rentals office for at least 60 seconds and I shouted out that it was there. Your poll on the other hand while you have advertised it on the forums and left it open longer than mine is just as bad as mine. Based on your previous post you are claiming what both options 1 and 5 are "against" the cars, and option 6 is "for" them. I see option 5 as "for" the card and as such I bothered to drag my way over to your land and vote that way. In fact I see all options except the first as being "for" the vehicles. Make a real poll, get a good sample size then come talk. Oh wait, you can't.
