  1. I understand you well, its a big-big pain of mine (the other is the alpha glitch when 2 semitransparent surfaces overlap eachother) that i cannot make what i imagine look exactly how i imagine it. I know those methods you mentioned, and use them, i make curtains and i do everything i can to not exceed the 5 Li with a curtain. Visit my store and inspect them BUT sometimes i have (and want) to make really nice, smooth and detailed objects, like big wedding tables - custom request. You cannot make it less verts if you want folds and folds and folds and.... and richly draped, curved stuff. So, sorry, but here is the next 23790 so far - a little bit reduced by hand - and it would still need 1-2 more egde-loops on top part to be really nice, plus i originally wanted the inner - almost straight cloth to be double, like 2 semitransparent tulle layers... plus runner.. These will be separated objects anyway.
  2. You guys are so awesome, so big help I knew that having more than 8 materials divides the object, i had a mesh like that. And now i know more, tris over the limit do the same.... I want to make detailed meshes in the future, drapes with tons of folds and ruffles, as i always wanted to, but these limit issues pushed me back from trying until now. I have to find new solutions, so i am grateful to all of you for tips & advices, for the time and patience you put in these replies! ♥
  3. Indeed, Arton, but when a single material is added to the whole object, the tris number is the same and this issue is not present. I will try divide the mesh too, Chic. Acutally i dont like this table, i reduced the polyount of the original model, so as you see, this one is not so nince, I will make a new model, that will be more detailed, at least it will look as i wanted and divide it, then we will see what happens Thank you both! ♥
  4. I deleted the old cloth material, then assigned a new one to that face - same, Lambert - same issue, but not on exactly same number of faces, some are missing. (The pink one is the newest upload withe new cloth material) This gets more and more weird
  5. Yes, i uploaded it 3 times, because i needed to find the balance (Li, LOD), same issue. It has Lamber applied on each face btw. AND, i uploaded a table now with a single material added to the whole obj, the problem vanished. So it must be a material issue, but what kind... ? I need those faces
  6. No, its not double anywhere, its one sided obj, that's why i got shocked a bit when i saw this
  7. Hi everyone! I use to add more faces to my meshes, and after uploading them to SL, i color each face to see if its ok. I did the same with this oval table. In Blender everything looks fine. But when i colored that table cloth in SL, the color didnt apply to all faces. I had to click on those and color them too. I never had this problem before. I had some double verticles that were removed, but that didnt help at all. This is a one sided mesh. Do you know why is this happening and how can be fiixed?
  8. wow arton,.. i really didn't think it can make so much difference.. surprise! I moved them backwards a bit. Thank you so much! I hope that little distance won't be visible after texturing.
  9. Problem is that first i picked a texture, then divided it in 3 parts, completing the missing areas by handpainting each, so i have 3 layers.3 textures, and then i made the mesh built around the texture. I do not want to give up on this texture, THIS is what i need. I inspected other plant maker's works and i came to the conclusion that this way would be ok to build it.
  10. Thank you arton, I don't understand what you mean by "They may not match that what you have entered in the field" I uploaded bigger objects that were made with the same method, Duplicated and left in the same place, like this one: This curtain, as you see it its 5 LI total, with all parts linked. And i have other mesh objects uploaded same way, i never got so huge Li numbers as this new tinnyrose produces
  11. Thnak you Chic for taking time to help me, but i am afraid we did not find the solution yet. The other rose (older built, that i had on a pillow) is bigger and more detailed
  12. Hi everyone! I want to upload a simple mesh rose (my first mesh plant) that has 332 verts, dimensions are aprox 0.3, has 2 UVs and 2 faces. This mesh would need a storng LOD, as it is meant to be multiplied (min. 12 pieces, plus leaves), and used as decor of another, bigger mesh. I have set the lowest LOD to 0, the rest Generated, psychics to lowest, and i can't get less than 12-13 Li, this is unacceptable. The 2 planes on the back of the rose are duplicated as i need them 2 sided. I have uploaded mesh pillows with flowers before at 5-8k verts total and they ended up 1-2 Li with shadow prim linked to them, and good LOD. This one got me.. Can you please help me with opinions, suggestions, what the problem can be? What am i doing wrong, whats else should i check?
  13. Thank you Drongle. I am amazed by your professionality and detail of your replies.. After checking 1,2,3,4... times my object, and back, I have come to the conclusion that a distorted uv is always caused by a bad geometry. Even if you check it x times and dont see anything wrong, the problem is there. I tweaked some verts, then cut the object in half, deleted te wrong (left) one, then mirrored the right one. Ok, i got 2 corners that i have no idea (yet) where did they come from, but the uv is correct this time. That border caused the problem. The cross-section shows why i cant use project from view. The border turns to inside at the bottom. About the manipulator.. of course its easy, i should have known. Thank you!
  14. Thank you for your reply Chic. Project from view will not always give me what i need, that works better with flat objects i guess, in this case i see overlapping faces. I will post an image to see why. "In general NOW (for some time actually) when you are marking seams and using the UNWRAP method to unwrap, you need to go Object > Apply > Rotation and Scale BEFORE you unwrap or things will not work as you expect. You need to be in Object mode to get to that Object > Apply menu." I do not know what is that good for, but i will make some research and find out.
